  1. Lol....wooooooow. That’s kinda pathetic honestly.
  2. If you told me they pulled some random guy off the street to defend MVS there...I’d believe you. MVS could have jogged and beat that guy.
  3. Cant wait till MVS is off this team, garbage.
  4. Today I was left wondering how much old, but really valuable stuff is thrown out every day. I came across a pile of old Pokémon cards (still trying to figure out where they came from) and I casually checked a few interesting ones on eBay and I have already found a few worth $40+ a piece. People are a little more aware of checking old things for value these days (especially with the internet), but I just imagine someone tossing a T206 Honus Wagner card in the garbage or some other old antique.
  5. Yah...really horrid timing to trade someone like Lindor. I don't care the talent...asking a team to swallow $21mil next year is going to be a hefty ask. I am sure there will be many suitors, but I am not sure they will be giving up a ton of prospect capital to make it happen at the same time. He ain't coming here though.
  6. I guess it depends on the analytics and how many runners safe you need to actually make it worth it. There is no question, when comparing to the teams we faced, the Brewers had more "bad sends" where it ended up not even close. I think part of that was philosophy, but I also think Sedar just had lackluster judgement in many cases. The thing is many of "bad sends" happen with 2 outs...so the probability of the next guy knocking him in aren't incredibly high. I would guess the success rate doesn't need to be very high to (analytically) come out ahead in the long run taking the risk.
  7. So I am in a bit of a pickle. My RBs are still a disaster after losing Chubb/Barkley. I know I have to start one of McKinnion/Hasty as one of my two RBs. Partially because I really have no other option and partially because the Packers run defense is trash. However past that I run into issues picking my flex: McKinnion/Hasty (GB gives up most points to RBs) Noah Fant (ATL gives up most points to TEs) Jamison Crowder (almost impossible to pick as he may not play and has a MON game) Jordan Wilkins (risky and terrible match up) I know generally speaking starting two RBs on the same team is probably not the wisest. However, the match up is great and worst case I should hopefully still get decent points between the two. Do I just hedge my bets and start them both?
  8. After axing the entire social media team I think you are sadly mistaken if you think they are going to pay Sedar 6 figures just because they don’t want to fire him. Also, at least for the GMs, I think those advisory roles are pretty legit...especially when the replacement is a rookie GM.
  9. I don’t remember Sedar being as obnoxious this past year....but I also didn’t watch a ton of games. Great guy...never liked him manning 3rd.
  10. Lets just say Stearns won't be up for any Executive of the Year awards.
  11. Just got an email that Hulu Live is dropping Fox Sports Wisconsin since they were unable to come up with an agreement with Sinclair. Are there any streaming services left that offer Fox Sports Wisconsin? That’s a huge bummer. I checked AT&T and (at least for me) it quoted at $70 for the first 12 months and for the second year they get you for $110. This being the price for the Choice package that is needed for regional sports (and has BTN).
  12. Yah, I saw this guy is suppose to get a solid $50mil+ (potentially). That is never going to happen...pipe dream under normal circumstances...now? Yah, we don't have that kind of money to gamble.
  13. My SSH rep is pretty low on the totem pole, like the bottom, and they brought him back a month or so ago after being gone all season. I am guessing that is a sign they probably aren't going to dump too many (if any). They probably need the manpower with how next season is going to likely be. There will probably be fans and it will probably be one mess to deal with.
  14. I think this has more to do with them feeling the social media department brings little to no value versus a rapid panic to cut costs anywhere available.
  15. I’m not confident the money will really matter. Braun never seemed big on the money aspect both times he signed his contract...he has also made over $150mil in his career. $1mil vs. $5mil...I don’t know that will change his mind. Either he wants to play or doesn’t. Either we want him back or don’t.
  16. I lot of people critical over hiring a manager with 6 pennants in his career and a 50% success at winning the World Series once there. I would have expected a younger manager since they are so early into what looks to be a promising window...but hardly seems like a terrible choice. Figure they would have wanted someone more interested in the long haul...I would guess LaRussa will bounce if they win a World Series much like he did in St. Louis. I guess that isn't a bad problem to have...but interesting they went this route.
  17. Vitamin D doesn’t help avoid it, it helps reduce chances of severe symptoms. Early on there was a connection to Vitamin D deficiency and severe cases. Of course the problem is such deficiency is really common in older people who have so many other risk factors it is hard to really confirm the connection as super meaningful. Vitamin D helps the immune system though, so it would help to some degree having your levels in check.
  18. How does a small market team or a bad team inject extra talent into their system? By taking every player you can who you know you can flip later for longer term talent. It's smart, and the teams at the bottom of the pile standings wise are likely the ones with little to no money committed to 2021. Maybe in a normal year, but this year wasn't and the financial fallout isn't great even for rich teams. The fact Brad Hand is worthless to the point of being put on waivers is a good sign the entire league is very worried about their finances and their 2021 payrolls. A small market could take him on, but if teams are stingy with their payroll next year his big price tag is going to greatly reduce interested teams and his trade value.
  19. I don't think it is obvious who will or won't try to claim him. I would imagine they tried to at least shop him around for something before dumping him for free. Any team could have ponied up something to have him already. I am guessing any team that is a small market and/or knows they will suck really bad next year is unlikely to flirt with claiming them. Probably going to be rich team putting in a winning claim.
  20. Only if they were actually going to hand Knebel $5mil...which I am pretty skeptical of. If a team is dumping Brad Hand for $10mil it seems likely we would balk at Knebel for $5mil. We are already super tight on money before spending a dollar...I doubt Brad Hand at $10mil is in the cards. Unless of course you all like the Sogard's/Peterson's of the world filling out the infield...
  21. I would put the odds somewhere between 0% and 0% of us getting him.
  22. Are we turning back the clock to 2015? Since opening day of 2016 (covering 2000+ at bats), Todd Frazier has hit .226/.318/.431, struck out in 26% of his at bats, and will be 35 by opening day 2021. I hope the team has their sights set higher than bringing in another aging veteran who struggles to make contact and get on base. Didn't they already have Sogard multiple times? Well considering what we did last offseason and the fact the payroll was likely to shrink before the disaster known as COVID...unfortunately I think he is certainly someone they may target. I believe the 3B market is also pathetically weak. You can slide Gyorko over there (I think), but the 1B market is also pretty terrible. Maybe you keep Vogelbach...but that dude really shouldn't see the field and his offense isn't that great. Cool hot streak he had, but I doubt he is actually some huge plus on offense.
  23. Todd Frazier is officially a FA. I suppose he could be an option at 3B.
  24. I won't hold my breath. Urias found a way to be worse than Arcia...something that is almost impossible to do. I wouldn't be surprised if they just dumped Arcia and gave Urais the job, but that is only because Arcia is so bad there is little risk of actually making the team worse. At least it saves money and we aren't continuously handing an MLB contract to one of the worst players in baseball.
  25. Glad we didn't get Ertz...have we not learned a single thing the past decade? Flashy TE names on the decline aren't very productive, Ertz was incredibly unimpressive before he went down.
