  1. apparently several people talking very civilly to each other, what's wrong with that. as opposed to the folks shouting at them to stop
  2. But it's falling straight down and he's in front of the wall by a bit. He mgiht not have had to jump. It's close, I don't think anyone's crazy. 3 good plays in 2 days from him. Great job Williams. he looked great, let him roll for the 9th
  3. I trust him Williams more, so this is the way I would go. Both have been hot. hope it keeps going. I don't think Barnes has given up a run since he came back up. And Williams multiple scoreless in a row
  4. I just watched it again and I'm on the Braun camp so to speak. First, the dive catch was actually a more impressive play. For the HR, I kind of though being a bit in front of the wall and that he caught that as he was going up and kind of carried it to the wall himself. As in, he didn't catch it at the peak of his jump, he caught lower and then brought it to the peak. Of course, not a big deal either way. But IMO I think it's short.
  5. Going Williams first, keep going well man. I trust Barnes more so I'd have started there but this is fine too.
  6. I'd be fine with Perez at SS to get a righty. Arcia is just terrible right now
  7. Jokes aside, you really don't think Braun robbed a HR last night? I think he ws far enough in front of the wall that the ball wouldn't have gone out. Just my opinion but I thought it was fairly obvious.
  8. A few badger mutual insurance runs would be nice to save Jeffress for tomorrow. Might try to anyway with a 4 run lead. Barnes in the 8th, see how it goes from there. Maybe try to do two if he's low on pitches. Williams otherwise if still up 4 or in the ninth. Jeffress for any shenanigans. I think that's my plan right now
  9. I'd probably have him 3rd on my list. Assuming Jeffress can do an inning. Knebel/Hader unavailable
  10. Who do we trust tonight? Jeffress should be able to do one and then get the next two days off. After that, Barnes? I really don't trust either 'lefty specialists'
  11. I really can't believe the argument about his playing career is going again. This was brought up weeks ago and beaten to death. There is no way that should be factored in, it's really that simple and shouldn't need to be explained to people into baseball enough to be posting on a board like this one. That said, I wouldn't be opposed or surprised if he was let go at some point if they don't get it going consistently. They've unperformed for about his whole tenure, basically other than the first 6 weeks last year. I don't think it'll happen though with them at the top of division and best record in NL (or at least really close to both) as they are now.
  12. Well I'd guess it's not a clear injury and more of a toss him a rest situation and last night was the telltale sign of it as opposed to going into knowing of an injury. As someone said in another thread the velocity was down. Maybe a legit injury is there we'll see, but my guess it's just a dead arm, sore shoulder, etc and this is to just get a break
  13. For all the ripping on this guy here and other non-Brewers places I was shocked to see a sub 4 ERA from him today
  14. After this though you're going to have like 30 games in 31 days, only one day off until the break. Shuffling is going to be tough in that stretch. Also, it's gonna be Davies you'd think here and then he'll just stick like a normal starter. I guess it's been silent on him but didn't seem overly serious or anything but if he's back you're into your normal 5 man rotation setup with him, Chase, Suter, Chacin, Guerra. Of course there's time for another injury somewhere to make all this talk moot.
  15. But they need to add a SP next week sometime right. So you'll have to add 3 guys if no one gets hurt you'd think these guys are down: Sogard, Arcia and then shockingly Santana is in trouble.
  16. Tough luck. And Trout is a FA after 2020 so they would potentially only get one year overlap and it'll be the first year back for Ohtani, which is usually a bit of a struggle.
  17. Velocity still there? He was sitting 88-90 and touched 91 once. His first pitch was a 4 seamer at 88, middle up, nothing more than a BP fastball. If anything is wrong with him or he's got a dead arm or whatever I agree on a 10 day DL stint for Albers. Otherwise he needs to be the 6th or 7th arm in the pen right now. I'd like to see Ramirez and Torres-Costa promoted to AAA immediately and then take the most successful of the two in a month. I'd promote whoever in the meantime, Lopez or Houser I guess. I've got no use for Logan anymore and they should just cut their losses with him. Basically all of the pen struggles coincided with when they finally activated him off the DL. Missed that last night then but I thought in previous games he was still fine, could be wrong though. I do think I had my contacts out last night by the time he was pitching so that explains it, haha. and his fastball usually moves a bit and obviously slider has good bite. But yea if speed was down last night that's usually an obvious sign there, guy needs a rest.
  18. If he continues to flail like he did last night I'd guess he's back to AAA whenever they bring Miller up and/or Salad is back. He seems to have no shot at the plate right now
  19. Albers might need a 10 day DL to just refresh or rest. he was good until recently. velocity still there. I don't see why he can't be a solid contributor but just might need a recharge like Barnes got
  20. The worst part of the Cubs fans there is they think every fly ball is a HR. It's actually comical at this point to listen to. Ones not even close or clearly without the sounds off the bat. Every fly ball.
  21. pitcher's spot 3rd next inning. The grittiness of Sogard will get the W one more time
  22. I'm assuming they'll try Knebel here and I have no confidence in it right now
  23. #SCTop10 if the runner was slower. the one he had in the hole to make a perfect throw with no bounce was crazy good too
  24. Missed tag on a player trying to advance to 2nd on a flyout. Didn’t know how quick he had to be...and was too quick. Everyone is freaking out because he had so much time...but not like Villar knew that. If it would have been closer and he bobbled it no one bats an eye...just my opinion. being Villar he gets heat no matter what. It's frustrating but it happens in baseball. He didn't do anything stupid, sometimes the ball just pops out
  25. 2 run Braun to left and deep. Jeffress 123 9th, go to sleep.
