  1. Gonzalez was excellent in 2017. In 2018 his numbers look decent on the surface. Then you dig a bit deeper and his 1.45 WHIP sticks out like a sore thumb...
  2. Well it looks like the Brewers five game bed wetting has kept the Pirates in the race...
  3. The only possible answer I can think of is that replay had views that ESPN didnt....???
  4. I honest to god do not get replay....every view there he looked safe....much less clear and convincing evidence to overturn...
  5. The Brewers are indeed in on Archer.... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/07/chris-archer-trade-rumors-final-offers-rays.html Rays Ask For Final Offers On Chris Archer By Steve Adams | July 30, 2018 at 6:10pm CDT 6:09pm: Despite some prior indications to the contrary, the Yankees remain involved in Archer’s market, per Andy Martino of SNY.tv (via Twitter). There are five additional clubs still involved as well, MLB.com’s Jon Morosi reports: the Padres, Braves, Brewers, and two unnamed organizations. 5:24pm: The Rays have asked interested teams to make their best and final offers for right-hander Chris Archer, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Tampa Bay has been in touch with roughly a dozen teams about Archer and could spend tonight and tomorrow morning reviewing those offers before ultimately making a call on whether to deal Archer.
  6. Excellent post. Yes, sorry I meant WHIP, fixed above. You make some very good points, however, I firmly believe that the Indians would refuse to discuss a guy like Clevinger if Hiura or Burnes is not the headliner of the package coming back. It also makes little sense to remove a contributor like that from a contender. If the Brewers want a TOR guy like Clevinger, Syndergaard, DeGrom etc. then the dicussion starts with Hiura and likely also includes Burnes or Peralta.
  7. I would do that deal in a heartbeat... but I have no idea why the Indians would. Clevinger is sporting a 1.23 WHIP this year.. 133 IP already and 133 K's.... Thats TOR production..
  8. Reported on MLB Network....and Twitter @flannymlb Per source: The Royals have agreed to a deal with the Brewers for Mike Moustakas for Minor Leaguers Brett Phillips and Jorge Lopez.
  9. Here is the Rosenthal Tweet: #Brewers engaged in serious discussions with the #Orioles, sources tell The Athletic. Unclear if MIL’s focus is Schoop, Gausman or a package including both.
  10. Saladino is on borrowed time. After acquiring Soria I have to think the Brewers acquire at least one infielder and Saladino goes buh-bye....
  11. This is basically my take on the trade. Very high upside PITCHER for an old expensive reliever who may be a 10 week rental......yuuuuuuuuck.
  12. I think the only way the Cardinals deal Carpenter is if they decide to rebuild. However, sadly, that franchise does not rebuild. They never die. To make the chances of a trade even more slim this would be an intra-division trade that would require significant pieces to change hands. I don't think the Brewers want to see Luis Ortiz turn into Lance Lynn and Corey Ray turn into Tommy Pham.
  13. Drury is a very slight upgrade over Hernan Perez. if the Yankees want to give away Drury I would grab him and release Perez. However, that upgrade is very very minor....
  14. I respectfully disagree. He is only 25 years of age and carries a career .755 OPS in his first 4 years in the Majors. He is much better then what we are putting out there. Drury is a very slight upgrade over Hernan Perez. if the Yankees want to give away Drury I would grab him and release Perez. However, that upgrade is very very minor....
  15. Welp. Its July 22nd and Stearns hasnt done a darn thing yet. This race is going to come right down to the wire so if you are going to make moves they should have been made earlier than later to take full advantage of the services of the new player. I have to think the inaction by Stearns means he is considering selling or standing pat (just like 2017). There are just too many holes to fill to be a buyer. 1. Catcher 2. Shortstop 3. TOR Starter 4. 2B.
  16. Yes. Good catch....if he and Cimber can net Mejia gotta think a Knebel and Jeffress package would net a nice piece...
  17. There are not many sellers this year and the available bats and arms are pretty pathetic. If I'm Stearns I go out and sell after watching the last 10 days. One or two trades are not going to fix the holes in the 2018 Brewers. I would definitely cash in on Guerra, Chacin, and Jefress at a minimum. If someone takes Lorenzo Cain I'm selling before the guy has negative trade value. If someone backs up the truck for Aguilar or Yelich I'm pulling the trigger.
  18. Just saw this in today's MLBTR chat with Jeffrey Todd: _______________________________________________ Kirby 3:55 Could we get one of the Brewers top pitching prospects for Dozier? Jeffrey Todd 3:56 Of course, he's also seeming limited to playing on the right side of the infield and is a not-super-cheap rental player. So I wouldn't go wild with expectations. _______________________________________________ I would puke if the brewers give up Peralta, Burnes or Brown for Dozier.....Medieros...maybe...
  19. I'm holding out hope that the Dodgers traded their farm system to the American League.
  20. Wilkerson and his 9.00 ERA needs to be DFA'd asap....gas can..
  21. I'd be very okay if I never have to watch Hernan Perez start another game... I have no idea why Counsell has a love affair for the guy...
  22. Hello Las Vegas Rays!
