I’d be good with that too. I’m somewhat skeptical he’d succeed. But he’s earned the chance.
edit - saw your post above and you’ve convinced me. I’m in on Ashby being a lite version of 2018 Hader.
Agree with this. Would it be cool to see Ashby as a 1 inning guy who can really use all his gas and maybe be a power lefty? Yeah it would. But his role now gives the high leverage bullpen guys off days and until yesterday he’s been awesome. They’re using him just fine.
Personally I’d love to go with a six man rotation. Mis, Woody, Freddy, Priester, Quintana, Cortes. If we trade JQ then give Myers a shot. Patrick next guy up.
But Patrick over Myers (or QP if he struggles) is reasonable too.
I think Joey is going to get a lot of leash. He was playing SS for the first time at the MLB level. It took him awhile to settle in but now he’s looking comfortable. And the at bats have improved a lot. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
Yeah I thought he pitched great yesterday. Arenado beat him but it was a great battle. Then a well placed bunt. Still managed to get out of it. He was executing well.
1. completely agree.
2. I was at the game last night against Lorenzen, and Turang and Yelich both had good opportunities to steal and didn't. So I'm probably just letting that impact my opinion more than I should.
It's possible. I did about 15 lbs in 3-4 months. and I wasn't working nearly as hard as these guys are and was taking 0 supplements and wasn't that focused on my diet. I was pretty thin to start out with so that may have contributed, but it is possible. There are always anomalies.
