  1. Should be fired for even thinking we're dumb enough to accept that answer. 1 batter. The attitude displayed when asked the question was ridiculous to boot. CC is a joke
  2. Gilbert who? Harrison who? Not that Gio at this stage of his career is any huge prize but we gave nothing up to strengthen the staff a bit.
  3. What's interesting? I don't hate giving something a shot but let's face the reality that the Colts didn't want him either, regardless of system change. And their defense is baaaaaaad. Good players generally (?) adapt to systems. One scrub for another scrub and hope it ends up benefitting both sides rather than hitting the waiver wire, that's all it is.
  4. Busy trading Pipkins for that scrub Colts LB. that "scrub" was not a fit for a 4-3. He works well as a 1st down MLB for GB. That's a very shrewd move by BG. I don't hate the move, but Morrison is just another poor man's version of AJ Hawk, Barnett, Nickerson etc...racks up tackles yet doesn't make a real impact. We need the depth though so any warm body helps, especially at near zero cost. I'd just prefer we overpay for Mack and make a statement that it's time to get serious on defense. Antonio Morrison ain't making ARodge happy.
  5. When can we make this happen? (it aint)
  6. Busy trading Pipkins for that scrub Colts LB.
  7. Can't be said any better than this.
  8. THIS POST HAS BEEN DELETED FOR VIOLATING THE SITE RULES REGARDING CURSING. Please don't do it again. I know it is an emotional moment, but it isn't needed.
  9. I'd like to think adding Harvey would allow us to keep most starters on a VERY VERY short leash. If Peralta is struggling in the 2nd inning, done. The idea of a 6 man rotation is interesting specifically because of our schedule. In September we play 6 games a week with every Thursday off. Anderson and Guerra specifically have proven they are much more sharp with extra rest. You could have starters pitching once a week with Davies and Woodruff available in long relief should any struggle. They would already get an extra day off without a 6 man rotation. I wouldn't want to take 2 starts away from both Anderson and Chacin in Sept and give them to Harvey. No way. Especially when they're already getting an extra day rest all month. Anderson gives great confidence? Harvey is better than 2018 Chase imo.
  10. Because we are a couple minor injuries away from Aaron Wilkerson making meaningful playoff race starts. Yeah, but you are also talking about someone who is going to make a stink if he isn't starting. So we better have a clear plan going forward. Seems to me chemistry is an asset for this team. He ain't no Doc Medich. I sure hope they don't give away Derby for him, that is too much. The Reds lost all leverage. It better be someone much further down the food chain and cash. I hardly think Harvey will be a problem no matter his role as long as he's pitching when he's stuck in that dump for the rest of the season otherwise vs pitching in pennant races.
  11. Oh boy I can't wait...hardest ticket of the year to find.
  12. First, yes, we might need another arm and these guys could fit that need. Again, though, I posted this every time somebody mentions Shields and his innings-eating abilities... The reason Shields goes 7 is because the White Sox are tanking. When the White Sox lead 3-2 and Shields loads the bases in the 6th, he stays in. Also, they have a DH so no worries about that. When the Brewers lead 3-2 with Shields and he loads the bases in the 6th, Counsell is walking out there and bringing in Josh Hader. Say what?
  13. That’s $35M for those three guys even IF Moose accepts. I can’t see us keeping Schoop at that price. Ditto Soria. Moose would want a multi year deal I’d think and without draft pick penalty he will get more than $15M AAV. I'm all for keeping Moose assuming he plays well down the stretch. Schoop will probably end up OK but i'll pass on that 10 million.....ditto with Soria, bullpen arms are somewhat easy to find if you actually put your mind to it.
  14. Or you just don't beat yourselves. Good thing we saved Hader and Jeffress last night....really needed them today!
  15. Why pull him now Craig? You already threw that game down the toilet....did you just wake up from your beauty nap?
  16. So glad the Brewers made it a 3-2 game and had the momentum, only for Counsell to send the dumpster dive blue light special Jordan Lyles back out there for a 2nd inning....promptly to blow it. I don't care what kind of leash CC has because he's one of us but there's no excuse for this. Hader hasnt pitched in a week, Jeffress 1IP in the past 8 days. Hello CC ?
  17. "Be nice to see Kratz get on base" Yes, why yes it would, since it only happens about once a month.
  18. Saints a top pick? Apparently somebody wasn't watching Alvin Kamara last year.
  19. I'd give him CM3's money since hes coming off the books. Get 5-6 years younger with a possibly better in his prime player? Those types don't grow on trees let alone come available often. That’s tempting, I know. If it were 2 FRPs for a prime player on a value contract, absolutely. If it were just a matter of signing him as a FA, no question. It’s both that trouble me. Plus, Clay makes north of $10 million. I believe Mack will command closer to $20 million per season. I'm starting to think Aaron is getting fed up with this organization for not doing what it takes...he seems to be starting to be more vocally frustrated about little things than he used to. Sure we signed a name in Graham but he likely is at the end or close to it. Unless we acquire a gamechanging talent soon I fear rodgers may hit the road when he has the opportunity.

  21. Where were we going to keep all these prospects? Is our Rule 5 stash list bigger than everyone else's? The only one on that list I am a bit disappointed about is Medeiros, but such is life and there will be another Medeiros down the line. Lopez, Cordell are very meh, Phillips is about as busty as Brinson, and Ortiz is an injury waiting to happen.
