  1. Drew Pomeranz (w/ Ray Black), Xavier Cedeno, and Jeremy Jeffress are some other relievers they’ve acquired in-season during the Stearns tenure. Speaking of Jeffress... I know '19 wasn't great but he pitched well in Chicago last year. Why hasn't he been given a chance somewhere? Because his old agent. That’s what he claims. I’m sure there is a real reason though and Jeffress has a lengthy history of issues.
  2. I was collecting game used, but the combination of the hobby exploding/Brewers being good/Brewers game used department ruined that for me. I occasionally pick up a cool cheap item, but don’t really spend much now. I’m not in the business of spending $500+ on scrub player items. Maybe that hobby comes back down to reality some day. I sort of collect whiskey as I like grabbing new ones, but don’t drink heavily so it’s quickly become 20+ bottles. My wife calls it a collection, but I don’t really hoard unopened bottles to have value in the future etc. so i don’t really consider it a true collection. My current obsession is my lawn as the last owner neglected it and it’s a bit of a hot mess. It has made strides though.
  3. Brewers May record by my accounts: 13-15 The Brewers were 8-15, but were saved by a 5 game win streak to end the month.
  4. I’m sorry, but some of this comparisons are really stretching logic. Comparing it to drafting a RB in the 7th round, someone’s parents having a baby, and now drafting a CB in the first round. If you want to hate Rodgers and think he is being a big baby at least be realistic. Some of these attempted comparisons are like comparing a Lamborghini and a Prius because they both are two-door cars. Hating Rodgers in this situation is more than understandable and it doesn’t take comparing Aaron Jones and the drafting of a 7th round RB etc to make a decent point.
  5. I actually don’t quite understand why he doesn’t get credited a double there. No way Narvaez touched home before that ball bounced over the fence. I’d think he would still get the auto 2 bases and the run scores. He did never touch second...wonder if he would have went to second he would have gotten the double.
  6. And if we didn’t use Hader in the 9th we could be packing up and going home because we lost. Much easier to keep a run off the board with bases empty than a runner starting on 2nd. Up until last year I would have agreed but the new rule is a game changer. I get the argument for it, but you also have to get to the 10th too. I’d guessing analytics would favor Hader in the 10th for the reason people always clamor for it...but not sure.
  7. I don’t see why it would. He already has a de facto no trade clause because no team is trading for Rodgers if he doesn’t want to play there. The problem is the way the contract is set up and after this year dumping/trading him is fairly minimal as far as damage. Moving on from him just isn’t that hard. A big reason why Rodgers is probably putting his foot down now where he has an upper hand...or at least some advantage in this situation.
  8. And if we didn’t use Hader in the 9th we could be packing up and going home because we lost.
  9. If he continues to hit similar to how he has so far he is 99% declining the option.
  10. So an employee shouldn’t care if the organization drafts their replacement? If you like making comparisons to real life that is like your employer hiring your replacement when you are 50. An organization that doesn’t have to honor contracts and can just dump you at will, sound fun? You would be okay with that? This isn’t that hard, the Packer blew it with the draft. They should have let Rodgers know months before that pick ever happened. Alex Smith is maybe the most comparable situation and he ripped the Packers over this. The Chiefs let Smith know their possible plans and kept him posted throughout. Even then Smith wasn’t Rodgers good, rumors were they were going to draft a QB, etc etc etc. Even more irrelevant QBs get notified of this kind of stuff by their franchise, why, because it is common sense. Jimmy G. was notified and everyone knew the 49ers were going to nab a QB in the draft. If there are absolutely zero rumors of your team drafting a QB you should probably let you 15 year QB that is one of the greatest of all time know you’re possible intentions. Someone can think the players should just shut up and mind their own business, that’s great, but it isn’t the reality.
  11. Tonights game has been postponed, doubleheader tomorrow. 1:05 PM
  12. I am guessing Hiura's struggles between 2019 and 2020/2021 can be better explained by where he is getting pitched, not necessarily just what is being pitched to him. Even 2019 Hiura swung a bat with a hole in it. That really isn't a new thing.
  13. I still cannot figure out why this is crippling to the Packers in any way? Sure, do they lose out on draft picks they could get for him? Of course. But what else do they lose here? They gain money. They've drafted his replacement. What exactly is so bad about him retiring? Because they could easily trade him for multiple top draft picks? Forcing him to play or retire and then him retiring is just dumb on the Packers part. Would they not free up money and get picks by trading him? If he flat out will never play for the Packers again, you trade him.
  14. But that wouldn't make any sense for the Packers, none. Oh cool you forced Rodgers to retire, really stuck it to him! Don't mind how it hurts the Packers more than Rodgers. Rodgers can just go do something else likeJeopordy, but the Packers would miss out on multiple top draft picks and probably legit talent along with it (or even more draft picks). The Packers hold all the cards if we knew 100% there is zero chance he would retire...but it seems more than plausible he could. Rodgers holds almost all the cards because he holds the most deadly card (retiring) and that is clear by the Packers publicly begging to do anything (basically) to get him to come back and MLF looking like he wants to ball up and cry on multiple occasions. The absolute worst outcome for anyone that hurts someone the most is Rodgers retiring on the Packers. It would be crippling in the short term and long term for the Packers. The Packers can convince him to come back (I still think this happens) or you figure out a trade. Forcing him to not play is not winning for the Packers. All it does is make Rodgers lose, but you are losing even more in the process.
  15. I sure hope the Pirates are playing as badly when they play us. At a minimum the 2B and the RF were sleeping when the 1B had a huge brainlock. I find it really hard to blame the 2B when there was quite literally zero logical reason he should have ever been needed in that play. It took so many massive brain farts on the 1B part to even make him relevant in that play. It is really hard to make that many dumb decisions on a single play like that it is almost impressive what the 1B did. I would definitely turn the TV off for a few days if anyone on our team did something that stupid.
  16. Kinda surprised they sent the runner. One out and Williams laboring sounded like a solid situation. Took a great throw to get him though.
  17. It isn't cool in person either. I would rather have fireworks back. Were the fireworks a fire hazard that did not suit American Family Field??? Seems like such a strange thing to boot. Can only imagine it is some kind of cost cutting measure. All those fireworks for 81+ games and someone up there messing around with them is probably a good chunk of change.
