    I think it is great to make the playoff large enough to represent each power conference and allow some at large bids so no one gets screwed over due to a 4 loss power 5 team sneaking in. Now the Iowa/Wisconsin/Minnesota of the world can have something to hope for even if they suffer a loss to OSU. Needing to be utterly perfect to make it is not entertaining. Utah beating USC shouldn't be a celebration because they got to ruin USC's season...it should catapult them into the playoff picture versus out. Rivalry games are cool and all, but they are what they are. Hopefully more teams can have something to play for at the end of a season instead of trying to play spoiler. Watching fans freak out and get excited to play in a specific exhibition bowl game and watch a specific parade is...kinda sad. I also don't necessarily agree that it is condensing the excitement of the regular season. Maybe it is a bit boring for select elite teams. Alabama/OSU/Georgia, sure, the regular season won't be too nail biting...but for the large majority of teams? It would be pretty epic. The #8-#12 seeds would be musical chairs. If championship week still exists there could be some annoying issues though. Idling teams now are somewhat annoying to people and it could be worse in a 12 team format. Utah and Kansas State would have been playing for their lives while Penn State got to sit at home watching Michigan/OSU battle each other in nothing more than a seeding matchup

    So basically you’d rather occasionally get the opportunity to not see Alabama and Ohio State in the playoff versus letting more teams have an opportunity. I don’t really understand college football fans and wanting to make sure they are as miserable as possible and make sure the regular season champion can get the trophy. There is basically no other sport on the planet that insists on that. Maybe recruits wouldn’t pile on those teams as bad if they can still experience the playoffs at other schools? Who knows. Them again, if a team is truly the best…they shouldn’t have a hard time winning an expanded playoff anyway, right?

    Really? Cause it kinda points to the opposite. The apparent top teams losing to other Top 15ish teams. #11 seed just beat a #4 seed and the #3 seed lost to the #10 seed. Not to mention, since expansion, the entire thing has been won by a #3 or #4 seed three times. It is for entertainment…not making sure to crown the #1 team. It is most certainly more entertaining now and I bet people will think it is even more so when expanded again. I never understand why people are so anti expansion. What is there to lose?

    Imagine paying a 35 year old basically $40mil a year and he hasn’t made half a seasons worth of start in 4 years. mid you combined his stats with whatever starter has to replace him all the time when injured…how bad are his stats? I guess you pray you can make the postseason and he is healthy when you make it. It is pretty hard to think there is a very likely chance this ends up a good deal in the grand scheme.

    Meh on this trade. Winker could bounce back, but then again they fact we acquired him for little tells me no one across MLB is all that optimistic it will happen. Odds are he bounces back a little and Wong regressed a little so it’s about a wash with the bay value wise. Now it is a matter off what you do at 2B to see if you gain there versus a Wong/DH combo we could have had in the opposite reality. So far a bit disappointing. Brewers are just rearranging deck chairs just to have new faces around. Except Wong is consider a good clubhouse guy and apparently Winker is a big time bum. If he can up his average we should have a really nice high OBP guy at the top of the lineup that doesn’t strikeout too much.

    UVA is the only notable program that has offered to him. Which even that is being a bit generous. The rest is mostly Midwest schools. Good chance he goes to Wisconsin of what he has been offered from so far. But if he ups his stock it may be less clear as he could garner higher level offers.

    I agree with you. I certainly would hope for the best offer being pitching centric…or at least on par with other offers. I wouldn’t go out of my way to take a pitching offer just because I want pitching though. Not if it means it is notably less on paper. It isn’t like we are going to go out and can cherry pick whatever offer we want. Realistically, we probably would get a few serious offers for Burnes because A) only so many teams want to give up that kind of prospect capital and B) only so many have it to begin with. Personally I would almost prefer the package to be headlined by an elite hitter. A lot of fantastic and elite starters come out of the secondary range of prospects at 40-70 in the Top 100. Historically those elite pitching prospects actually haven’t faired all that well.

    Good way to end up with a bunch of trash that flames out into AAAA players. I will go with whatever projects as the best and safest bet for being great MLB players some day. If it is pitching, great. If it is hitting, great. The only thing I would maybe avoid is OFers…because at some point you have so many they will die of old age before they ever get a chance to show us what they are. Talent > perceived organizational need

    Those fanbases would actually expect him to perform and would pelt him with stones if he didn't. In Milwaukee he can casually be average and still have a cult following of fangirls who don't care if he goes 0-50. He followed in his buddies footsteps (Braun) and made sure to sign a massive extension before he turned into a crippled pumpkin. Braun decided it was easier to just play for Milwaukee versus going to a team like the Dodgers. Playing for a coast team is overrated. During the season you are basically working 24/7 outside of sleeping. You don't really get to chill on the beach all day...half the time you aren't even at home anyway. He is filthy rich...he can just own a Malibu house and enjoy it in the offseason. That is what Braun did.

    I doubt the Brewers would even try floating the idea themselves. The last thing the Brewers need is PR about how they are trying to dump Yelich. Especially since it is essentially impossible and he has a full no trade clause. All we would get out of approaching other teams is laughter and look stupid.

    Recruit changes are meh...the bigger deal will be who will transfer from Wisconsin and if any Cincy players follow their coach.

    I think a lot of the sub-par play is the thumb. They even showed video of him before the game struggling to throw spirals and cringing at his thumb. He shouldn't be playing right now, for no other reason than the fact he isn't healthy and one bad hit could make things miserable for him. As far as him being a 'tough guy' for playing and hurting them. Who says the Packers would start Love and Rodgers is the one in the way of that? I really doubt that is the case. I am guessing Rodgers is out there because he wants to be out there and so do the Packers. I don't think Love would have fared any better with garbage receivers and a crap OL.

    Lincoln Riley going to USC, bringing a QB with him, and having USC one win from a spot in the playoff in a matter of months is probably a good reason the Badgers chased after a more high profile coach with success.

    Some guys will leave because of this and others will come in because of it. That’s how it goes. I just don’t think Leonard really did a great job in his short stint. They don’t really have the time to watch some guy grow into being a HC. It’s really easy for a program to totally spiral if it gets out of hand. Nebraska went from perennial bowl team to nothing like that. With the way college football is going, if you can’t keep up, you are going to average real quick.

    This was the right choice, tbh. Leonard and his no HC experience was way too risky. Get a good proven HC…not role the dice on someone just because they are a Wisconsin guy and been around awhile.

    So today I had a repo guy show up to my front door. Tells me he is looking for a Lauren...so I am like no I literally don't know a single Lauren. After saying this, the guy has the audacity to show me a picture of the car he is looking for (a luxury Alfa Romeo) and say "two people have confirmed this car is parked in this driveway all the time". I am guessing this was total BS statement because I never even have cars parked in my driveway and I live on a Cul De Sac...who would even confirm this? I presume this is just some classic line to act like they have information that they really don't to trick the person if they do have the car. Kind of ticked me off. I have no idea how he ended up at my door regardless, but I told him to basically screw off and never come back or I will have him trespassed.

    I opted to get a 55" during black friday to go with a spare 50" I have (really it is my patio TV I drag out during summer). I really wanted 43"ers as they would fit better...but deals on those sizes suck. I just could not logically buy a worse TV and smaller TV for the same price as a 55". Oh well...it won't be symmetrical between the side by side TVs...first world problems. At least they are different brand TVs so the remotes won't interfere with each other...they would have drove me nuts.
