  1. You know in little league where everyone is like, “Just throw the ball!” That’s what Arcia should have done with the ball to 3rd base.
  2. I am sick and tired of all the digital advertisements all over stadium and field. My god...hopefully this ends when fans can line the pockets again.
  3. I saw an article that young children may transmit the virus for efficiently or something to that effects. I was too lazy to actually read the article...but I figured some here might find that of interest if they wanted to search for it. The masks could make reopening really messy. From some polls I have seen schools do over a third of parents said their child would not wear one. That was before the mandate came down...so it would be interesting what that would do.
  4. A true bubble would have never worked in MLB. There are over double the players in the MLB and more personnel in general. Easy to make a bunch of pop up basketball courts. They are indoors and they aren’t that big. You can’t just go build a bunch of MLB quality fields in a few minutes. Arizona would have given them a few field for every complex. However, it’s 100+ degrees there and it would have taken multiple complexes make it work (traveling). There is also no onsite lodging like the NBA can manage at Disney (so even more traveling).that really isn’t even a bubble so they figured what is the difference just private jetting everywhere...pretty much the same concept with more distance. MLB has the advantage of not having as much close contact, but end of the day they also can’t make a bubble league. They needed adults to make good decisions. Unfortunately in two team outbreaks it appears both were due to poor decisions by select individuals. MLB and Manfred did about as well as they could with what they were working with. The biggest problem though is the scheduling. They left little room for issues and those were inevitable. It seems they started the season and didn’t even know what they were going to do when faced with postponed games and/or outbreaks causing whole series to be scrapped.
  5. Should just make teams forfeit games if they are going to be negligent and start a team outbreak like the Marlins did and possibly the Cardinals...though I’m not sure it’s clear how the Cardinals outbreak started. Give some incentive to teams actually following the rules put in place this season.
  6. Pat Murphy has been a huge part of our success so this is a huge bummer from a baseball perspective. He and Counsell are a great team in the dugout. That being said I wish him well in his recovery and hope to see him back in the dugout soon.
  7. Greinke’s pickup basketball ribs injury. Narveson slicing his hand trying to lace his glove with scissors. K-Rod stepping on a cactus. The Brewers have an impressive list of strange injuries. Doug Melvin and the scorpion. Scooter Gennett cutting his hand trying to reach for the soap in the shower. Ryan Braun is pretty injury prone, but he has truly taken it to a new level.
  8. I’m with homer...perfectly fine taking him out in a 3 run game. He had quite a few pitches as is. It’s his second start of the season...no need to ruin his arm. Not to mention we have an off day tomorrow. If you want to play with fire wait for a day our bullpen is beat up. I just don’t see much benefit letting him go there. Stats would probably scream pull him out in that situation.
  9. Our line up tonight is hard to look at. Honestly it looks like something we would employ in a rebuilding year trying to half-arse avoid 90 losses. Sogard, Smoak, and Morrison are a bunch of journeymen...even Gamel isn’t really a starter. I know it is partially this way because of the match up, but half our line up is these type of guys nightly. We will see how it performs over 60 games, but it isn’t exactly pretty.
  10. I get being aggressive...but jeez. Let’s not make it require a outfielder to throw it 50 feet wide. Especially on a guy that already burned us at the plate once.
  11. Terrible suspension. They gave him 8 games like it is a normal season. Someone has to use their brain and realize he shouldn’t lose nearly 15% of his salary and miss that much of the season for that.
  12. Reports are some Marlins players were out partying (having a night out) while they were in Atlanta for exhibition games. Not a good look if that comes out to be true.
  13. States 14 day quarantining visitors...yah, they aren’t going to stop sports teams from coming in. Most states are in serious financial distress. They aren’t turning away millions of dollars.
  14. I’m glad he is hitting well, but Arcia already has a few mistakes this season you really just wouldn’t expect any MLBer to make.
  15. The only positive of that outing for De Pozo is he got zero outs so he doesn’t have an ERA still.
  16. Roster flexibility, seems straight forward. We don’t need anywhere near 60 players barring a major outbreak...and honestly if we need players that far down the list our season is pretty much toast. I think a lot of is for trade implications. There is nothing stopping teams from adding a players to the 60 man roster and trading them 5 minutes later. If you fill it the other team can only pick from those players...or you have to dump players just to get the ones they want on your 60 man roster. With open spots it would be easy to just add who a team might want. What we might not see as much of is lopsided trades that are say 4-1 deals. The acquiring team would only shed one roster spot, but would need 4 spots open. Could still happen, just wouldn’t be as easy to swing.
  17. Verizon is by far the best mobile carrier for coverage in Wisconsin. I have heard some people will get good coverage with ATT depending on where it is...overall the coverage isn’t as good, but sometimes it will be better in that one specific spot you really need it. It does really well for me “Up North” and other unpopulated areas. Did me pretty well on my spring vacation driving through parts of AZ/NV/CA.
