  1. Gotta give to get. May not dramatically help the team in the short term, but bullpen help is much easier to figure out in July or the offseason. The loss in the bullpen may get fixed up in a month or so.
  2. Lorenzo has been really bad of late and pretty awful on the season. Thankfully Stearns planned for this potential situation and spent $10mil+ on an insurance plan in Jackie Bradley Jr.
  3. I haven't seen the scoring, but I think a hit, then an error for it getting by Tatis and allowing the run to score and then a throwing error to allow the runners to advance right? That is correct, I believe that is what Rock said was the scoring.
  4. No team is trading for Rodgers unless he says he wants to be there.
  5. Thanks for this, now I will go on my yearly rant: It is absolutely pathetic the White Sox (Cubs too I think, if I recall) can do FRESH Brats (hot dogs too) that are legit grilled in front of you, but the Milwaukee Brewers can only provide the worst brat I have ever tasted in my life. That is a disgrace. I remember slamming four Brats at a Sox game and I wasn't even mad about the money I was shelling out. Pretty sad their revamps in recent years have vastly improved the food yet it is still the worst stadium food I have ever experienced and it isn't even remotely close. MiLB stadiums have food 10x better. The food at the field in Arizona for ST is better. I swear it didn't use to always be like this at Miller Park. I remember watching them grill brats in the past, you could even order it "County Stadium Style" where they'd put secret sauce and kraut on it, but everything I see now is pre packaged and poor quality. I don't think I saw a single beer or hotdog guy walking around either. My only guess is maybe Oakland, Miami, or Kansas City may be worse but I've never been there, pure speculation. We might have the worst food in the big leagues these days. The Royals have some of the best stadium food in the country...I would say regardless of sport. Their options are not only plentiful, but really top notch quality. I remember getting a personal woodfired pizza freshly made in front of me. My wife went crazy for the ice cream shop. I honestly can't imagine how a stadium could have better options than they have and the prices really aren't bad at all. That stadium in general is absolutely top notch all around. https://www.mlb.com/royals/ballpark/food Oakland probably sucks (old and terrible stadium), but something tells me the new Miami stadium probably has decent options. I can't imagine anything being worse than AmFam. Its about as bland of options possible and they don't even taste good. I always liked AJ Bombers when it was there because the food was good....but of course that is no more.
  6. That has to be one of the worst line ups we have trotted out the last two years. I mean, jeez, it couldn't get much worse.
  7. League? Two teams took two of our players. If two teams is reflection of the entire league... Those players got picked up for short term fill ins until their regulars are healthy and back. The Mets have like four injured OFers and the Mariners have two injured first baseman. Should we be excited teams want our AAAA players for a few weeks before they dump them too?
  8. Yes, this 100%. Rodgers is going to go where he wants to go. Maybe he ends up having to go to the Raiders over the Broncos or something like that....but you ain't shipping him to anything other than a team that will be an instant top Super Bowl contender with him. I suppose he could really play hardball and demand specifically the Broncos, but if the trade package is that much worse the Packers could simply challenge him to not play. I am guessing at that point Rodgers would still see the Raiders (for example) as another really good landing spot and go with it. Of course, I don't think Rodgers is getting traded. But...that is just my feeling in all this.
  9. I feel like there is some vital piece of information we are missing that made this guy think whatever you had was not allowed. I mean I can understand one idiot not knowing his job, but what about the half dozen next to him? What a strange situation. I saw plenty of people take in things other than water. We can also BS and pretend like those protocols were for COVID precautions, but all they were for is reduced seating and the team was money hungry. Unless of course someone can explain how bottled water doesn't cause COVID spread, but a bottle of Mtn. Dew was going to cripple the region. Actually, I would argue allowing people to bring in more than one unopened water and their own food would have reduced spread. Think about how much less people would have gotten up and spent less time in packed concourses. Of course the Brewers could survive such poor policies because demand for tickets greatly outweighed the measly 25% supply. However, now that ticket supply reaches 50% and then 100% they actually have to start trying to sell tickets. Same reason we saw zero promotions in April/May, there was no need to attract people to the park during that time to sell out.
  10. Okay, honestly, can someone please explain how we are even arguing over this? We traded away a guy we picked up for nothing, honestly sucked for us, for something that breathes. You cannot be telling people are upset a billion dollar franchise didn't, instead, take the $50k cash (or a $1, who knows) instead. What fan, in the history of fandom, complains the team took a player instead of a few grand? Do people not realize we DFA'd the guy, were perfectly willing to lose him for nothing, and in the time of being able to trade him the Mets swooped in and offered something. I mean, this seems like complaining just because one wants to complain. This is really grasping for something.

  12. If they think Jordan Love is the future I don't think they need to blow it up that badly. Though someone made a good point about trading Adams. After his comments about maybe not wanting to be here if Rodgers is gone they may not want to take chances with him. That being said if Rodgers AND Adams go I think the fanbase would be pretty floored. Probably more upset versus winning 4 games. I really don't see the fanbase freaking out if we don't win a bunch if Rodgers is gone. Unless they grab a guy to come win 12+ games and be a real Super Bowl threat the fact they traded Rodgers (and what he does) is what will make the fanbase angry. Personally it is what it is at that point. I won't be that made unless it is 3-4 years from now and Jordan Love isn't actually good. Then the Packers front office will look pretty dang dumb.
