  1. Considering payroll constraints I will be pretty surprised if Knebel returns. It is possible, but seems like a real obvious place to cut a big chunk of the payroll off.
  2. Position versatility isn't exactly always a compliment. I know I have said it previously, but Profar really isn't versatile. He has played a bunch of positions (including the OF) because he is a poor defender...not because he is good. He wouldn't be a terrible add, but we aren't grabbing him to play 3B or 2B a bunch. You could sneak him there occasionally, but you are asking for some truly horrid defense with him and Hiura on the field at the same time. He could be used at 1B/2B and then some LF, which would give him quite a few ABs in a full year. He can bat lefty so he would make some sense platooning a bit with Hiura. The only problem with that is you are then having absolutely terrible defense at 2B 24/7. He has barely played any RF/CF in his career so I am not sure how dependable he would be in that role. Guessing we would still need a more true OFer.
  3. Exactly why I never comment on Facebook posts, it is a lost cause half the time to even try giving someone useful information. Even when wrong they double down looking like a total idiot.
  4. I can't imagine we would put extra care in resigning someone because they are a likely future HOF lineman...I mean...could people possibly care less about a position? If they were in the business of having a guy have an entire HOF career in the organization it would be Aaron Rodgers. Seeing as we selected Jordan Love I don't think the Packers give any care to lifelong GB careers. I love Jones, but I don't see how we should ever consider giving him a huge extension. We can't be spending that kind of money when we are already cash strapped. To me drafting Dillon was a pretty clear sign we weren't going to chase after resigning Jones for big money. If we were why would we waste a high pick on a backup RB...especially after using our first pick on a guy who was going to sit around on the bench for years?
  5. Was it the Kwik Trip Gentlemen's Club article (aka KwikStrip)? Cause I has more than a few friends believing they were about to get lap dances while buying their Glazers.
  6. People from Milwaukee will definitely refer to places like the Wisconsin Dells as "Up North". I have never asked what they would consider Hayward etc. as...probably Canada.
  7. It is probably true that Dane County is taking in hospitalization from a different area. The Wisconsin site shows two counties that actually have a serious decline (about 50%) in COVID activity, Dane County and Adams County. While that is good, both of those counties are still considered "High" so that is only so good. I am not sure how the state would reflect hospitalizations when a resident gets transferred elsewhere. It is possible that could explain an increase in that South Central region that Dane County is apart of and the rather low growth rate for Fox Valley. Fox Valley has certainly been pretty bad of late.
  8. I hear a lot about lack of masks in the northern half of the state and how they aren't following mandates in general. Yet, when looking at the increase in hospitalizations the northern half of the state is better than the southern part of the state. Really, outside of the NE, the northern half of the state has been trending upwards much less than the southern half of the state. 9/23 to 10/06 South Central: 54% Increase Western: 45% Increase Northeast: 43% Increase Fox Valley: 25% Increase North Central: 24% Increase Southeast: 11% Increase Northwest: No Significant Change As far as mask wearing and infection rates, I am sure there is a lot of reasons for that. I would imagine those people are definitely more likely to get tested. They would probably be much more concerned about if they have it or not. Another thing to consider is wearing a mask is much more necessary in population dense areas, those areas aren't as relaxed on mandates etc. Also consider those areas have much more accessible testing. Of course wearing a mask also means you are going out in public and having the chance at getting the virus. The family I know that is the most stingy about wearing a mask (always wear it, wash it after one use, etc.) by far go out the most and isn't even close. I certainly think there is a large portion of mask wearers that think, "I got a mask on, I am good." There are a lot of things right now that you have to wear a mask to do, for instance an MLB/NFL game. That is a high risk activity you can only partake in if you are a willing mask wearer. So to some extent, even if it helps reduce transmission, mask users are going to be more prone to infection because of the activities they partake in.
  9. I don't know....seems pretty easy to value him. Well, unless you are talking about the fact he has no value and probably has negative value. His 2 year deal is severely backloaded. He makes $10.75mil next year and has a $2mil buyout if his option isn't picked up at $12mil. His poor 60 game season would be an easier thing to ignore if the majority of his MLB career wasn't so bad. There is a reason he only got 2/$20mil from us in the first place and even then most thought that was notably more than they would have expected. We would be lucky if a team simply took his salary, but I don't think anyone would even consider it. Especially so when teams are hurting financially after this year and could continue to hurt into next season. The Yankees don't make much sense either. They already have Hicks/Judge. If they traded away Frazier they would probably just pick up Gardner's option for the 3rd OF spot. Gardner has a way better track record and would be cheaper to boot.
  10. Jeremy Jeffers is a really weird example of a “player we couldn’t fix”. We countlessly fixed him after he was a train wreck elsewhere. He has a good 20 inning stretch elsewhere for once and we failed?
