  1. No excuse from Hader. Throwing hittable pitches on a 0-2 pitch to Rizzo and a meatball on a 1-2 pitch to Heyward. Well deserved L for Hader.
  2. Oddly the best place to be might be the 8 seed. Best chance to beat LA might be in a 3 game series. This is very, very true. If the WS is the goal, and I'd think it is, you want to face LA right off the bat. Although with this roster I'll be happy with any playoff appearance. I think you would prefer to not play the Dodgers and hope someone else beats them.
  3. That's great. Forgot about Gindl. I went to check what homer it was of his career, it was actually homer #1.
  4. The last time the Brewers put up three games of zeros was 2013 by my research: July 19th (Kyle Lohse 6 Innings) July 20th (Yovani Gallardo 6.1 Innings) July 21st (Wily Peralta 8 Innings) The most incredible thing...the third game was a 13 inning marathon. It ended in a 1-0 win thanks to Caleb Gindl hitting a walk off homer. It was a complete three game sweep of the Miami Marlins.
  5. The reason the Brewers won is simple. We were willing to pitch our elite arms in a tie game and the Cubs did not. We used our closer in the 9th, Cubs didn’t, and it backfired on them. Maybe it doesn’t end any different if they start the 9th with Jeffress, but clearly not doing so ended badly.
  6. I’m pretty sure the only Brewer with meaningful ABs with an OPS higher than Yelich is Gyorko...and even then I’m not sure he ‘qualifies’. Last month Yelich is still at a .871 OPS and for the last two weeks is at .922. He has been pathetic for Yelich standards...but he is still the best hitter on this team.
  7. Woodruff has been pitching really well tonight...it’s just a terrible decision to not take the easy out #2. Considering it was Hiura, a horrid fielder, making the play makes it all the worse. He should always be taking the easiest out.
  8. Garcia steals that base if he slides head first. Sprint speed doesn’t mean a whole lot on a base steal and sliding feet first painfully slows you down.
  9. Didn’t look safe at all and the fact he was called out that is an easy no challenge.
  10. FOX does nothing to Skip Bayless after his Dak Prescott comments, he even doubles down after backlash, and then doesn't even have the slightest of an apology. Shocking in a time where announcers are getting canned left and right for any questionable comment/post.
  11. Tyrone Taylor and Trent Grisham have actually had very similar trajectories. Both picked out of high school in the 1st/2nd round, both played well in rookie ball, both had fairly promising showings at Single-A as teens, and both struggled at A+ the next year. Despite the struggles at A+ both were then shoved up to AA and both didn't do very well. The second year in AA is where they took different turns. Grisham hit well earning him a promotion to AAA (then to the MLB squad). However, Taylor once again struggled in AA and basically got his promotion to AAA by default of struggling at the same level two years in a row. Considering they were high school picks it is surprising both were shoved through the minors whether they had success or not. Neither of them ever really got a chance to take things easy until they got to AA...which is arguably the hardest league in the minors for a prospect. I am guessing part of it is the fact they played the OF and there is always an influx of them in the lower minors needing playing time. Taylor is an interesting prospect....ceiling may not be very high, but he has hit well so far in his short career. Even before the big game he has really held his own. In his first taste of the bigs last year he went 4/10 in 12 PAs and only struck out once.
  12. A ton of fans and some on the forum wanted to trade for Matthew Boyd. This offseason one poster wanted to give up Arica, Turang, and Rasmussen. Of course they backtracked after someone said Boyd sucked to end the year. 2019 deadline (before Boyd went off the rails) a frequent poster said he would, “pretty much give up anything in the system not named Hiura to get him.” Many others believed we could never get Boyd without giving up Hiura. Let’s just say Boyd has not been trending up in value since.
  13. I forgot we played at noon...I saw 5 pages (pretty good these days for such a time of day) and was like, “Well...either the game is going really good or really bad. There is no in between.” Wasn’t wrong.
  14. I don’t think they played over their heads...it just wasn’t a woefully difficult schedule last year and they went 13-3. Regardless of the schedule going 13-3 is impressive and they had some solid wins. They swept the division and had road wins against Cowboys/Chiefs. Yes, Mahomes didn’t play against the Packers, but that is still an incredibly hard place to play, elite offense, and pretty great defense. Mahomes or not it was an impressive win.
  15. All comes down to the defense in my opinion. They won 13 games cause their defense could close out games. I am a bit nervous because much of that defense had what felt like career years. Can they take another step forward or at least stay the same? I think the offense will be fine and even improve on last year. I will go 9-7 just because their schedule looks pretty tough on paper. Start the year 4-4 or better and they are in really good shape considering the schedule softens a lot in the second half and it is mostly home games.
  16. Who was the umpire who ejected the fan at Miller park after ejecting a bunch of other people in the game/dugout? I don’t think that was Joe West.
  17. Who was the umpire who ejected the fan at Miller park after ejecting a bunch of other people in the game/dugout? I don’t think that was Joe West.
  18. 1-3 Innings - 1.88 ERA 4-6 Innings - 6.23 ERA Not including tonight.
  19. Arcia with the classic slide into first. Way to slow yourself down as much as possible.
  20. No, he flat out isn’t THAT good. Darvish, Bauer, and DeGrom...one of those guys will continue to dominate. Burnes may end up a up a great...but I doubt dominates to overtake guys like that.
