  1. All three games at Wrigley
  2. Miller used to be a starter and might be again in the future. I’ll assume Miller is unavailable tomorrow.
  3. Miller and Morejon pitched in game one and two. I assume they are available in game three? If necessary I wonder if Yu Darvish has anything left in the tank.
  4. Should Counsell pinch hit for PCA with runners on first and second against LH reliever? Probably not in the fourth inning, but I wonder if he would later in the game
  5. Counsell using an opener for Imanaga today. Strong move.
  6. Sounds like Google AI to me. Cubs couldn’t have had the tie breaker with that record 🙂
  7. Good take on third pitch for PCA.
  8. Kudos to Boyd. Walk to Machado then sacrifice bunt, infield single leads to runners at the corners with one out and he gets out of it.
  9. San Diego has a scouting report on PCA
  10. Runner on third, nobody out. Cleveland looks like they will get nothing. Brutal
  11. Padres go quietly in the first. Boyd throws 12 pitches. It will be key to avoid Michael Busch setting the table or hitting lead off HR. He seems to do that a lot these days.
  12. Padres and Cubs haven’t faced each other since April. I like Pivetta more than Boyd today.
  13. I remember being almost excited for the Brewers to acquire Steven Kwan. Kwan has hit .254 / .310 / .345 since the all star break. .655 OPS in the second half
  14. Tigers will feel good if they win this wildcard series
  15. Plus, it is normal to wish for an early playoff exit for your rival. Let’s not allow Cubs fans or the organization any momentum into the offseason.
  16. Home teams could be bummed they didn’t get a bye and the road teams are more energized to have simply made the playoffs? 🤷‍♂️
  17. Interestingly, I’m having a hard time thinking of the last time a young pre-arbitration player demanded a trade. I imagine there could be an element of bad faith in terms of collective bargaining if that became common.
  18. I like the Padres in three. Imanaga has 4.70 ERA in 76.2 IP since the break. Boyd has 4.63 ERA in the second half. Game three is either Taillon or Rea, presumably Taillon. San Diego has a lot of LH hitters, though.
  19. Google AI 😔
  20. Edit: Wrong info from AI
  21. I know what you mean. There is something nice to look forward to nearly every day from April through September. If it is any consolation, pitchers and catchers report in 135 days 🙂
  22. On June 12, the Mets held the best record in baseball, a full 21 games over .500. They had stretched their NL East lead to 5 1/2 games with an 8 1/2-game margin for error in the fledgling playoff race. Three and a half months later, their season ended without a postseason berth. Over their final 93 games, the Mets went 38-55, producing a better record than only four teams: the bottom-feeding White Sox, Nationals, Twins and Rockies. Source: mlb.com
  23. Thanks for putting this together! On one hand, the Brewers have a .600 winning percentage over their past 162 games. On the other hand, does a .600 winning percentage over the last 40 games have a causal relationship toward winning the World Series? Lots of teams play .600 baseball in September and only one wins the World Series. A .600 winning percentage in September is neither a necessary nor sufficient cause for winning a World Series. At the same time, it sure would be nice to be healthier and performing at a higher level.