  13. No, I think they are about .500 (which isn't possible anymore, I know). That is with Love starting and being competent. So...not Brett Hundley type play. Even then I may vote for a Love team to be sub .500 because he has such little work with the starters and lets be honest, actual playing experience. Darek Carr would certainly be a big step up on paper. Good chance they would be a playoff, but again, does the fanbase really need to tread water with a QB if we don't think they can actually lead us to a Super Bowl. We are talking about a fanbase that has had Top 3 or Top 5 Super Bowl favorite expectations for most of the last 20+ years. I might not start Love anyway though. Let Rodgers go ball for a different team and not have Love get absolutely destroyed if he (and the team) aren't doing well. If the Packers think Love would benefit from another year sitting, they definitely should go that route.
  14. Let's not even try to pretend that Aaron Rodgers is scheduled to make anything close to the league minimum this year. He's quibbling over the difference between making $30-some million this year vs. $40 some million. Because Carr is better than most journeyman vet QBs, by a lot. You seem to be assuming the Packers crater without Rodgers, which is possible, but not the only outcome. What if acquiring Carr gets them to 11-12 wins? That isn't my point. People seem to infer Rodgers doesn't really care about winning because he also has other priorities/wants. My point was no player is all about winning, so I don't really see the point people are trying to make. Carr would be better than any journeyman QB. Carr could probably get us over .500....I would guess. However, if we don't think he can really win a Super Bowl is he worth not getting better long term value in some other form? Especially when he was referred to as a "bridge" to Jordan Love. If Love is the answer in a year or two just go get some scrap heap bridge QB. Carr would definitely make up a good chunk of the value we get back in my opinion, for a short term bridge...that seems like a waste. Now if people think he can maybe get us deep into the playoffs and maybe win a Super Bowl, yah totally, lets bring him back in the trade.
  15. Right, in a perfect world of responsible people. However, we are very far from that world. The determination should be: If saying people can unmask when fully vaccinated leads to increased vaccinations that outweigh the added infections from unmasked people....then we should say fully vaccinated people can unmask. It isn't about what, in theory, should reduce spread/infection. It should be what, in real world practice, will actually lead to the least amount of spread/infection. Now will that actually lead to more vaccinations that outweigh increased infections from lack of masks? I would probably lean towards no because of the massive increase of non vaccinated people now unmasking because no one will ask them if they have actually been vaccinated.
  16. Agreed. The addition of any high school aged soon to be DSL minor leaguer is completely worthless. (Could actually argue that they provide negative value in that it costs money to field DSL teams and they have produced almost no big leaguers for the Brewers over the last decade or so) #8 - Eduardo Garcia #9 Hedbert Perez #12 Luis Medina #13 Carlos Rodriguez #16 Jeferson Quero #20 Jesus Parra #29 Pablo Abreu Nearly 25% of our current Top 30 play or have played for the DSL Brewers. Thank god for wasting all that money, imagine our system if we stopped spending money down there.
  17. Rodgers isn't all about winning, correct. No player, literally no player, is all about winning. Please point me in the direction of a list of players that voluntarily offered to play for league minimum. Professional athletes are just like any other person on earth. They have many values of which they value at differing degrees. Location, money, winning, when they want to retire...all varies. Rodgers cares about winning plenty, just as much as any other player. I also don't understand why now we are suddenly forgetting that the entire sports world (including most Packers fans) strongly felt the Packers were going to move on to Love after 2021. This was due to how his contract was set up and it would be fairly easy to move onto him at that point. That is what makes the contract effectively a year to year contract. It won't be a major burden to kick him to the curb or even trade him post 2021. It is about as close to year to year as you can get without literally signing a bunch of one year deals. Some even felt that after his MVP season they might still decide to move on after 2021 regardless of performance. Now I don't think this was ever the case and their commitment to him this offseason probably proves that was never a hard set divorce date. Regarding Carr, is there really a point grabbing him if we don't believe he can lead us to a Super Bowl? If the Packers blow it with keeping Rodgers a bunch of 9-8 or 10-7 seasons aren't really going to mean much to the fanbase. Seems like we might as well get something better from the Raiders or flip Carr to another team. I don't think we need a bridge QB. If we want that just go sign some veteran.
  18. I don't think anyone thinks Quintana is anything special. Actually, I am guessing everyone would agree this thread will be the majority of posts talking about him from now till the end of time. He is 17 and probably has some promise in him or the Mets would never have signed him and paid for a plane ticket from Venezuela. Maybe he becomes something down the road or becomes a trade chip. Whatever he becomes is better than losing McKinney for nothing. Getting any player for a nothing burger in McKinney is great. We DFA'd Nottingham and couldn't get a bag of balls. Then in desperation got Nottingham back for a small check. I think we did alright. Though it would help if every 'lottery ticket' we get could stop instantly being referred the next possible Freddy Peralta.
  19. Is there anything on why 5 WRs skipped OTAs too? Davante Adams also appeared to surrender $500k to not go. Is that all coincidental or are the WRs somewhat standing up for their QB? I didn't really see anything that dove into why any of those guys didn't show up or if they have skipped in past years too.
  20. Ahhh, I gotcha. I forgot it was a bonus and not a fine. He won't lose money via fine till training camp etc.
  21. I am not a huge expert on NFL contracts, but wouldn't an extension be of benefit to both sides in the short term and basically just push the cap problems farther down the road? If both sides want each other for years to come wouldn't pushing the can down the road be better than trying to play out the current contract? Even if he got paid more they could just structure it to be a better situation than the current contract?
  22. This. I totally get that these guys have plenty of money but this always seems so damn foolish to me. Heck, even if you don't need the 500K, the things you can do with that money to help others would be a driving force. What do the Packers do with fine money? Just pocket it? If I recall the NFL takes fine money and it does go to charity. That is why many players embrace certain trivial fines like celebrations. Not sure if teams do it differently.
