Cousins is a nice arm to have. I thought his slider looked a bit cement mixery. But, the data seems to show otherwise. Hopefully he is indeed a Feyereisen replacement.
Dont know much about this guy beyond his numbers. One look at his numbers suggests that he has been consistent. Unfortunately, consistently awful. Hopefully we never see this guy in a Brewers uniform.
He's been so bad that I actually do think an outright release is an option. I think they give him at least another 6 weeks. But if he is terrible on August 1 you gotta think about cutting bait. He's been so bad that he is actually hurting the team more than helping. Horrible signing.
Absolutely have to think a trade is in the works. We more or less have black holes at 1B and 3B, two power positions. If we want to compete, that must change.
While I agree that the Brewers need to beat the teams like that DBacks that they should beat, I don't think what the Cubs are currently doing with more than 100 games to go in the season has any bearing on that. +1. I really don't care about what the Cubs are doing. The Brewers have handled the Cubs quite well this year. The Brewers just need to take care of business against the bad teams they play over the next 5 weeks. 3 of 4 is absolutely necessary.
I am of the opinion that he is going to need to go to AAA and completely rework his approach in favor of more contact. If some of the power goes out the window so be it. You cannot K at a 40% clip and make it in the big leagues. Also doesn't help that he is known as a bad fielder.
I really think that the injury changed him. I think he knew it and inked a deal before anyone would know he's diminished. The Brewers fell for it and it may haunt the franchise for years.
Hiura and Shaw have been so bad, that it would actually be difficult for Green to be worse. I see zero harm in sending Hiura down and Green up. If Green is putrid, then fine, recall Hiura and cut/demote Green.
It makes me wonder if he was intentionally tanking while he was here. Didn't he say he'd rather be in Baltimore? And they were the worst team in baseball. I think there was some truth to that. Wasn’t he very pouty while he was here? He was very vocal that he was not happy with the trade. But I doubt any player nearing the end of his contract would intentionally tank.