  11. I mean even grabbing Volgelbach was hardly an accomplishment. It was basically just throwing crud at the wall, we got lucky, and he was hot for a week or two. He is still an overweight DH that really doesn't have good offense for his role. The move was nothing more than rearranging deck chairs when we had nothing to lose. Since 2018 we have been solidly on the decline, but when you make it to Game 7 of the NLCS as a small market that's almost a given. By all accounts 2019 was still a great year. 2020 was a pretty bad year for Stearns, but as mentioned he hasn't crippled us long term. Sadly, after the pandemic the front office may cripple his payroll for him. It is going to be tough going forward for Stearns, but I think he has a decent core to build around...especially if Burnes/Woodruff continue to excel.
  12. At the end of last season David Stearn’s pretty much hung out the SS position to dry, which as we know, was mostly Arcia in 2019. I’m guessing they really didn’t want Arcia starting and probably didn’t want him on the team in all honesty. Of course the FA market didn’t work out and we simply scooped up Urias to give some competition and possibly take over. Last year he was only slightly over $2mil, next year he will see a decent raise. If that number goes over $4mil I wonder if they may just cut bait and not have him on the team next year.
  13. I guess I don’t care if the Seahawks win or not. Playoff seeding isn’t a huge deal with no fans. I suppose I’d prefer Green Bay, but hardly a tragedy to go elsewhere with Rodgers. We just have to take care of business and get the #1 or #2 seed for the bye week...that is what really matters. Seahawks winning at least greatly helps us in winning the division. I probably would have preferred a Seahawks loss, but it is really early to be wishing for certain teams to lose/win.
  14. I consider that one a joke (Brewers get screwed)...but I wouldn't argue at all that Jeff McNeil's value is now greater than Hader's value. There probably is little question that the Yankee offers after the 2019 season were terrible "spare-parts" offers and probably not worth listening to. But I would love to know what the Dodgers and the Mets were offering. I don’t think the trade is as fair as it comes out on their site...but I don’t think it is incredibly far off. Jeff McNeil is honestly what you hope Keston Hiura could be value wise at 2B. Hiura may (May) have a higher ceiling with the bat, but McNeil isn’t a joke on defense like Hiura is. That being said I don’t think Hade evens out that trade, especially since Hiura is controllable two years longer. One for one...McNeil has more value than Hader and it isn’t even close.
  15. Somewhat glad the food overhaul, spring training renovation, and Mudcats purchase happened before 2020. Can’t imagine how that would have gone now.
  16. Skip Bayless will call Dak weak if he can’t play next week, not a leader.
  17. If you think Woodruff had a bad year you should probably go reevaluate. He was one of the best pitchers in baseball.
  18. Agreed. I think it would be a giant mistake to let either go, but especially Feliciano. Feliciano will get protected, but I doubt Henry will. A bit far from the majors and he doesn’t have a very high ceiling to be wasting a roster spot on.
  19. You could probably offer Williams/Hader for McNeil and get turned down. Going off the trade value site a fair offer is Mets get: Josh Hader Keston Hiura ($65.90mil) Brewers get: Jeff McNeil ($63.1mil)
  20. Or we could just pay Narvaez less money and hope for a turnaround just like we would be with Gary Sanchez. Considering it would also take some notable trade return going their way...no thanks. If you want to gamble on a catcher putting his 2020 behind him just keep Narvaez.
  21. Gibson...though Henderson may have a higher ceiling for a big week.
  22. I am currently hoarding the likes of Ertz/Fant/Hockenson. I drafted Fant/Hockenson at the end of the draft to hoard them incase one broke out and they would have big keeper value for next year. Only reason I picked Ertz is because the rest of my starting core was already filled when my pick came up, so I drafted a TE. Of course I wanted Darren Waller and he got snagged right before I picked. Of course it is getting to that time of year where hoarding three TEs is hard to logically do. I am thinking of dumping Ertz next week and rolling with Hock/Fant. Ertz just seems old and not very impressive these days.
  23. Statistically he has been pretty good if he wasn't such a dumpster fire in the first inning, as a starter. A bit strange. Long term I really don't see him as a reliable starter. He has little ability to locate his pitches....honestly doesn't even look like he tries most of the time.
  24. $3mil+ to have a catcher sit in AAA and have two right handed hitting catchers on the MLB squad? I really doubt they do that. Guessing the league minimum catcher is the one going to AAA if they hold all three next year (Nottingham). Narvaez and Pina both have proven to hit MLB pitching, Nottingham not so much. If they are really determined to save money I could see Pina possibly being non tendered, especially if there is any concern about his durability post knee injury.
  25. Lazard is still gone and MVS still isn't good. Tonyan is probably the #3 guy on the team outside of Adams/RB duo. He has had quite a few good weeks for a TE too, 3/4 double digit weeks.
