  1. Would be cool if the pirates sorta kinda tried...wow
  2. Yesterday was just 1 day. We were inevitably going to lose, hopefully we can bounce back today.
  3. I'll be content as long as the Pirates can get one from the Cubs. Anything beyond that is a bonus. That would probably mean Brewers fall a game back of the Cubs after this weekend...but we would have the schedule advantage from this point forward so overall that would be fine.
  4. Man, Rockies hitter bombs one just foul...would have been 6-5 had it stayed fair. Strikes out on the next pitch to end the inning.
  5. The Dbacks have a pretty easy schedule after the game today, but man they've been absolutely wrecked the last 4 games by the Mets. I don't think any have been close.
  6. Looks like Freddy was given the win today for his work in the 7th and 8th. Citing an example of that official scorer discretion...
  7. We should probably create a pinned thread just for scoreboard watching.
  8. This Brigham has some serious bite on his slider. Impressive pitch.
  9. I'd prefer they play every remaining game on their schedule here, actually. Because... Because it means we're facing the Marlins.....
  10. Probably, but it would be so much better to not use him today and have him available tomorrow against St Louis. This is where 4 or 5 more runs would be incredibly beneficial
  11. Guerra, Pomeranz, Claudio, and Black have all been very very good since the all-star break. I don't buy into this whole backhanded bashing of the Brewers thing that so many on here do. Plenty of quality relievers in the bullpen...not just Hader(though he's obviously the best)
  12. Welcome to the big leagues kid, I swear the umps are better here than in AAA.....said no major league baseball player ever
  13. I think we're going to end up seeing a 30-40 pitches from Freddy today...and very soon.
  14. One more base runner and GG should be done for the day. Already near 70 pitches and simply ineffective.
  15. Man, it takes Smith 60+ pitches to get through 3 innings. We have the wrong part of the order come up...and 10 pitches later he gets through a clean one.
  16. I'm pretty sure Braun saw you bashing him on the forums...that must have been his response
  17. Does anyone have any insight as to why Grandal seems to get pitched around so often? I get that he's obviously very good, but so often we'll be facing a pitcher that's completely locked in...then Grandal comes up and he starts him 2-0 or 3-0. That was even happening with Yelich behind him. It doesn't make any sense.
  18. I agree with both this post and regarding Taylor starting today. Both would have been a good idea...but having Grandal sit a day would probably be preferred if only one. We can't afford to punt out an AAA lineup today and add greater risk of losing.
  19. I was putzing on statcast and looking at Davies yesterday before the game. One thing that stuck out to me, the spin rate on all his pitches has steadily decreased throughout the year. And as it's decreased, his whiff rate has also decreased. Oddly, his fastball velocity has gone slightly up...but I'm starting to think either Davies is physically wearing down from the long season...or he's dealing with a minor injury...or both. Regardless...he's not the same pitcher from the first half. I'd like to see Woodruff take his spot in the rotation when he comes back. I understand he'll be on a limited pitch count...maybe have Suter piggyback with him to get 6-7 innings total. But I think Davies should probably be shut down for the year...I wouldn't even include him on a potential postseason roster at this point.
  20. Stearns confirmed this morning. Timeline is 8-10 weeks. They have to immobilize the leg, and then strength/conditioning. 8 weeks pretty much rules him out for the entirety of the postseason. But again, he should have a full and normal offseason.
  21. This guy is absolutely devastating against LHB. We need to load up the RH hitters today. Cain Grandal Braun Moose Austin Perez Grisham Arcia P Hiura slots in 3rd, Braun 5th, Austin 6th if Hiura starts today. I'm just not counting on it yet.
  22. So really, his injury is entirely your fault?
