  1. But how good would it feel to send them home?
  2. Either way, I’m glad it’s looking like this is gonna go 3 games.
  3. Maybe. But statistically the brewers have a better offense, defense, rotation, and bullpen than the Cubs. Thats where I’d like to take my chances. But you’re right that it’s San Diego’s top arms and bullpen that worry me.
  4. Yeah it just feels like the Padres are way more dangerous than the Cubs.
  5. Very happy we got the one seed and don’t have to deal with LA this weekend.
  6. this ump in the Reds Dodgers game is READY. Wonder if he'll call strikes that loud all night. Ohtani is incredible.
  7. Yeah that makes sense. I was 14 in 2004 but I remember watching that series and the constant coverage of it.
  8. I don't know. When I go to AmFam and listen to the fans talk, over 99% of the chatter is casual/dumb. I think there are tons of casuals, and ratings jumped this year.
  9. Because he’s the one guy on our team who doesn’t have the best plate discipline, so forcing them to throw strikes should improve him as a hitter. But I don’t think it’s a great reason. I’d like them to roll with Sal at lead off
  10. Also they beat us 3 of 5 at Wrigley not 3 of 4.
  11. The padres beat us in the season series too. Horton is out until game 5. The cubs pitching is significantly worse than the padres in a 5 game series. Their offense has scuffled. Other than the fact that it’s the Cubs, it feels like a no brainer.
  12. And Priester gets two starts against them. I know they played us tough in the regular season but we’re the better team.
  13. Give me the cubs. They have a worse team and are a better matchup. If they eliminate us, so be it. The risk is worth the reward of sweeping them and sending them home.
  14. Honestly though when’s the last time Miz has been an uncomfortable at bat for anyone? He’s not throwing strikes and teams are hitting him. He hasn’t proven he can be a reliable starter or reliever. Maybe in the NLCS when we need more arms/length. But in a 5 game series with three off days I just can’t see it. For pitchers I’d go: Peralta, Priester, Quintana, Koenig, Uribe, Mears, Ashby, Hall, Megill, Patrick, Gasser, Rob Z. Would be cool with Myers over Z too and would lean Z if it’s against the Padres.
  15. Define schedule
  16. With Horton injured, I'd prefer to play the Cubs. I think the Padres win the series though. This is the first time I've felt good about our chances in a series since 2018. But I like our chances a lot more if it's Chicago.
  17. Plus really good bullpen innings. I might trust Chad Patrick more than everyone other than Megill, Uribe, and Ashby at this point. Those four plus Koenig give us a lot of reliable, high velo guys in the pen. The less I need to see Anderson and Mears in big innings the better.
  18. absolutely. I love the posters that come here with emotion. I just get annoyed by those who only express their negative emotions.
  19. Respect the hell out of that Marlins team. A lot of young talent and a lot of pride.
  20. Really good statistical September for Jansen.
  21. For sure. I think Mis is the guy left off. Patrick definitely has value in a series.
  22. I guess my perspective is what's the point of having that fear? It's either going to happen or it's not. if it does we can all be pissed/mad/sad/mad at that point. No need to borrow grief from the future and suffer twice.' I try to be a realist and realistically we are a couple innings a away from wrapping up the most successful regular season in franchise history. And we also may struggle in the playoffs. But one of those is happening and worth celebrating and the other one remains to be seen. /end rant and go brewers.
  23. I think this is where a lot of us disagree. Some of us don't come here to ***** and moan. We come here to celebrate and talk about a team who may end up with the most wins in franchise history. And the constant whining and negative talk is annoying. Not saying it's wrong to come here to vent, just trying to offer another perspective.
