  1. Yep. I don't get the AAAA thing though. How can a guy be so dominant at AAA and just suck at MLB? Wilkerson is another example.
  2. It wasn’t that high leverage though. It’s the fifth inning. Now we have to get four more innings out of god knows who I would have rather have Claudio in the 7th against a lefty We just don’t get zeroes out of the pen like last year. Why pitch them more than starters Suter in to eat at least 2 innings.
  3. Huge AB here against Alfaro with two out.
  4. As far as I am concerned Jay Jackson and his 5.09 ERA can go the way of Jeffress or Chacin any day now...
  5. I agree. Stokes was their #20 prospect. He's a 40 hit and 40 arm guy who tops out at maybe a 5th OF. No loss if somebody else picks him up. Another+1. Stokes is an outfielder without big power, without excellent speed, and without big OBP numbers. To make matters worse he's not a big dude, so it is doubtful there is upside.
  6. Where does this idea that Weeks had a poor approach come from? He never had a poor approach and produced OBPs of .363 at age 23 and .374 at age 24. Weeks was notorious for repeatedly waiving at outside sliders. It was a hole in his approach the majority of his career, and ultimately his downfall.
  7. I'm guessing this is very skewed by his excellent 2017. He was basically an ace that year.
  8. Gotta think Pina is also let go this winter. Meanwhile Freitas is hitting almost .400 at AAA.
  9. I'm thinking his 2020 option should be declined. $8.5 million can be better spent elsewhere
  10. i haven't seen any confirmation of either player reporting yet. advantageous in that dca, iad and bwi all are within 45 - 60 minutes of nationals park. The Brewers are in a playoff race and I have to believe one of the limited partners in the ownership group has access to a private jet.
  11. Dont look now. Supak was shelled tonight, 10 hits in 5.2 innings, 7 ER for a AAA ERA of 5.71.
  12. 4 for 32 with 12 K’s, 2BB, 4 errors and a noodle arm to the plate tonight. Is he going to have to learn 1B? Such a weak arm. Not a good fielder either. I complained about Keston's arm on here about a year ago and was tarred and feathered. He is going to be a weak defender and is going to need to hit consistently to overcome the bad defense.
  13. Apparently Gohara made it through waivers and was released.. https://www.talkingchop.com/2019/8/2/20751990/braves-release-luiz-gohara
  14. Making this list made me depressed. The system stinks. 1. Trent Grisham - A sad #1, but his 2019 numbers show he could be an everyday MLB outfielder. I hope the OBP translates to MLB and he adds some more power as he ages. 2. Brice Turang - Very high ceiling. Just not enough professional experience to put him ahead of Grisham. 3. Trey Supak - Looking like an MLB starter 4. Ethan Small - Could move through the system quickly. 5. Drew Rasmussen - I think he ends up being an MLB reliever. 6. Aaron Ashby - Continues to put up nice numbers. 7. Devin Williams - Once again a prospect. 8. Tristen Lutz - High ceiling if he figures it out. 9. Mario Feliciano - Catching prospect with some power. 10. Antoine Kelly- Triple digit fastball. High ceiling. 11. Felix Valerio - Tiny middle infielder who can hit. Sadly, low ceiling. 12. Zack Brown - Not sure what the deal is. I'm not ready to give up on him. 13. Bobby Wahl - Not sure if he qualifies. Big fastball. 14. Corey Ray. Yuck. If he wasn't a first rounder he wouldn't be in the top 20. 15. Eduardo Garcia - Nice to see the Brewers land a big-time international prospect. 16. Dylan File - 21st round to top 10 prospect? Maybe. 2019 has been his coming out party. 17. Thomas Jankins - Im honestly not sure what to make of Jankins. 18. Nate Griep - Herky jerky delivery and 94 mph fastball. Should have a shot at being an MLB reliever. 19. Jon Olczak - Doesnt walk people but developed a habit of giving up gopher balls at AAA. 20. Miguel Sanchez- Future big league reliever, of some sort. 21 Lucas Erceg - Another less than inspiring year for Erceg in the hitter friendly PCL. 22. Noah Zavolas - Next year will be a big year at Biloxi for Zavolas. 23. Clayton Andrews - As others have said. This guy is turning into a prospect. 24. Max Lazar - Excellent age 20 year at low-A. 25. Braden Webb - Way too many walks for the former 3rd rounder. 26. Angel Perdomo - Big lefty. Decent numbers but too many walks. 27. Payton Henry- Seems to develop a little more power each year. 28. Justin Jarvis - 19 year old pitching well at Wisconsin.
  15. It appears Corbin Burnes was sent to AAA to make room for Lyles.... http://m.mlb.com/mil/roster/transactions
  16. I mean I wouldn't say there not *any* chance, but I doubt that's the move. Jacob Barnes, Donnie Hart, Burch Smith, Aaron Wilkerson are all on the 40-man. Bye Bye Donnie or Burch.
