  1. Sorry but as much as I'd like it to happen, i'm calling that one from Morosi..... http://i68.tinypic.com/992y4y.jpg
  2. What kept fans interested before there was any national title game at all? They're going to continue to preserve the bowl system while trying to crown a true, deserving national champion based on regular season results, as they should. Letting 8 teams in the playoffs gives undeserving teams a shot. Let's just name it the "SEC playoffs" and cut to the chase. Who are you to decide that a #5 team is "deserving" of a shot? It's not a matter of undeserving or deserving teams, what is the point of having 2 or 3 SEC teams every year with one bookmarked for Alabama and a token B1G/etc team? Dump the garbage cash cow bowl games that nobody gives a rip about and give us some real football games. Did the Packers "deserve" a spot in the 2010-2011 playoffs? After all, they barrrrrrely snuck in. Your argument has no merit IMO and it's why I watched precisely 0 minutes of NCAA Football this year. It's worse than the NBA where you have known before the season even started for years that it was Golden State v Cleveland and the rest were just putting time in and cashing their checks. The Rose Bowl is cool and a great honor, but maybe you'd prefer the Badgers just hang some Rose Bowl Participant banners up rather than some national playoff/title banners. What do I know?
  3. How do I get a GM job? Good lord these folks running MLB operations are dumb. Enjoy that albatross Washington.
  4. I am done being a Packer fan if we hire McDaniels. After he hung the Colts high and dry (as well as the staff he hired) he doesn't belong getting any interviews anywhere IMO. A sure sign of immaturity.
  5. This post is perfect. It fits all of what I felt last night and today. If he couldn't hang 45 on anyone with Rodgers, why would he hang 45 on us with Baker Mayfield? I don't think folks truly wish ill will on Mike McCarthy, in fact I would guess they all think he is a very nice man with a nice family and that he has represented the franchise admirably for the past decade +. (At least I am that way). It is merely pent up frustration by fans with rightfully high standards that they have seen the train wreck coming for several years now and voiced quite publicly to no avail. If it weren't for Caleb Hanie we wouldn't even have the 2011 Super Bowl. The signs have been there for many years. You can blame Ted Thompson/Management for passing on elite level talents falling right into our lap than McCarthy. (Khalil Mack, Randy Moss at least once, should have went after Jimmy Graham in 2014/2015 instead of this over the hill 2018 version, etc etc etc). There was ALWAYS the solid leads of us taking a look, but then as ALWAYS, Ted Thompson and friends were irritated that they couldn't go to the dime store and purchase a HOF talent for about $2.99 and pass. I always wonder what got into them the day they went totally out of character and signed Julius Peppers. At least we have all of those Pac-10 DL/LB and all those busted OL to show for not giving Rodgers weapons for years and conserving draft picks right?
  6. Regardless of the name, he has legit chops and credentials to be mentioned as a HC candidate. But yeah, holy pressure trying to win the trophy named after his gramps while working on the street named after him. Would be one heck of a cool story, though. It wouldn't surprise me if we interviewed him...he has some legit experience and obviously is revered by Brees because he went right back there after the Lions cleaned house in the middle of the year a few years back.
  7. Why mad at Crosby? He's finally going to get MM fired. 5 years too late. Embrace the SUCK. It'll make this season delicious and enjoyable.
  8. You must have missed the 63 - 32 loss to Indiana at Camp Randall back in 2001. I was going to say that game against Cal Poly in 2008 but it turns out they actually won that. Might as well have been a loss. That was a 7-win year plus an embarrassing bowl performance. "One of". The Gophers are an atrocious football team...lets not forget they let a winless (and HIDEOUS) Nebraska team hang a 53 burger on them a few weeks back as well as a 55 burger by Illinois soon after. Of course there have been other moments.
  9. That loss was one of the most embarassing moments of the past 20-25 years that I have been alive and conscious of Badger football. Absolutely pathetic.
  10. They are embarassing and should be taken out behind the shed.
  11. But I thought signing Jimmy "over the hill" Graham about 4 years too late was a brilliant move and adding a toy? At least that's what I was told. This team is annoying. Why bother watching this garbage when you can watch talent like Mahomes, Goff/Gurley, etc perform at a high level? Don't give me the "i'm not a true Packer fan if I feel this way" stuff either...i'm 30 years into my life and have watched more than my share of Packer games. This particular team is among the most obnoxious I have seen in some time. THEY BARELY BEAT THE 49ERS ! Thank God McCarthy is toast...I don't think a deep playoff run even saves him at this point. Nice man with i'm sure a nice family, but it's time to move on. I'll never forgive him and to a slightly lesser extent Ted Thompson for wasting a decade of Aaron Rodgers in the fashion they have.
