  1. What was Walker's OPS last year when we was essentially landed for spare change? 780 plus Bad back and $17M salary. Also can’t play SS.
  2. I’m not seeing landing a 820 OPS middle infielder for spare change.
  3. Agreed. We have been to the playoffs 4 times. We are deep in the hunt now so why not try to win?
  4. Chacin, Junior, and Anderson are not win now players. I’m referring to age, not skill. Cain of course is a win now move because he is excellent but he is also 32. As for the rotation, their age does not say 4-5 year window.
  5. You’re not rebuilding when you have a rotation of Chacin, Junior, and Anderson, and you sign Cain at 32. You’re trying to win now. While this last two week stretch has been awful, the fact is we are leading the WC race now so we are in fact winning. Holes plentiful, but winning. He still has until the 31st to patch the holes we have so this thread is a bit premature.
  6. They did that. That's how they got Dudley. The problem was a year later they traded Dudley for nothing and traded the 1st they got with Dudley for Grievis Vasquez. We really are a stupid team.
  7. If these guys will be a rule 5 problem for us, they will be a rule 5 problem for the team that trades for them too. It's not like our current 40 man is that stacked compared to other rosters.
  8. Excellent WAR. Plays 4 positions. 4 years of team control.
  9. Here we go with the Grisham and Villar for a former 5 WAR trade offers.
  10. This is such a Brewers 11-3 win tonight. Just enough to get us all excited until the Sunday blues. Actually that just made me hungry from some BBQ.
  11. I don't see Villar or Broxton being trade chips for impact rentals. Prove me wrong.
  12. A SS with a 827 OPS? That would be quite an addition. I'm not feeling a Walker level trade value.
  13. They are all the same theme. Just search twitter. I’m not saying they are “that bad”, just saying in today’s SJW climate few would survive without a very public apology.
  14. Are they being raked over the coals too? You’re answering your own question. Just a guess but I’d think in a baseball locker room their tweets aren’t all that uncommon. They sure seemed comfortable with their language and they weren’t 17. You know any alpha HS and college male jocks who speak in terms of sensitivity and diversity?
  15. No more trading first round picks for old players.
  16. I’d think it will be something like Phillips for Dozier.
  17. Merrifield, Trout, and Schwarber apparently had tweets that weren’t all that great too.
  18. I blame them for not having this cleaned up before it became a story. I can't believe they don't (or didn't because I'm sure they do now) have someone in their marketing / PR department who's job it was to review social media for all the players in their organization. If you read past the line you quoted of my post, you will see that I pretty much agree with you. I don't think the Brewers should be blamed for the content of Hader's tweets prior to him becoming a Brewer. I do believe they should do some forensic searching to point out to players that there are posts that are objectionable. Remember we still live in a democracy. While the Brewers (as his employer) have a very good argument that they can control his twitter and social media (as these reflect directly upon Hader's employer), they do not have the right to regulate his prior twits (i.e. Free Speech)... It's a fine line, but they can tell him that all of his social media releases must be "approved" and they can tell him that his past needs to be cleaned up before he's allowed to continue with approval posting on social media. They can't tell him to delete pre-Brewers stuff outright, but I assume since he has shown contrition that if they had flagged these from when he was 17 that he would have deleted them himself... An employer can't control what you do in your private life, but they can argue that given the type of job/industry that they are in that a player really has no private life when they post under their own name... Agreed and to take it a step further I’m shocked his agent and friends and family didn’t go over his social media. It’s not like it’s that time consuming.
  19. Boston seems to do ok getting high draft picks. They didn’t draft high on their own picks. They traded for picks which is something we don’t do. We love to trade first round picks which is a strategy I will never understand.
