  1. If we just block people with less than 100 posts from commenting you solve 99% of the problem.
  2. Honest question, what makes you qualified to even guess this? Is there some comparable pitcher that flopped after a similar injury? Even then, we know very little about what exactly broke and to what extent. All of which is incredibly important information when considering his long term effectiveness.
  3. In addition to the horse track area itself, that facility has a pretty large practice grounds and stables, too. Not to mention a bunch of crummy apartment complexes begging to be bought up and torn down...all in all they could easily pick up 400 plus acres in that area. Edit: article said the purchase would be 325 acres - thats plenty of space . Fwiw, the Lambeau field block is about 50 acres....if they were dead serious its actually a really good spot Thanks, I kinda figured they would gobble up the entire area between the highway and main roads. FWIW that is almost exactly 450 acres. I’m surprised it is actually that big of an area. For reference, Miller Park with its preferred parking area plus the general parking across the river to the east is only 130ish acres.
  4. That location is very Lambeau-like. Houses across the street and neighborhoods surround it. Not far from the Schaumburg mall area. Not sure what exactly they purchased, but the horse track area was not overly big, not sure how parking is going to work at that location. There really are not any nearby parking areas, so whatever parking there is will be on site.
  5. I mean I am not really surprised by the reaction nor do I blame people for making extreme comments to the situation. This is arguably, maybe not even debatable, the best chance this franchise has ever had going into the postseason to come out winning it all. For one of the most important players in the upcoming postseason to punch a wall after clinching the division is pretty brutal.
  6. [sarcasm]Yah, ridiculous Devin Williams is being compared to an innocent man.[/sarcasm]
  7. I mean the only person you could really boot is JBJ, which I am sure many would have no problem booting. That being said not getting added until after we clinch and are playing exhibition games (at least from our view) pretty much sums up his chances.
  8. Not going to lie, I get a pretty good laugh out of the thought of 'slap a staff member challenge'....but I also don't work at a school nor do I have Tiktok aged kids, so I don't have much to lose. The problem is quite a few of the videos are jokes the teacher or whoever agreed to take part in, but the thousands watching it thinking it is legit. Theeeen not so funny.
  9. Honestly I don't think people really care what he does or doesn't this week. I am going to guess he doesn't really have a chance at the postseason roster without an injury happening.
  10. If this was Jeremy Jeffress I would punt him off the planet. That's a guy with a track record of doing dumb stuff. However, as far as my memory serves me, Devin Williams hasn't been caught up in dumb happenings before this. I am willing to give him another chance and don't really understand some clamoring to trade him. I am sure the Brewers will do their best to get him the help he needs for whatever is going on and to make sure he can express his frustration without intentionally hurting him self to the point of breaking his hand. Good chance the Brewers weren't aware of any issues prior to this.
  11. The NL Wild Card game is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 6. Why wouldn't Scherzer be able to go in that one after pitching last night? He's not scheduled to face the Brewers this weekend, unless the Dodgers throw him on Sunday if it a must-win for their division chances. He is making an assumption that Max Scherzer is going to continue not being scary based on a start or two...not that Scherzer won't start the game at all. I wouldn't bet on that.
  12. Max Scherzer getting steamrolled in back-to-back starts is an interesting plot twist. I doubt voters would have raised an eye brow for one bad start...but two in a row may get some thinking.
  13. Wouldn't it be "Craig's Wallbanger"?
  14. I wonder how a 4-way tiebreaker for 2 Wild Card spots would work? I would love to find out. Not as exciting as you would think. It is just two games that are played to decide the spots. The designations are picked by the teams after H2H records and stuff like that decide picking order. Best team obviously picks A, the second one would likely pick C for the home game BUT they could pick B if they like their chances against that A team. The third team to pick is the most interesting as it likely is a road team either way. So it gets to pick whatever team it feels it has the best chance of winning against on the road. I do not think the A/B winner automatically gets to host the actual Wild Card game...it just gets decided on H2H etc. between the two winners. Four-Club Tie for Two Wild Card Spots: After Clubs have been assigned their A, B, C and D designations, Club A would host Club B and Club C would host Club D. The winners of each of those games would be declared the Wild Card Clubs. It would actually be a lot more exciting if there were only three for the two spots or three for one of the spots. If it is for two spots then you have a game for one spot and then the loser gets another crack at the second spot facing the team that didn't play in the first game. If it is three going for one spot a team gets a bye for the first game and then plays the winner for that final WC spot. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-playoff-tiebreaker-rules
