  1. Dumbest argument I’ve heard yet about Baez. He argued Yelich numbers mean less because he’s got more around him in the lineup. Said hitting between Cain and Aguilera make it easier for Yelich to put up numbers. For one it’s AGUILAR, and for two take a glance at the Cubs lineup around Baez. Pretty good thump there too. Sure not realistic looking at team offensive stats.
  2. Who is this announcer? Just referred to Aguilar as Aguilera in promoting Baez as MVP...
  3. I was just on the Brewers site and there's quite a few seats all the way down in the first deck for Sunday. There's a pair in 125 row 8 yet. 113, 114, 115, 117 all have pairs, and a couple sections had 4 in a row open yet. Click to use the map option where you can see the individual seats.
  4. Chacin going deep into the game tonight would help greatly, but not the end of the world if he doesn't. You would hope that they can get a pretty good lead in one of the Tigers games, and then just piggy back Anderson or Peralta with the starter. It's a tight race right now, but it's entirely possible that the last Tigers game will mean nothing. If that's the case Albers and Lyles can go 4 and 5 respectively, lol.
  5. I still think the division race will matter to some voters. There are people who will vote for the player off the division champion if they are close. The Cubs popularity and gigantic fan base will sadly factor in as well. I think Yelich deserves it, but it's far from a lock that he will get it. How does Yelich have a negative Def WAR? I know his arm is brutal, but throwing is honestly a pretty small part of playing the outfield. I would have thought his range/speed would have made up for the bad arm.
  6. They look like the Brewers did right before the break. Those long stretches are killers.
  7. I hope Colorado catches the Dodgers. They will cool eventually, and I rather see them in the post season over the Dodgers.
  8. Man, the high pressure innings our young arms are getting this year. Williams, Burnes, Peralta, Woodruff all getting innings that matter.
  9. The single was a pitch a foot off the plate. Nice edit. Claiming it got too much of the plate was very incorrect
  10. You mean the guy who had a clutch pinch hit triple last night? That Thames? The only place that was a triple was the box score. That was mostly a gift.
  11. Seemed like you would PH the best contact hitter you have on the bench in that situation, Thames just a real odd choice.
  12. Think of all the terrible OF plays from the Cards this year. Ozuna had an awful play in LF against us earlier this year too.
  13. I’m good with Gio going till he gives up a base runner from here out. Get as much as you can but should not pitch with a runner on anymore tonight.
  14. More like tip of the cap to DJ. Gio was garbage in Washington. DJJ has been a fabulous pitching coach. He was pretty good early in the year, then blew up. Those 8-10 days he had off after the trade might have been a much needed reset. I’m sure him and DJ had some quality bullpens in that stretch.
  15. So So So good. Man, just fun to watch. Him being the MVP may depend on us catching the Cubs, but he’s sure earned it.
  16. Yea, seemed like he was a little shook up about the trade too. Affected him for a few games I think, then try to press to impress the new team... just snow balls. Thought he’d settle in after the big HR, and he has a little. He’s still an asset going forward I think.
  17. Didn’t hit him, replay sucks. With JJ I think any positive test or drug issue would’ve leaked to media by now.
  18. Don’t think he would’ve been there this morning then. I hate speculating, so I don't want to expand. Really don't. But it could be he came in to tell CC what's going on. Could be he was tested, appealed, and heard back today. Man I hate having to say it, but it is possible. He only pitch what one inning in 9 days or something? And he sure didnt look injured. I don’t think major league players get tested.
