  1. Devin Williams currently has an Adjusted ERA+ of 1275. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/w/willide03.shtml His OOTP 2021 simulation through now: 6.33 ERA 1.966 WHIP
  2. Despite being as pitiful as you can imagine he still has an OPS near .750. With the DH coming to the NL soon I wouldn't really be in any rush to trade him. While he may not be the superstar people were touting, I still think he is a solid .800+ OPS bat. Not sure what his value would be...he as struggled, but he has also shown quite a bit of promise. Even in 2020 he has had some bright spots. One really weird thing about Hiura is his backwards splits. At face value he is much better against RHP than he is LHP. HOWEVER, when you only look against starters he crushes LHP to the tune of a .899 OPS vs. a .842 against RHP starters in his career...this year the gap has been huge.
  3. With all the arguing I was expecting to see Jesus Aguilar had a 1.000 OPS or something. Instead I found a guy barely floating around an .800 OPS for a first baseman with poor defense. What exactly is the ruckus for, that is hardly some huge loss. Our current 1B has an OPS in the mid .900 range.
  4. The Phillies lost twice to the Nationals yesterday so their intradivision record is now 20-19 with one division game left today against the Nationals. After the Brewers win yesterday their intradivision record is 17-17. Thanks, standings I looked at weren't updated yet.
  5. Giants are in the most trouble. They have to play the Padres and they have the worst divisional record at 15-18. They are just as far back as the Phillies in reality since they can’t tie any of the teams jockeying for a WC spot. The Giants have to end up with a better record to get in. Not sure why the Phillies only have an outside chance. Phillies have to play the Rays, but they do have a more favorable record within their division at 20-17. A win and a Brewers loss dramatically flips the table in their favor in my opinion. Even if they are still a game back after today they still have a decent shot. On another note I don’t really care about the opponent if we get in. I think our pitching in a 3 game series will give us a shot at anyone. Woodruff and Burnes gives us a chance at two great ace-like outings and we will also have two serious bullpen weapons in Hader/Williams. Honestly I’d almost prefer the Dodgers and have a shot to embarrass them in the first round. This Brewers team isn’t going to make the World Series and certainly won’t win it. They aren’t that good and they don’t have the team to get that hot. Might as well go for the exciting first round match up.
  6. Thing to watch with Cronenworth is his AVG and OPS on his stat line. He currently has a cool .303 average and an OPS just south of .900. If he has a hot week I think he wins it, however if he continues to send his numbers south I don’t think he will. He has steadily struggled this month and it doesn’t exactly look good.
  7. I don’t think Hiura is trying to hit that many homers. He is pretty much Weeks with a higher launch angle...thus more homers. That kind of bat speed is going to equate to a lot of over the fence hits if the launch angle is there. I think it just appear he is trying to swing out of his shoes all the time because he is way behind fastballs and trying to make up for it by trying to swinging harder.
  8. For the record we would lose a tiebreaker to the Phillies, but win against the Giants. Don’t think there is any way for it to shake out differently. With the Reds I believe we would have to have a better divisional record to end up in a tie scenario...thus we win there too. The Cardinals could be a glorious mess.
  9. Either that or lower the mound. I also think robot umps are going to really help hitters. Maybe to some extent as zones are usually bigger than smaller. However, there is an unreal amount of breaking balls not called strikes that clip the zone. Especially if the pitcher has a big looping breaking pitch or if it is at the top of the zone. That’s going to be a mighty wake up call for hitters if it ever happens. Not to mention many strikes are called balls too, it isn’t a one way street always benefitting the pitcher. I like to lean it will help hitters more, but I wonder if it might end up not making much of a difference in the grand scheme.
  10. Not his fault he gets 2.77 runs of support. Corbin Burnes gets 7.03 runs per starts. All that run support gives Burnes a okay 5-3 record.