  15. Pretty frustrating, wouldn't blame someone for punching a wall with all the uncertainty.
  16. I think they would do it in a few situations. 1) We are facing elimination 2) We could clinch a series. 3) The less obvious, in a game where we would go up big if we won. Like taking a 3-0 series lead with a win. I could see then gunning hard for that win. 4) I also would not be shocked if he pitched a 9th and then a 10th inning. Though I lean against this scenario just because the extra inning rule won't apply in the postseason. Maybe if #1 or #2 is happening he may throw multiple innings in this scenario. Of course a lot depends on how much he pitched prior in the series. I would agree that there is little to no chance we would see Hader in a Game 1 or Game 2 throwing multiple innings...I just can't see that. For a team with World Series aspirations they can't just start riding Hader that hard or it will soon enough implode. However, if they got to the World Series how they use any pitcher is a bit of a mystery. You got a lot of time to rest afterwards. I would bet if we got to the World Series he would pitch multiple innings at least once in the entire postseason.
  17. I mean he wasn't just an idiot drunk. He then tried to hide it from the team and even try to throw after the incident. You can tell the Brewers are livid. For him to be doing that interview with Stearns (not Counsell) and the fact Stearns jumped in to clarify how he tried covering it up is pretty brutal. Getting treated like he is in kindergarten, but seems fitting.
  18. Wow how sad. How sad for our postseason chances and how sad for whatever is going on in his life that punching a wall after such a day seemed logical.
  19. $500 if we are down 3-0, maybe.
  20. And yet the book has barely started and still too early to really know how this shakes out in the end. Luis Urias is having a stellar year, but lets see if he can truly keep his power long term. Without it his value tanks quickly at 3B. Eric Lauer is having a pretty awesome year, but it feels a lot like 2017 Chase Anderson. Chase Anderson was a solid starter (though many hated him), but he obviously never repeated his sub. 3 ERA year. Not to say they won't continue to be impressive in the future, but one or both could easily fall well off what they did this year. Though it is probably safe to say it is looking pretty good long term and safe to say it certainly was not a loss.
  21. The Cardinals are easily the worst of the three and their hot streak will be long gone before we ever face them. If we then end up losing to them we probably would have lost to any team in the NLCS. I am going to be upset we blew another NLCS. I certainly don't get losing sleep over this hypothetical NLCS match-up. Not only could the Cardinals miss the NLCS, but we might not even see it either. I am more worried about if we can win the NLDS.
  22. Of course his INTs are up and completion percentage are down...his current team lets him actually be a QB. I think Coan is proving he has arm and the range to actually help make plays. Instead of just making sure he doesn't help lose the game, he can make some of the plays that make you win. I don't think he is vastly better now...but he is certainly showing he had a bit more in his arm than the Badgers ever used. Yeah, the Badgers had JT in 2019 so you wouldn't need to throw wild all the time. I don't think they made the team worse using Coan the way they did. Of course it is pretty generous to think PC would have really used Coan any different had JT not existed. I think the "eat crow" moment is more for what feels like most of the fanbase that was so happy to see him go and thought he sucked. Fitting that he would come help Notre Dame show up the Badgers while golden boy Mertz throws as many INTs in a game as Coan had in an entire year at Wisconsin. Maybe they can pull out an upset win at home against Michigan. If Mertz could stop turning the ball over 5 times a game I think this defense could give them shots to upset Michigan/Iowa at home. Feels like if they are going to turn around this season and make something of it a win this week is deeply needed.
  23. Thanks! Worst of luck to you!
  24. One notable thing in the article I linked is PC was criticizing the communication between Mertz and the RBs, how it needs to improve. Though he then referenced a play where the RBs went somewhere wrong and then pre-snap Mertz had to fix it. But that sounds like good communication...? So I don't get where PC was going with that. Regardless, we can beg for creativity and pre-snap movement...but if the RBs are too incompetent to do the plays correctly or Mertz is too incompetent to fix it before hiking the ball it won't really work. Honestly it feels like the players on offense just don't mesh at all and are not executing simple things. I think a lot of that is the leadership. Whether that be PC on the sideline or Mertz in the huddle. Statistically Mertz undeniably sucks, but I think he is failing to be a leader and help the guys around him maximize their value. Which I suppose shouldn't be surprising when he can't really improve himself. And yah there are a lot of things not helping Mertz/PC on offense. The RBs just aren't that great and the offensive line isn't as good as it has been previously. Still seems it shouldn't be this bad though.
  25. Generous to assume they would have any need or interest finding big contracts to swap. What is the point....really is none. Especially on a contending team. Why bother swapping trash...just dump the trash. Guessing they would have just sent JBJ into orbit without much thought or had him as a straight dump onto the Pirates.
