  1. Mets just simply are not a good match for Lucroy unless a third team is involved. Braun/Hill/Relievers would be doable with the Mets farm system, not Lucroy.
  2. McClanahan was ranked about 122 in the MLB pipeline, thats round 4. The 109 pick got 1.2M, 112 pick earned 1M, 126 earned 850,000. His coach came out and said he wants to be a SunDevil, so I'm sure he's playing it tough right now, but who knows how much he's asking.
  3. I'm hoping Ray signs for slightly less than slot and we can offer McClanahan $1M, he'd be a great addition to the farm system. GoFundMe for Chad?
  4. Might be a little off topic, but Arcia started at 2B for the 2nd time in 10 games yesterday for the Sky Sox. Is there a SS out there if traded for that would take over ahead of Arcia if traded? Only one listed above him in the pipeline is JP Crawford which won't be going anywhere. Only reason I am posting this here is because it would have to be a premium prospect return and Lucroy would be the only one to do so from this team. Trea Turner, Nationals? Alex Bregman, Astros? Franklin Barreto, A's? Gleybor Torres, Cubs? Jorge Mateo, Yankees? Brendan Rodgers, Rockies? All the others are on crappy teams that have no one blocking them.
  5. I'd only trade him if another team wanted him as a part of a Lucroy or Braun trade.
  6. Wow, was hoping the money saved on Erceg(237,000)would help sign #11 McClanahan
  7. Zach Wheeler is not a Stearns guy. 25 years old, only 3 years of control. Doesn't fit the young and controllable slogan that Stearns has been preaching and acquiring. If the Mets are going to get Lucroy, I highly doubt Strearns would put Wheeler(who hasn't pitched in over a year) as the headliner. They would have to offer others.
  8. Nightengale tweet "The #SFGiants will get an up-close and personal look at #Brewers Ryan Braun, who's on their radar, with 3-game series beginning tonight in SF" Their top 2 Pitching prospects? Beede Bickford We eat some salary for Braun
  9. He's been good since his return, lefty dominant high leverage reliever Nationals are said to be shopping for Aroldis Chapman or Andrew Miller who the yanks might not make available Brewers get: Victor Robles Reynaldo Lopez Nationals get Will Smith Less of a return than what Giles got, but it adds 2 high upside quality pieces to the minors, opens a roster spot for our current teams needs
  10. I would love to see McClanahan signed, a system lacking big corner infielders with pop. Any chance he signs? With him being the 11th pick, can we offer him what we want?
  11. Dodgers and Red Sox are the two that match up best right now I trust Stearns, but I will be very worried until he pulls off a trade He is asking a lot as he should, but is he asking too much that teams will look for other options
  12. Mayo's best available pitchers are, most of the top lefties are gone in the top 100: #34 Jared Horn RHP, HS 6'4" http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/40395496/v625877583 #39 Corbin Burnes, RHP, Jr 6'3" http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/40395496/v625727783 #44 Jon Duplantier, RHP, Jr 6'3" http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/40395496/v632815383 #58 Kyle Funkhouser, RHP, Sr 6'2" http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/40395496/v532382283 #66 Zach Jackson, RHP Jr 6'3" http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/40395496/v532382183 #70 Chad Hockin, RHP Jr 6'2" http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/40395496/v532368383 #76 Ryan Rolison, LHP HS 6'2" http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/40395496/v632814883 #77 Jesus Luzardo, LHP HS 5'11" http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/40395496/v532381383 Luzardo has the best command but is just coming off TJ surgery. List of all others available still http://m.mlb.com/draft/tracker/#!ft=rank&fv=top
  13. I don't think it would be wise to go underslot and compete with the top 3 teams. With the possiblity of Moniak, Senzel and Anderson going underslot before we pick, they will have tons of cash(tons of cash already) to nab falling talent in the comp and 2nd round before us. Stick with best player available.
