  1. Sure, just wouldn't expect much. I'm hoping they pick up a high ceiling guy in the low minors. Maybe a Marcos Diplan type player.
  2. I've been thinking this for a month and nothing. I'm guessing to this point teams have been trying to lowball Melvin. As the deadline gets closer teams will have to put their best deal on the table and Melvin will have to choose one. Shame b/c I was hoping it would be fun to watch the MiLB teams. Looks like August is going to be the only fun month.
  3. Too bad he had to throw so many extra pitches because of the decision to play the infield in and because of Maldy's errors/bad throws. I've about had it with Maldonado. He' went 0-3 today and is now hitting .173. Time to get a look at Nevin Ashley and some of the other scrap heap guys out there.
  4. Boy would this be a pleasant surprise. Even if we could just get one Banda or Haniger type prospect back. Would greatly ease the sting that misguided trade last year.
  5. +1. I'd even like to see what Yadiel Rivera has before this smuck.
  6. Reminds me of a mix between Jared Weaver and Jamey Wright Tall, gangly kid, throws across his body, real deceptive. Throws harder than Weaver has in a long time, but also has nowhere near the control of weaver. Scap loads like Jamey Wright used to do. Thats where the 94 mph comes from. Will be interesting to see if he avoids injuries and decreasing velocity as his career progresses.

  8. I have a feeling it is open tryouts in anticipation of Lohse and Garza going to the first team that will eat their remaining salaries. The Brewers have a pretty good idea who Thornburg is, and wanted to see Wagner, Jungman, and Cravy(Cravy threw 6 shutout today at AAA). I wont be surprised if we see Brooks Hall as well before the season ends.
  9. I think it will be with the Mets. With the Phiilies, Braves, and Marlins down, the Mets window to compete in the NL East is OPEN. Problem is, they are not hitting. Carlos Gomez, Aramis Ramiez, and Jean Segura are the perfect fit. On the other hand, the Mets have what the Brewers need, young pitching.
  10. I also dont think Segura alone is enough to get Matz. That said, I think it would be close. If I'm DM, I'd try to do a blockbuster with the Mets. They are one of the few minor league systems that has enough to help the Brewers w/o being completely gutted(they have 7 top 100 guys and Molina will be soon). Jean Segura, Carlos Gomez, Aramis Ramirez + $$ to the Mets for Steve Matz, Marcos Molina, Michael Conforto and 2 mid level guys. Conforto reminds me a lot of Cole Calhoun. Could be in the bigs and producing, and soon. Not sure if the Mets would pull the trigger. But this is the type of deal the Brewers need to make to rebuild the system.
  11. I wanted Gallo from the get go. I was fine with the Coulter pick but was screaming at the TV when they took Roache (wrist injuries are scary and I didn't want to take the chance) and then was ready to rip my TV off the wall when they took Haniger and Gallo was still there. When Gallo went immediately next, good thing there weren't any puppies around, as they all would have been punted. Gallo was a signing risk, and thats why he stayed on the board so long. Problem is, I would have picked and signed Gallo, and taken two college senior pitchers with the other two picks. The Brewers instead went for quantity over quality, yet still managed to pick two college players. It was CLEAR that Gallo was more talented than Coulter.
  12. And to think the Brewers passed on him 3 times. They took Mitch Haniger, Victor Roache and Clint Coulter ahead of Gallo. Of those 3, only Coulter looks to have any chance of matching Gallo's talent.
  13. I thought he had to stay down for 10 days?
  14. Aram has been in retirement mode since spring training. Pretty clear he doesnt want to be there. Too bad. Maybe he will just walk away and save the Brewers soem money this summer.
  15. Yup. Its a complete mess. People were worried Wagner would not miss enough bats. They were right. Hopefully Cravy has an out pitch.
  16. Then I don't see a Gomez deal getting done with the Mets. Gotta give to get.
  17. Saw him play last week. He looks like a future big league regular to me. Better than Tyrone Taylor, although not likely an allstar. Good plate discipline and swing with very few holes in it. His .407 OBP at AA is not a misnomer. The kid is good.
  18. Boy. This team is an absolute dumpster fire. Lohse and Garza look terrible and must have next to no value. This team is going to be forced to trade Lucroy and Gomez. Hopefully, those two trades garner enough to revitalize the farm system.
  19. The brewers thought they had a good facility in Nashville and got completely screwed by the Athletics and the Nashville ownership. That said. The Brewers consistently trotted out a horrid team in Nashville so I'm not shocked those people didnt want the Brewers around.
  20. I'm guessing this is all about having pitchers bypass Colorado Springs. The Brewers must have confidence in Wagners potential and don't want to bump him up to AAA and blow his confidence pitching in a band box. Sadly, someone has to pitch at AAA. My guess is after this year you will see the Brewers scoop up a bunch of AAAA Brad Mills type dudes to pitch at Colorado and the pitching prospects will skip that stop. Note to get too far off topic, but bottom line, the Brewers cant find new AAA home soon enough. Tucson used to always have a team and I would think would be a PCL possibility, and there is always the chance that the team links up to an International league club.
  21. Wooten Outrighted to AAA. Last sentence of this article: http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/127289606/tyler-wagner-reported-to-start-sunday-for-brewers
  22. +1. If we dont trade Gomez I will be furious. If we dont trade Lucroy I will be slightly less mad, but still irked. Trading those two guys would be enough to restock the farm system if you do it right.
  23. Unfortunately the only Brewer with huge value as of today is Gomez. Lucroy is still out. Garza and Lohse have been horrible. Lind is slumping. Hopefully the Cards pick up Morneau and Lind is the only guy available at 1b in July.
  24. Sneed got moved to Biloxi? If so, I completely missed that news... Sorry, meant Brooks Hall. Just read an article on Sneed and that name typed out. Hall looks real good. Breaking stuff is good. Real tight curve looking like an MLB out pitch.
