  1. Fans of successful franchises can be a spoiled lot. There are some Packers fans who want McCarthy and Thompson canned too.
  2. Other than the hubbub about Thames earlier in the season what other Brewer is talked about nationally? I doubt non-Brewers fans know who Shaw and Knebel are. We'll probably only get one player named by the NL manager and he won't get in the game until late, if at all, and it will most likely be Thames. Perhaps he can get in the Home Run Derby? He hasn't hit worth a dam in a weeks so I don't think this will jinx him going forward...
  3. Why are we trying to steal there? If Aguilar gets a hold of one we get the lead. IMO it wasn't worth the risk there. When you are trying to make a comeback in the 9th you can't give away outs.
  4. That was Brenly I heard on ESPN last night? They aired what he said on the AZ broadcast.
  5. CC said after the game it was back spasms. He looked like he was in some pain there. I was watching ESPN late last night and evidently the AZ announcers was complaining that this break because of an injury was interfering with the D-Backs' momentum. Good lord...
  6. I don't understand that either. Or a guy swinging at a pitch on 3-0 when the pitcher can't find the plate at all, especially if you need base runners.
  7. I wonder if having many friends and family at the game he was trying too hard?
  8. Yes, of all the areas on the big club that need help the most it is the bullpen. It will be fun to see him pitch.
  9. For the second time in 3 games I knew as soon as CC put Feliz out there we were screwed. I do believe it is time to eat his contract, release him and bring somebody up from AAA. He reminds me of Axford - once they lose it its over.
  10. This is just flat out wrong. I know you hate his bat but you should probably check stats before you assume. He's been slowly progressing this season and hitting pretty well for about a month now. Arcia getting days off is much like Domingo and Broxton last season. I trust CC to know what he's doing with these guys. If anyone is slumping at the plate right now it is Broxton.
  11. Yes, Aguilar trying to take out the lead runner was a mistake. That run didn't mean anything. Getting outs did. The biggest problem with this team is they play stupid baseball at times. They get caught off the bases, they don't call off teammates when going for pop-ups and they are too aggressive at the plate when they don't have to be. If the opposing pitcher can't find throw a strike why in the hell are you swinging and putting yourself out? This is the same crap we saw last year. Is it just inexperience or is it coaching - or lack thereof?
  12. Torres had pitched well the last 12 games( per TH).....only others left were Scahill( obviously held back for long relief) and Feliz who is ... Feliz. So no good options.....the pen stinks other then the 2 guys who couldn't,pitch today. And yet this RP situation comes after SPs going deeper than they do the previous 3games. Easy to Agree though, the moment the bases get loaded someone needs to be warming in the pen. Walk a run in, that guy comes in to the game. With Torres throwing just Cut Fastballs and he walks in a run, you can predict what happened. What I found inexcusable is Counsell didn't have anybody else even warming up just in case Torres struggled. Nobody wants to see Feliz but would Scahill had been any worse yesterday?? And if the pen is as terrible as it appears then something should be done. Perhaps we should bring up somebody from AAA. It is criminal to lose a game like that with a 3 run lead in the top of the 9th. I'm almost dreading today's game...
  13. Why not have somebody - ANYBODY - up, just in case Torres bombs? How could any of the guys still out there be worse?
  14. As soon as I saw Feliz come in I knew we were screwed. Nice job Counsell. Good lord, there had to be somebody better than that clown in the bullpen!
  15. Didn't Anderson get 2 dumps of Gatorade on his head during the post game interview?
  16. One unfortunate thing about all these bumps and bruises is if we want to trade him later this summer it will not be easy. What team - even an AL team with the DH - is going to want an injury prone 33 year old player? I have a feeling we are stuck with him.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. What in the hell was CC doing here, saving his pen? smh
  18. Maybe after this stunt the league will change the rule so MLB has the final say.
  19. It appears the Brewers weren't all that keen on postponing this game.
  20. Why do hitters in situations like this even bother to swing when the pitcher can't find the strike zone to save his life?
