I definitely want the streak to continue and make it 3 straight seasons - however it feels a little wrong to become the only team in MLB history to make the playoffs with a losing record. Giants would be the first .500 team...so might as well just be the first sub .500 team.

Hard to be mad if the Padres don’t help us. We should have won half our games this year and made it irrelevant.

They will probably be doing us a favor by letting the Giants win, I still want to back in but really with Burnes out and this offense we are toast. We are toast with or without Burnes. You could duplicate him and we would still be toast.

Rays are threatening a big inning already up 4-0 with a guy on third no outs.

I didn’t hate the Peralta deal because I figured he would be a really good reliever. Whoops, guess that doesn’t even seem likely these days. I know he's a bit older but Topa has a live arm with pretty good movement Certainly seems like a serviceable guy. Decent stuff and doesn’t walk guys, seems like a good guy to have in the pen.

At least we are losing to another team that is hungry to win today. Giants and Phillies are playing teams that could lose by 50 and it would mean nothing to their postseason seeding.

Going to be annoying if we miss out on the postseason because stupid Brett Anderson imploded the last game with a blister. Never wanted him and his injuries.

Aaron Nola got chased after 3.2 innings. Phillies have a lot of bullpen innings and are down 3-0 as is.

Honestly if we failed to score there I was ready to go cheer for the Giants/Phillies to win.

Ump blowing that strike call to Braun could quickly be a turning point in this game if we will have one.

Tampa Bay Rays just got out of a huge jam with the bases loaded. An error aided to the inning still going on to be put in the situation. 3-0 Rays

If we lose and make the postseason we would make history, first sub .500 team ever to make it!

Well, won’t be too sad if we miss the postseason now. Not like it will be a well played close loss...just an embarrassment when it mattered most.

Somewhat relevant: The Padres and Rays both have nothing to play for today. Both teams are already locked into their postseason seed. Both are just playing spoiler. Phillies: Aaron Nola 3.06 ERA Rays: Josh Fleming 3.42 ERA Giants: Drew Smyly 3.38 ERA Padres: Adrian Morejon 4.86 ERA I won’t say it is a must for us to win...but I don’t think I would bank on both the Giants/Phillies losing.

Suter could definitely be a full time starter...but more like a #5. He wouldn’t blow you away stat wise, but he would be a solid performer giving you a chance to win. I think he has more value as a long man/6th starter.
