  1. Mets travel to Philadelphia. 24 year old Nolan McLean starts for NYM. He has been very good in four career starts. Cubs travel to Atlanta. Bryce Elder beat Chicago last week, going 7 IP allowing 0 ER. Reds travel to San Diego. Yu Darvish still slinging it at age 39, just not very well. Dodgers host Rockies. Would love for Cubs to be #2 wild card.
  2. Would really like the Padres to beat the Cubs in the wildcard, if that’s what happens.
  3. Maybe we just carry three first baseman? I mean, goodness. Hoskins is not the same guy as he was with the Phillies but can we really just hide him in Nashville beyond next week?
  4. We should understand that perspectives shared during the game threads do not necessarily reflect our actual thoughts.
  5. The Bauers from April/May with OPS over .800 would be nice. I think they are giving Bauers one last look before recalling Hoskins next week.
  6. We have DL Hall and Megill back soon enough?
  7. They each play 3-4 days per week until someone wins the job? 🤷‍♂️
  8. Nearly every other team gave up a lot more and received similar or worse results. We gave up nearly nothing for Shelby Miller and the prospect we traded for Jansen was not in our top 30. I agree that Jansen might be our 4th or 5th best catcher behind Contreras, Haase, Siegler and Quero. If nothing else, Contreras has been remarkable at the plate since we traded for Jansen. 🙂
  9. At least they had the courage to ‘go for it’
  10. Hoskins time. At least a few days per week.
  11. Seems like a scheme to sell more subscriptions 🙂
  12. Didn’t Nick Mears say he was injured a few weeks ago and then nothing happened?
  13. The difference between Peralta and Webb is a couple additional outs per start, probably less.
  14. I do agree there should be more of a middle ground between Yelich starting seven days a week and being on the injured list
