  1. Maybe Stearns should give him decent infielders, then Sogard wouldn’t be a good option to play.
  2. I would be shocked if they tried changing up catcher...absolutely shocked. To dramatically improve this offense and not have another depressing group Stearns will likely have to hit up the trade market.
  3. Pitchers are already punished for walks and they already throw juicy 3-0 pitches? And how big are you making the bases that it would make any real difference.
  4. I am sorry, but Stroman or Bauer are not going to get the job done...and Bauer would probably never come here. They need to get bats for this line up. Part of that is praying Hiura/Yelich rebound...but we need to have a more relevant offense on a daily basis. SS should be an interesting one. Arcia actually ended the season with his highest OPS ever. I think that is more luck of ending on a hot streak in a short season than anything else. I don't care to see any more of Luis Urias unless he simply gets a chance because of injury or sucky play by others next year. If I want to watch someone play average SS and have zero power I am sure we can find a forum member to do it. As much as I think Stearns doesn't like Arcia I just don't know if we will find a worthy replacement. I am guessing will improve offensively easier in other places and thus be stuck with Arcia again. I am not sure why Profar is getting brought up so much...are we giving up on Hiura? Profar is a terrible SS and I think he is even worse at 3B. He played 3B/SS in 2018, but there is a reason he hasn't played there since. Considering Hiura is already on the field pretending to play defense I don't think we are going to add another.
  5. Okay, I know many can relate so I am just going to throw it out there: The 2020 season is over and we don't have to watch it take the field again. Next year cannot possibly be any worse.
  6. Sorry John, this is one of the worst hot takes in the nearly 20-year history of the message board. Well, it is an odd time.... hard to believe this is true. But, yeah, 3 playoffs in a row kinda hard to argue against.... regardless of our record and inability to make contact.... He got us to two in a row. He accomplished very little this year. He built the team for a 162 game schedule and 5 postseason spots. It ended up with a losing record and 4th place in the division. He didn't really earn that postseason spot, we got it on circumstances that were decided well after the team was constructed. Not trying to bag on Stearns excessively here, but our postseason spot wasn't exactly a shining accomplishment. That being said, in the normal world it would be kinda odd if you were promoted after you worst year ever. However, Stearns still has a track record of success in recent years. Much of the young core looked really promising, some additions were nice, but obviously his FA strategy last year bombed. Handing this promotion over to him doesn't really effect the Brewers all that much one way or another. Not like we gave him a 10 year contract and gave him millions after his worst year.
  7. He is likable fellow but he has no business being a key pitcher in the play offs. I actually felt bad for him more than angry. He just isn’t a good pitcher and shouldn’t be out there. He has a 3.54 ERA in 254.2 innings in his MLB career. His ERA+ is 120. That is pretty good. Should he be a fulltime starter? Should he be the first pitcher in our first postseason game? Umm, no...but that isn't Suter's fault.
  8. Well Stearns can't just get up and leave...he is under contract. He got extended before 2019 and I am guessing said contract was probably at least 3 years and likely didn't include 2019 as one of the years. He wasn't going anywhere even before this promotion.
  9. isn't Hiura similar this year? Yes, almost as bad. 13 homers to 4 doubles.
  10. He is currently the General Manager and President of Baseball Operations.
  11. I’m pretty sure us winning this series would qualify as one of the biggest baseball postseason upsets ever. Can someone create a trophy to hoist just in case?
  12. I’m pretty sure us winning this series would qualify as one of the biggest baseball postseason upsets ever. Can someone create a trophy to hoist just in case?
  13. I think you have that backwards. With most President/GM tandems the GM is the one worrying about day to day business stuff, thus allowing the top guy to just focus on baseball operations. A big part of it is to simply give them both a promotion to help keep them around.
  14. That pretty much blows one of the only things going for them in this entire series. The combo of Hader/Williams for a good 3-5 innings to help win two games was one of the only glimmers of hope. About the only way they were going to manage a hard fought series win...now we basically hope the Dodgers crap the bed. More concerned about Williams arm for next year.
  15. Suter has only faced the Dodgers once in his career (2018 Miller Park). He got mauled pretty bad partially in thanks to his defense, but his line was 6 runs/2 ER/3 Innings.
  16. Was he responsible for the RF corner too? That is where the triples would come at Miller Park...especially before they added the little group area. Had to of been borderline deepest corner in baseball, even now the RF corner is pretty deep compared to other stadiums. I know he created the walls in dead center...but hitting those is like hitting the lottery. If one does hit it good they end up circling the bases completely.
  17. There is a pretty sweet video of a guy walking through the stadium before the last game, Bernies Chalet and all, on YouTube. Some of you old farts would probably enjoy it.
  18. I'm with you 100% here. We have to hope that Suter can get three clean innings to start off the game, and then I'd really be tempted to bring in Topa if I were CC. Topa has really been impressive in his recent outings, and I like the velocity change that would occur between Suter and him. It wouldn't shock me to see CC go with Freddy after Suter, but he did just throw 50+ pitches on Sunday and wasn't overly sharp - so that leads me to think we might go in a different direction. I'm not sure if we could get Topa through 2 innings, so I think I'd have either Yardley or Claudio ready to go depending on if we have LH or RH bats coming up in inning 5. If we can somehow come out of inning number 5 with a lead, I would not be shocked at all to see CC try to get D Will the 6th and 7th, and then ride Hader for the 8th and 9th. This is a risky proposition to try to get two innings out of each of those guys, but I think you have to go all-in to win game 1 with your ace scheduled to go game 2. There is probably a good chance it would be Peralta after Suter if he is available, not a mystery that is the typical set up when Suter starts it. Counsell likes the velocity difference and it has worked like an ace at times when they pitch together. However, I am guessing we won't see Peralta. He pitched a lot Sunday and it wasn't exactly pretty.
  19. I am starting with Suter and the rest really depends on how the offense/Suter does to start the game. I am hoping Suter can at least go 3 innings (maybe more) and my next choice would likely be Justin Topa. I am 100% following up Suter with a flamethrower and Topa is the best guy to use early in the game. In a favorable world that gets us through 5 innings. If we are tied or have a lead I am unloading Williams/Hader to finish the last 4 innings. If Hader/Williams won't be available for Game 2, so what, I don't care. If we are going to win this series being vanilla is not going to work. I am using the bullpen in the game that will need it most, Game 1. We will just have to expect our ace can go 6+ in Game 2. Woodruff pitched an 8-inning gem to get us into the postseason and owns a 1.65 ERA in the postseason. To win this series we have to trust that. Not to mention you could easily throw Hader/Williams again in Game 2 if you really wanted to as long as neither throws 50 pitches the day prior. If we got a chance to win Hader/Williams are throwing four innings, I will worry about the next game later.
  20. Maybe the World Series if you are a wishful thinker. The way they described it wasn't promising. Those strains can easily knock someone out well over a month if bad enough. Woodruff missed 6 weeks last year I believe. I would guess he wouldn't be available for at least 4 weeks post injury and at that point he would need to regain pitching strength.
  21. If you guys didn't notice the Brewers game is at 9pm CENTRAL TIME. Lol, I will see the score when I wake up I guess.
  22. Well the problem people have with PT is the fact at-home exercises etc. are a core part of the treatment plan. People don't want that because, lets be honest, people are lazy. I actually think GAME05 would be more satisfied with PT, especially if he is looking for at-home exercises and is motivated to do it. That will be the core part in a treatment plan with a PT.