  11. Beloit Cheese Curds or even Beloit Curds....that merchandise would have absolutely flown off the shelves. Much like the Wisconsin Udder Tuggers stuff did. I barely acknowledge a team exists in beloit and I own zero T-Rats gear EXCEPT an Udder Tuggers shirt. I would have definitely bought a cheese curd related item. Of course that may be what they are going for with the cheese balls thing...so aybe a logo only item may be decent if cheeseballs isn't included. Instead they pick? https://www.samsclub.com/p/utzcheeseball-2pk/prod9750010?&source=ifpla&itemNumber=190043&CAWELAID=730010300001286745&pid=ps_Bing_PLA_374379304&wl0=e&wl1=o&wl2=c&wl3=77446950642101&wl4=pla-4581046484907031&wl5=&wl6=&wl7=&wl9=&wl10=31257&wl11=Online&wl12=190043&wl13=&wl15=1239149778870941&wl17=&veh=sem&kclid=44d0f839-bceb-4d29-b85d-1ce2f143597e&wl14=cheese%20balls%20amazon&wl16=4581046484907031&wl21=190043&wl22=&wl23=4581046484907031&msclkid=10cca9cbbc1d1af9a8e1f6a347a55b25 I went Sky Carp. It is the only one that even slightly sounds cool, is indeed funny, and well...isn't completely dumb. The other four are just beyond dumb sounding.
  12. 3 days rest once is probably a poor idea, but twice...and then not get him till the third game against (likely) the Dodgers? You may be setting us up to never get the opportunity for Burnes to pitch in the postseason. Just can't have that. Let it play out, this team should be playing for nothing on that last day. I will take whoever the last game and Bunes full force in another one...instead of a tired half-Burnes twice.
  13. Guessing there have been no conversations to start him on short rest just to maybe have him pitch Sunday on short rest again. If anything he will start per normal Thursday and maybe pitch Sunday in a pinch if it means getting into the postseason or not...in the bullpen role of course. That is exactly what the Reds will likely be doing with Bauer (starting him Wednesday, then Sunday against the Twins if the game is important) ... the difference being, of course, that Bauer is going to be a free agent at the end of this year, and there's a good chance he won't be re-signing with the Reds, so they are more apt to ride him hard. Sure, but Bauer is a seasoned vet. Burnes is an inexperienced youngster. He has been great, but not sure I would go out hoping he is 2008 Sabathia. Way too much risk for questionable benefit. No way they would ride Burnes for 200+ pitches and 12+ innings in the two hypothetical starts. You would probably end up with 8 innings max instead of 6-7 in just one dominate start. You may end up with two stinker outings if he is tired.
  14. Guessing there have been no conversations to start him on short rest just to maybe have him pitch Sunday on short rest again. If anything he will start per normal Thursday and maybe pitch Sunday in a pinch if it means getting into the postseason or not...in the bullpen role of course.
  15. Burnes went from a 3.1 HR/9 to a 0.2 HR/9.....pretty crazy. I think Bauer edges Burnes, but that is about it. Burnes has no track record though so I wouldn't be shocked if he wouldn't even finish Top 3 if the season ended today. Which...to some point I can't blame in a short season.
  16. By my calculations if all scores hold true in the division the Brewers would fly up to #2 in the division with a slightly higher winning percentage than the Cards/Reds. Pretty big game...and not much talk here.
  17. As long as he is reasonably healthy I expect Braun to play. This very well may be the end of his career, I doubt he wants to sit around trying to fully heal.
  18. I think Molitor had the better Brewers career statistically speaking (considering position), but it isn’t a huge gap. That being said Braun at his peak (though short) was miles better than Molitor...in my opinion. Three Top 3 MVP finishes and won the award. Braun had 6 AS appearances to Molitor’s 5...Braun even had five in a row while Molitor only had two consecutive appearances once as a Brewer. The cherry on the top would be Braun was a career Brewer while Molitor had success elsewhere towards the end. I don’t think someone ranking in history should be solely statistical based. There is something to be said having a guy have his entire near 50 WAR career be in the smallest baseball market. I would comfortably put Braun #2. Though I would not blame someone to reminisce about their childhood/80s to put Molitor #2 or dock Braun for his 2011-2013 fiasco.
  19. Alright maybe I was the only one who saw this but: Manager comes and takes ball from Duffy Duffy starts walking off to dugout with a ball Bullpen pitcher comes running in with a ball. If you ever wondered why they go through so many balls in a game.
  20. That entire mound visit we listen to them babble and then as the AB starts we go to an obnoxious Aurora Health care advertisement split screen. Good job Fox Sports WI.
  21. They should just paint the Guaranteed Rate advertisement on the field. It fits.
  22. I’m going to blame it on them sucking and having a terrible roster. They play poorly against these teams because, like them, we aren’t good.
