  1. How do you miss something that obvious? It's the only thing you're looking at.
  2. Don't disagree. But they're making it tough to finish innings and finish at bats because they're really good.
  3. Counter - Buehler hasn't allowed more than 3 runs in a game since July 11th. To be fair some short outings in there too. But if he has a bad night they'll pull him immediately with a rested bullpen and King going game 2. edit - just saw Ray is going, disregard.
  4. I agree the manager can't do much to overcome talent deficiencies in the roster, and CC didn't make any bad decisions. But a manager/leader CAN set culture. And CC is always so tight and nervous. That rubs off on a team. Not saying it's close to 100% his fault, but you could tell one of these teams was loose and one of them was tight, and that started before the first pitch.
  5. Yeah, Brewers would have rolled them like they did all year.
  6. Bro, what? He has one first round bounce and as many series wins in two years as Counsell won in 9.
  7. Different teams, but the Phillies battled them tough as hell last year. Couple of bounces and it could have gone the other way.
  8. To be fair, I was not considering 2020. That team had no shot. 2021 and 2023, though…..
  9. I was thinking about the Brewers playoff performances since 2018 the other day, and I completely agree. I think there's something with Craig's personality that tightens up the team. I know we lost to the Mets in Murph's first year, but you could just sense the team was so much looser. Part of that is youth, but I think a lot of it is Murphy vs. Counsell.
  10. They only need 5-6 innings with the top 3 out of their bullpen though, who will be fresh if they win tonight. The good news is Miz threw a gem against them and Logan had a good start too. And they haven't seen Gasser. They got to Harrison but obviously they won't be seeing him. Miz will be 1, Henderson game 2, I'd guess Gasser gets game 3. Bullpen game in game 4. Could reverse 3/4. Then if there's a game 5 you have Miz, Henderson, Uribe, and Megill all fresh.
  11. I think you’re underestimating the psychology of playoff baseball. The Padres have full belief they can win it all right now. The cubs don’t.
  12. We can beat them, but it’s going to be a battle. the Cubs are not built for it.
  13. I think we beat either team. But I do think it's more stress free against the Cubs. We'll get a couple wins by 4-5 runs just like last year when their pitching implodes. I like our chances vs. SD too, but the games will be a grind.
  14. Yep. And they averaged 5.6 runs per game in September. They're on fire. Their offense is hot and obviously they have the bullpen. Not like their top few starters are bad either. 41-18 since July 23rd. Give me the Cubs all day.
  15. You’re probably right, and I was saying it in jest. And I have no concern that umps are biased against the brewers .
  16. My first takeaway was why are umps so bad during brewers games?
  17. I think the Cubs are the clear answer. Padres have the pitching to keep our offense at bay. The Cubs do not. Their hitting might score more but the pitching is so bad it shouldn't matter. Of course they could beat us, but I think the Padres have WAY more paths to win. The only answer against the Cubs is that we don't want to lose to the Cubs, and I don't think that's a good answer.
  18. Have my thoughts but wanted to get a discussion going. Who do you want to play?
  19. He'd be my guy for game 3 regardless, but agree he can lock it up tonight.