  14. Braun earns 10 and 5 rights come next year May, so if we hold him, he has the final say in where he goes if anywhere. I know there's 5-6 teams now we can openly trade with without his consent, but it just makes it that much harder next year.
  15. Jeff Ellis tweet... "So looks like Blake Rutherford took down a tweet which said Los Angeles an arrow towards and Milwaukee" Under slot deal?
  16. Cleveland does make for an interesting trade candidate for Luc. They are only 2.5 games back from KC at this point. They do have Gomes signed through 2020 with club options in 2021 and 2022 but he has been dreadful at the plate this year slashing 176/215/351 YTD. Cleveland also has the starting pitching to make a deep playoff run in Kluber, Salazar and Carrasco, all of which are controlled through 2020 so they have a 5 year window to try and make a run. Cleveland payroll is at $99M right now. As far as prospects, would this package be too much, not enough? #3 Bobby Bradley, 1B, Just turned 20, #87 in top 100, leads Carolina league in HR this year #4 Brady Aiken, LHP, 19, #97 in top 100(Too risky with TJ Surgery?) and 1 of the following: #5 Justus Sheffield, LHP, 20, #98 in top 100 #6 Triston McKenzie, RHP, 18 Their top 2 prospects are Zimmer(#22 overall, 23 years old in AA) and Frazier(#23 overall, 21 years old in AA) Or does Frazier need to be in the deal? Pair him with Phillips for the future OF? 1 Top 50 player, 3 top 100's overall seems like a pretty good haul, at least 2 good young pitchers and one good position player, thoughts? All 3 would likely jump into our Top 10.
  17. Would love to see: 1.1 Puk 1.2 Perez 1.3 Lewis 1.4 Moniak 1.5 Groome Edit, sorry wrong thread to post in...
  18. In a trade for the Rangers, I'd be all for Brinson + Tate or Ortiz + lower level arms if Gallo wasn't the center piece. Rangers have a deep farm system. Would love to get 1 really high upside position player + 1 TOR arm and 1-2 lower level arms. I wouldn't need Gallo from Rangers in a trade.
  19. The Red Sox catchers the last 30 days have been very underwhelming, gotta think Dombrowski would want to strengthen the position going into the trade deadline. Crazy how much offense they've had with so little support from the catchers: Swihart 231/333/538 - 4 games 0 HR Vazquez 226/262/355 - 18 games 1 HR Hanigan 189/231/243 - 12 games 0 HR I'm pulling for a Lucroy/Reliever trade to bring back Devers and Espinoza + , have to wonder with them being so young and possibly far from the majors that Dombrowski would be willing to sacrifice the future which is easily replenishable for them for a World Series shot these next 2 years.
  20. I think it depends on how this trading deadline/draft and winter go. I am hoping that between Lucroy, Jeffress, Smith and maybe Carter there should be a good influx of talent into the farm system and hopefully some younger top of the rotation arms. If Lucroy gets hurt within the next 6 weeks and we can't deal him we could be in trouble prospectwise. If someone then came to us and offered us the Shelby Miller package with us unable to trade Lucroy, I'd gladly accept this winter. If we don't have any future Top of the Rotation starters that will be within Jimmy's timeframe, I think you have to trade him while his value is high. If we have a Groome/Puk/Pint and Tate or Ortiz waiting to come up in a few years come August 1st, different story.
  21. This certainly helps Braun's market, if Braun can stay healthy and off the disabled list http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2016/5/20/11719972/josh-reddick-injury-athletics National Fans were wanting Reddick as he would be cheaper than Braun http://www.wnff.net/index.php?topic=33857.275
  22. I wouldn't say the Rangers are getting nothing out of the catching position, the past 30 days: Wilson 290/353/484 - 31 AB's Holady 257/333/457 - 35 AB's Nicholas 250/333/625 - 24 AB's That's without their "starter" in Chirinos sniffing the field who's coming back in a few weeks. If I had to pick a team to deal him to, I also think the Rangers would be tops on my list, but they are far from desperate at this point.
