  1. The fact he is already playing over in Europe and said he would play for free is a pretty good sign the Bucks wouldn't want him even if he offered to pay Giannis' salary. Cool story, probably not an actual useful basketball player.
  2. Vogelbach wasn't exactly garbage in a Brewer uniform. Assuming they keep the DH, he's penciled in that spot. Arcia was their best offensive player vis a vis his expectations and is still by far their best defensive infielder. Arcia had exactly one fewer extra base hits than Hiura in almost 60 fewer PA. No chance those guys get non-tendered. Peterson is a guy that they could get back for a minor league deal. If not him, there's a couple dozen similar types who'll be out there. The DH makes Vogelbach marginally valuable to the Brewers. Mostly because he will be dirt cheap. While he was decent with the Brewers for a week or two he isn't really that good. I would label him a worse version of Eric Thames. But...we are going to be cheap this offseason and a half competent bat in the DH spot is probably all we can really hope to afford anyway.
  3. I don't see the appeal of Marcus Howard. Just resign Frank Mason and have the same type of player with the same size deficiency. Seems to make more sense to go with the veteran versus a rookie...especially when it would be filling a bench spot. I guess Howard technically has zero NBA experience so you can dream of catching lightning in a bottle...but probably not.
  4. Hard to predict anything for next year. Hader, Woodruff are the only 100% locks to get tendered a contract. Narvaez is probably almost a lock...but never know. Who knows what they do with the filler garbage like Vogelbach/Healy/Peterson/Arcia. With the low payroll they may keep a few of those guys.
  5. "If Giannis doesn't sign..." If Giannis doesn't sign nothing will matter because the Bucks will be complete garbage regardless of these trades. If he doesn't sign one should still be thrilled regardless because they get one more year of being the championship favorite before years and years of terrible teams. Sure, it would hurt their rebuilding effort, but you might as well sacrifice a few extra years of rebuilding for a chance at the 'ship.
  6. Moderna has announced a 95% success rate at preventing COVID. Unlike the Pfizer vaccine it does not need super cold temps for storage...just normal fridge temps.
  7. Something can be a social issue and a political issue.
  8. Lol, man that play was a disaster.
  9. I am confident we stop them here on 4th down...
  10. Yup and our offensive line should have got it done. Quite simple.
  11. Dude come on, what kind of throw is that...
  12. Finally made a good decision to let it go. Blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally.
  13. The amount of concrete statues in the secondary on the play was really bad.
  14. If all they need is to have someone watch punts and not actually catch them I can do that for cheap.
  15. Offensive line did everything possible to try and make us score no points there.
  16. Yep. Nothing makes you feel older than when players you watched when you weren't that young now have kids playing as adults. I went and checked to see how old Prince Fielder's kids were....the eldest is 16. His younger son is 6-2 and 230 lbs. at 14 years old.
  17. Never found Phillip Rivers to be much of a leader and certainly wasn't much of a difference maker with the football. Don't get me wrong, he has had a solid career, but it seems he always had a solid core around him offensively to make him look good. His defenses were fine and even had a number of them that ranked Top 10 in the NFL. There were only three occurrences in his entire time with the Chargers he didn't have a defense in the top half of the NFL. The fact he only managed one appearance in the AFCCC is a bit reflective of him.
  18. He may be blocked, but that doesn't mean they would make such a foolish trade. Abrams seems like too elite of a prospect to be giving up for Hader. He is already arguably a Top 20 prospects and could easily become the best or Top 5 in baseball in a year or two. He still has so much upward trajectory as a prospect left. I think the Padres have a ton of prospect ammo without even giving up one of their Top 3 guys. The trade simulator site must have updated values because Hader now only sits at $15.5mil. Unfortunately we don't have a guy like Trent Grisham ($45mil value) to help sweeten the pot. Disclaimer: Yes, I think the surplus value on Hader is low (Suter is valued higher), but it is still a far cry from the value Abrams holds ($60mil or so).
  19. Devin Williams got a 10th place MVP vote and was not given out by one of the two MIL voters. The vote came from a CIN voter. Ryan Tepera also received a 10th place vote
  20. I wouldn't expect ticket prices to go up. 1) It is going to send the wrong message to fans. 2) Raising ticket prices does absolutely nothing if you lose demand. Last I checked there wasn't incredible demand for NFL games that fans can go to. Maybe that has changed since I last saw something on it, but people aren't exactly trampling each other to get tickets despite only a fraction of the usual tickets being available.
  21. The thing for many (heck most) MLB teams is they rarely sell out games. I am pretty sure ESPN attendance stats go off paid attendance and only 13 of MLB teams even average 30k per game and only 18 average at least 25k. This is much different than other sports where 100% capacity is more common. For MLB teams 50% capacity wouldn't be a huge detriment for attendance sake...the biggest problem teams will likely face is trying to sell tickets for a less than 100% capacity and trying to maximize how many actually show up on gameday. While selling tickets is a big deal there is much more on gameday that helps the bottom line. A 25k fan limit isn't a huge problem, it is the fact they can only sell 25k tickets and then only 10-15k even show up. With such a long season the commitment to actually show up when the day comes always plagues the MLB.
  22. I don't think people really gave Grisham much hate for his mishap in RF. If I remember correctly more people defended him and just put the blame on Hader. Which is pretty fair, Hader was absolutely stinking the joint up. If the Nationals were tying up that game regardless I think most thought we would end up losing anyway. It was still a pretty giant choke job by Grisham.
  23. I don't think the people of Wisconsin really have room to make jabs at people over drunk driving.
  24. He was willing to play for So Cal teams years ago when he would have been there for quite a few years post trade. I’m not a mind reader, but I highly doubt he still feels that way now...on what would be one last year.
