  1. Adames 3 for 3. I feel like he has had more 3 hit games in 2 months than Arcia had in 4 years.
  2. Things have been eerily quiet on the Brewers front. I am wondering is Stearns did most of his shopping early this year.
  3. Exactly. If someone is backing up the Brinks truck, the offer wouldn't be "on the table." It would be signed sealed and delivered.
  4. Here's my list with some brief commentary: * Note: Edited to remove Hummel (#14), Payton Henry (#31), and Reese Olson (#40) 1. Garrett Mitchell - Appears to have a chip on his shoulder. Killed ST and A+. Might be the steal of the 2020 draft, but needs to develop power. 2. Hedbert Perez - Hard to believe he's only 18. I should have him at #1, but he's only 5' 10" and is really young. 3. Ethan Small - You believe or you dont. Overshadowed because he doesn't throw gas. I think he's a mid-rotation starter or elite reliever. 4. Mario Feliciano - I may be a bit bullish on Mario. But, a catcher who can hit? Maybe? 5. Joe Gray - Physical specimen with power. High ceiling. 6. Sal Frelick - Hated the pick. Reminds me of Cole Calhoun with less power. Needs to be an OBP machine to be an everyday player. Might move through the system fast. 7. Brice Turang - Unless he develops power he's Alcides Escobar/Orlando Arcia part 3. I'm only putting him here because he's young. 8. Dylan File - I'm higher on File than most. 9. Freddy Zamora - Doesn't get enough attention. He's my #1 sleeper on this list. 10. Tyler Black - I was a big fan of this pick. I think he could move through the system fast. 11. Aaron Ashby - My opinion of him was shattered by his debut. Tough to come back from. 12. Antoine Kelly - High ceiling. Big lefty who throws gas. Could be ranked about#3 or #50. 13. Alex Binelas - Fingers crossed the Brewers have a 3b prospect. 14. Russell Smith - Another one who could move through the system quickly. 15. Jake Cousins - Big fastball and nasty slider. __________________________ 16. Jeferson Quero - Likely to be in my top 10 next year. Could be now. I just want to see more. 17. Justin Topa 18. Miguel Sanchez 19. Luke Barker 20. Jheremy Vargas 21. Alec Bettinger 22. Thomas Dillard 23. Tristen Lutz 24. Max Lazar 25. Zavier Warren 26. Korry Howell 27. David Hamilton 28. Jackson Churio 29. Abner Uribe 30. Luis Medina 31. Evan Reifert 32. Jesus Parra 33. Eduardo Garcia 34. Ernesto Martinez 35. Felix Valerio 36. Eduarqui Fernandez 37. Je’Von Ward 38. Carlos Rodriguez 39. Justin Bullock 40. Clayton Andrews 41. Corey Ray
  5. Acquiring Inciarte would make no sense to me. Then again, Stearns does have a track record of acquiring players at positions where we seemingly don't need to make an acquisition.
  6. No question he makes at least one more move.
  7. Weber is/was terrible. I am okay never having to watch him pitch another inning for the Brewers.
  8. The Chubs really need a fire sale. Sadly, it looks like their management has smarted up to starting the sale early. I was really hoping they would hold out hope with a bad team and let some guys walk for nothing. Bummer. They will be a force again in 2-4 years.
  9. Welp. Guess you can stick a fork in the Chubs. Its going to be Brewers, Reds, and Cards. I refuse to ever declare the Cards dead.
  10. Walk the bases loaded up 3-0. Wow. Should be an automatic dfa. This is not going to end well.
  11. As others have lamented, a tough righty is on the mound so I am very surprised to see Hiura and not Tellez at 1B. I figured maybe Tellez had not arrived, but that is not the case.
  12. This. Adames has said he couldnt see the ball at Tropicana. He also feeds off the energy. Stearns was apparently after him for at least a year. Credit to Stearns for seeing saomething that none of us saw. Stearns found an underpeforming talent who was "surplus" in Tampa and used a strength to acquire him, IN JUNE.
  13. Yep. That was the Bettinger nightmare game.
  14. Mad respect for Lobaton. He could have easily jumped on Haders arm and ended our season.
  15. Huge +1. It is so painful. The pitching is so good, but it is being wasted by bums like Hiura and Bradley. *Edit - Yelich being very average is actually a bigger problem. If he cant figure it out the franchise will be crippled by that contract for years.
  16. This made my day! Hah! Thanks! Reminds me of the reports every spring that "X" player is in the "shape of his life."
  17. Ugh. I was really hoping Keston would spend a couple months down there. Recalling him now is more or less a repeat of the last go around. Hiura's all around AAA numbers are good. However, he has 26 K's in 72 AB's in AAA. Per my math that is a 36% clip. No bueno. Strikeout rate is based on plate appearances, not at bats. Hiura over this most recent stint at Triple-A struck out 13 times in 49 plate appearances. That’s a 26.5% strikeout rate over an obviously very small sample. If you add in his first trip to Triple-A this year then his strikeout rate rises to 29.2% on the season (in Triple-A). As mentioned previously, Hiura’s strikeout rate at Triple-A in 2019 prior to his call-up was 26.3%. Hmmmmm, I guess the bottom line is that it should not be surprising the guy has struck out in 33.5% of his major league plate appearances. If you are going to whiff at a 26% clip in AAA, that percentage is going to go up in the bigs.

  20. Very surprised to see they cut bait on Fisher so fast.
