I figured this was the game the Brewers had to win to avoid a sweep in this series. With the scrub starters going in the next two the prospects are pretty grim.
Yardley is looking like this year’s pitcher who will get a lot of high leverage innings because of success he had last year until he proves that this is a new year.
I can't believe Coshun didn't say it was popped up on the infield. Coshun is not good but you have to cut announcers some slack when they are watching the game on a TV monitor.
Isn’t it foolish to take a pitcher who was barely able to get any work in spring training and immediately throw him into a high leverage role expecting him to be as effective as he was last season?
Vs Pittsburgh a team likely not seeing 65wins. 10 runs per game is a little more than impressive against any MLB opponent. They scored a ton against the Cardinals too.
We have quite a few guys who should be hitting 8th in the order. Unfortunately, only one can. I look at it from the standpoint of who I’d like to see up with a man on third and two out, and Urias is below both Pina and Robertson on that list.
The Brewers are about to be 0-2 in games in which their starting pitcher allowed no hits in 6 innings. I can’t think of any reason for Urias to be anything other than 8th in the batting order.
Hiura is the latest example of why I don’t get too excited about minor league prospects. When I hear “he’s hit everywhere he’s been” one of the first names that comes to mind is Randy Ready. Hiura hits and fields just like him.
