  1. I’m sure we will pick up bullpen help eventually. But we really don’t have much offensively to fill with Contreras/Winker added. Maybe bench help to replace Peterson?
  2. Feels like people want to upgrade third base just to spend money. This isn’t a lot of money, but it’s not nothing. If we go into the season with a lower payroll, hopefully it means more flexibility come July.
  3. You won't find super detailed stats, but you can find game logs. He was promoted in August. 5/6 of his multi-strikeout games occurred before 8/15 and he had zero multi-strikeout games in September. He only had 6 walks in August (2 of which were on the 31st) and 15 walks in September. Of course that is a pretty small sample, so hard to really take them completely serious. It doesn't show anything in depth, but you can certainly see that AAA pitching wasn't figuring him out as the two months went on. It looks like the complete opposite.
  4. He is from Venezuela. Probably hiding in a bunker somewhere.
  5. 1) Probably at this point 2-4) I really doubt that. The likely scenario is they know Burnes/Woodruff (probably both) need to be traded next offseason. By trading for someone this offseason it helps them this year and then helps bridge the gap to losing them after the year. The prospect lose isn't much considering them massive hauls we are set to get anyway, The loss of say (hypothetical Weimer+) isn't going to be a huge deal when we reload with 3+ similar prospects in the offseason.
  6. Weimer's jump from A+ to AA was really concerning. However, when he got promoted AAA he had his lowest K-rate of his career and his highest walk rate since Single A. Also recorded his best SB % at a bonkers 83%. If he is anywhere near his AAA numbers next year and doesn't regress back to AA type numbers he has massive potential.
  7. Well, we have a new GM... hopefully this one has a bit more urgency.
  8. I would venture to guess they would be after an intriguing starter that is controllable for 4+ years. Thus, helping bridge the gap when we lose Burnes and/or Woodruff. Can't imagine we are looking to trade one of our top prospects for someone we are going to be looking to trade just like Woodruff/Burnes soon. Not sure who really fits that profile....and it certainly would take a lot more than one of those OFers. Our OF depth and minors might take a hit, but you are about to reload in a big way with all or some of Adames/Burnes/Woodruff. This isn't like acquiring Yelich where we took a big hit in the minors (not in retrospect of course) and weren't really going to reheal it for years.
  9. Just for my notes, who is Turang's roomie?
  10. Honestly should have been blown dead. Refs are so inconsistent on that.
  11. How Amari was playing over that guy is pretty sad.
  12. Yah, he made that play. Blocked the first guy and watched the other defender to sense where Jones was to then block that guy with the other defender. Great patience to not overblock his guy and let the other one free.
  13. How are we so bad on 3rd and long defensively…
  14. “Cobb doing everything he can.” To what? Avoid a first down and go backwards?
  15. I am sure Texans are having PTSD meltdowns over the temperatures barreling their way.
  16. He made way too many mistakes too. Add that with losing a step, it was hard to watch.
  17. I have to get to central Iowa. Originally, we were supposed to go Thursday...but -50 windchills and 50 car pileups aren't exactly on my agenda. Probably going to go Wednesday...hopefully before the evening, but not sure she can get off early. The warning map for the US is insane...and it is only going to get worse in color/size. Shaping up to be one of the worst travel day(s) in a really long time. Severe Weather Warnings & Watches | AccuWeather
  18. He would be a fine add. I guess it depends on how bullish one is on Turang holding his own. Segura isn't exactly a high bar offensively. If Turang is so good on defense might as well take the risk of Turang playing. I don't know we are as desperate for offense as we were to start the offseason now. Probably don't need to chase after spending a bunch of money on guys that are going to be near average offensively.
  19. To shift Urias to 2B and not start Turang. But as I said, why would you do that when you could have kept Wong on a one year deal if you wanted to drop $10mil+? MAYBE I would prefer Turner over Wong...but they are pretty much same value to me.
  20. Lol what? Alright, you might else well shut down the forum. As far as someone saying city location is overblown. I mean, I don't really think it is. Plenty of players, especially ones in Turner's situation most certainly will consider location. No reason to take it personally that Milwaukee isn't that great and not a preferred destination to many. Sometimes we get lucky and we are a preferred location. Ramirez picked us based on location and Greinke wanted to go to a smaller market team. I don't think Turner would have ever considered playing here, if you think he would have. Cool, that is your opinion on it.
  21. It really isn't over the top. He is 38 and has plenty of money. Wishful thinking he would come to a crappy Midwest city when he likely has a year or two left in his career. I don't fault him for staying with the Dodgers...I would have done the same. I know a lot of people live or grew up close to Milwaukee...but reality is, most people in the country would think of it as a dump...especially compared to many of the MLB cities. Also, I said likely zero interest...I didn't say it definitively, because yes...no one really knows. 90% of the conversation on this forum is about total hypotheticals and stuff we have no idea about...we have to assume. Maybe he would have had interest, I suppose there is a chance we can extend Corbin Burnes too...but you know, unlikely. Sorry my opinion does not match yours, doesn't make it dumb though.
  22. If anyone has end of week travel plans taking them to/through Iowa/Illinois at the end of the week, you might want to start paying attention to the weather...it is looking very very ugly.
  23. Well, yah, it really doesn't make a ton of sense. I see the argument why we could have done it, but that doesn't mean I think it made a ton of sense. I am not denying the Brewers had interest at some point. Of course, this is ignoring the fact Justin Turner likely had zero interest coming to Milwaukee. I remember the last time we had interest in him and we were rumored to be the runner-up. A Dodgers player went to twitter to laugh at Brewers fans thinking Justin Turner would ever pick the Brewers over the Dodgers. I don't think Turner ever said anything about it...but that player probably was not wrong. He has played in New York and LA his entire career. At 38 years old and over $100mil in earnings I am betting he would retire if his only option was to play in Milwaukee.