  12. He is god awful beyond any measure. He is the Nathan Peterman of college football.
  13. Except his is a malcontent jerk and has ruined every situation he has ever been in. I wouldn't want anyone who is content in those situations to be honest. The blame goes to Chicago's window closing and Derrick Rose still thinking he was the star in Chicago, and to lazy bums like Wiggins and Towns getting supermax deals despite not giving 1/10th the effort that Butler does. Butler is an incredible competitor and he'll do fine in Philly. Saying all the right things and never raising a fuss but being lazy and entitled is a much worse quality in a teammate than what Butler does. I don't disagree on Wiggins, but i've heard some *rumors* that would give Towns good reason to not give a care to what Butler tells him. I would too if it was true. Butler is a first class @__ regardless of that and put it on full display this preseason if there was any doubt about it.
  14. I'd throw Aaron Judge into the maybe/yes area.
  15. Bucks have been toying with the Warriors....man this is fun. (yes i'm sure GS will make a run in the 4th)
  16. McCarthy is one of the best coaches in the league. McCarthy is one of the best coaches in Packers history. But..as Walsh said...you have a lifespan of 10 years in the NFL. After that, your message gets stale. Look at Andy Reid. He was run outta Philly after 5 trips to the NFCG...and now his offense looks brand new after a few years in KC. I think MM will be similar. I just hope we can hit on the FIRST coach we hire after MM and not waste 2-3 more years in the meantime. One of the best in the league because he piggybacked off Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers and ran up his career wins total? We've thrown away another year of Aaron Rodgers doing this stupidity. The guy is unimaginative, won't play his best players, and is flat garbage. Belichick won with Matt Cassel. Tomlin won with Landry freaking Jones. Zimmer won with Case Keenum and whoever else on the QB carousel over there. Pete Carroll as much as I hate him is a better coach. Sean McVay is running circles around McCarthy and pretty much the rest of the league. Sean Payton is a good coach. Nagy is pulling a miracle with Trubisky. Mike McCarthy has aborted seasons with Brett Hundley among others. Give me a break on the best coaches in the league stuff, he's barely top 10. Elite coaches don't plant players like Aaron Jones on the bench while continuing to force guys like Randall Cobb in there who is washed up aside from a couple fluke bombs the past few years implanted in our memories. Only the idiots like the Dolphins, Browns, Bengals, etc coaches do.
  17. How about we quit whining about it and actually score runs to send him home for the winter? Or if hes really that obnoxious throw behind him or something. Being someone that remembers Randy Moss mooning the crowd and laughing at it I really could care less what Machado did so long as we beat him for it. Don't we enjoy rivalries? This is how they develop. The same thing happened with the Celtics and Bledsoe, and again we didn't shut them up for it.
  18. Sit Ryan Braun? The absurdity has reached all time highs. The TEAM isn't hitting. Now if we want to talk about guys that shouldn't see the field, why did Schoop see an entire game's worth of hideous at bats for the first time in 10 days as Travis Shaw warmed the bench? There was ample opportunity to PH for him as well later in the game.
  19. Maybe they should go out on a limb for once in their lives and trade for David Johnson (and then use him more than 15 snaps a game). Clearly the Cardinals give Zero blanks about actually using the man for what he's good at doing.
  20. Favre is the only guy who had a HoF level WR on his team. Freeman, Brooks, Driver, Sharpe, Javon Walker, Chmura, Ahmann Green. I mean, nostalgia is what it is, but I'd take that group over Jordy, Jennings, Driver, Cobb, Adams, Finley(?) and... who at RB? I mean, I have no idea. Josh Gordon............................
  21. I've been a long MM supporter, but I'm starting to turn. The stale offense really stuns me. Tom Brady beats this team by 25. Absolutely pathetic to have AR on this team and this garbage continues....year after year after year.
  22. Watching CJ Beathard hang 35 on us in our own building is embarassing. There, you got me to comment...back to a real operation and their winning now. Making my weekly plea for Mike McCarthy to get fired, but he'll never stop coaching this team (poorly).
  23. Someday? I used to be a devout CFB watcher and never missed a Badger game. Now its basically when they lose i'm done, and I watch negative 0 minutes of any other game. Bring on the basketball season.
  24. They were losing 24 - 0 at halftime. Williams is a stud in pass protection. They passed a lot in the 2nd half. He's a stud you say? What's Aaron Jones in pass protection then? This is no different than McCarthy telling us how great Hundley was every single week and that he knew better than the rest of us on the subject.
