I live in AZ and work with a bunch of Dbacks fans. Pfaadt was a really big part of their World Series run a few years ago. So he has a place in Dbacks lore. The fans and organization hold him in higher regard than they should. The closest player I can think of that is comparable for the Brewers is Tobias Myers and the big year he had in 2024. But imagine if Tobias took the crew to the WS last year?

This is where I have been. Stick with the "bite of the apple" approach. Stand pat. Let the next five years be a lot of fun with the young players coming up.

Yep. I think the pitching stuff will work ittself out. Never can have too much pitching. Put Freddy on a brief IL stint with "dead arm" and put in Cortes for a couple of starts, then go from there. And that is not even getting into the Brewers possibly losing Peralta, Cortes, Quintana, and Woodruff this winter.

You are very likely correct if the Arb 1 number is really $1.5 million or so.

Mitchell is arbitration eligible this offseason. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/06/brewers-garrett-mitchell-shoulder-surgery.html I personally think he is a prime non-tender candidate either this offseason, or if not, next offseason. Not sure the Brewers want to pay him $3-$4 million with all of the injuries when they have Chourio, Yelich, Frelick, Perkins, Collins. Just kind of goes against the way they have done business recently. Woodruff being the one exception.

Yep. With the current pitching glut, I would say there is a very high change they DFA/Offer him back to St. Louis in the offseason. I cannot see them trying to rehab him and get him a roster spot next year.

Not sure. However, the Brewers have been one of the most innovative teams. So, it wouldnt blow my mind.

If Suarez is on the trading block he will be one of the top bats availiable. I would be very surprised if this front office pays that premium. Would go very counter to the "bite of the apple" strategy.

Maybe not. He may be ready. Also, I guess if he is going to leave as a free agent the Brewers may not care and may be happy to "red-line" him to get value out of his contract. However, I have watched some of his interviews and he has talked a lot about "workload." I am not sure he feels ready to handle a regular workload of 6-7 innings every five days.

Big hell no.... Made alone could end up being about as good as Acuna is now. This is just not the type of trade the 2025 Brewers front office would make. -
I personally think we see one of the following with the starting pitcher glut, maybe both: 1. A seven man rotation. Limits innings for Miz and Woody. 2. Piggybacking. I think Priester goes back into the piggyback/finish games role. Maybe comes in after Quintana or Cortes. As far as trades go, I dont really know what they could do to improve the roster. I guess a stud SS or 3B, but I dont think they want to sell the farm to do that.

As always, in baseball I never like to put too much stock in any one game. However, with the smelly loss yesterday, and Skenes tomorrow, this feels like a big game. Cannot get swept at home by the Pirates.

Absolute cry baby move from Civale. Players are getting paid to help the team win. As a bottom of the rotation guy it was a really pathetic move to ask for a trade, much less publically. If he was a top of the rotation guy, maybe its slightly different. If they went behind the scenes and said to Arnold, "With the deadline looming, my client wouldnt mind going to a team where he can start." But doing it publically and immediately was bad. I will boo Civale loudly is I see him pitch in person.

I preached patience in April and early May. My hope was that the horses would come back and the Brewers would go on a little run and get some traction. Last week was it for me. 7 games against the Orioles and Pirates. Missed a chance to sweep the O's and lost two stinkers to the Pirates. 4-3 just wasnt going to do it versus those bad teams. Team needs to win something like 7 or 9 here at some point. The June schedule is pretty nasty, so I dont see it happening here the next 30 days.

Dont forget, the Miz got a serious look in Spring Training against big league hitters. He was really wild and frankly just didnt look good. His run at AAA has only been going about 6 weeks now. It may take a big more than 6 weeks to wash the poor Spring Training performance from the minds of Brewers brass.
