  1. Does anyone know if the You Tube video has an option to sync with a radio broadcast?
  2. I didn't expect my relatively offhanded comment about the Brewers SPs recent short starts to trigger so much analysis and critique and reminders about how the game has changed over the decades. Because I don't see game threads as the ideal forum for that kind of discussion, maybe I will create a blog post to give the expanded version of the basic point I was getting at.
  3. That is basically what I said a few posts ago when I said that Peralta and Woodruff aren’t covering as many innings as they should.
  4. I understand that this isn’t the 80’s, so you can spare that lecture. I don’t think it’s too much to expect pitchers like Peralta and Woodruff to complete 6 innings on at least a somewhat regular basis, especially when they are only being asked to pitch once every 6 days. I think they’ve each only done it once so far, and a few of their starts have been more than an inning short of that.
  5. My eyes are focusing more on this last round of starts, where Houser, Ashby, Woodruff, and Peralta all failed to finish 6 innings, and the first 3 didn’t even make it to into the 6th. For pitchers who are touted as among the best in the league, Woodruff and Peralta aren’t covering a lot of innings.
  6. Now Hader comes in after throwing just one inning in almost two weeks and he’s rusty.
  7. I didn’t say MORE than 6 innings. The Brewers have had several recent starts where the starter hasn’t even gotten to the 6th inning, much less finish it. For a team that is supposed to have one of the best rotations in MLB playing in a league with scoring down they should be able to get a few more “quality starts”.
  8. The last few days have exposed the Brewers bullpen as not nearly the strong point everyone assumed it would be. And if the starters keep laboring to go 5 or 6 innings it’s going to become a big problem.
  9. I still won’t watch Williams pitch because he makes me crazy. I check every 5 minutes or so to see if he’s gotten out of an inning. I’m on about my 4th check and can’t believe he is still in.
  10. Danger time. Peralta is out and Suter facing Moran is a perfect setup for Suter to try to steal a win.
  11. When are rumors about the Brewers stealing signs at home going to start?
  12. Let’s get some runs and get this guy out of the game before he kills someone.
  13. It was a scorcher right to the right fielder who didn’t have to move.
  14. I don’t think they’re going to get 85-90 pitches out of Castillo. He looks to be laboring now.
  15. Taylor must have felt guilty about Castillo not getting the call on what looked like strike 3 so he decided to swing on ball 4 a foot inside.
  16. Another shaky and probably short start from Woodruff.
  17. Burnes and Woodruff both have had trouble with gopher balls. Can’t afford too many of them against good teams and/or good pitchers. The runs aren’t as easy to come by as they are against back end starters and in bullpen games.
  18. They said Castillo might be good for about 85 pitches. The way the Brewers hitters are flailing away helplessly that should be good for a complete game shutout.
