  1. So, what is your alternative solution? I'll agree that it assumes that "nearly every single driver is a good driver and thinks logically" and that is why it doesn't work. It doesn't mean it's one of the dumbest things ever just because some people can't understand the logic behind it. I think most ideas, laws, ordinances, etc that are put in place assume this. It's unfortunate that this is not reality. Exaggerating a bit obviously, just that it isn't really realistic that people will follow it. I am not sure the solution...not sure there really is one. Maybe if we had autonomous cars that all communicated with each other…(haha not kidding).
  2. It isn't overboard. Every player goes through a hot streaks...doesn't mean Cain is actually going to do that all year for the next three. Even then this hot streak isn't even that great. I remember Arcia made that change and had a hot streak...turns out he still can't hit wiffle balls. Getting excited about a hot streak means Ryan Braun also may be an MVP again...and not many here are going to believe in that possibility. Not saying he can't rebound, but the last 6 weeks...pretty meaningless as far as predicting the future. He has a .672 OPS the last month or so and even his hot July was a .741 OPS. That is still a far cry from where he was in previous years. No one is taking him and the Brewers will certainly hope for a rebound. Nothing wrong with that, I hope he can.
  3. I had to check for fun what players on the current team are entering that area for randomness. If Arcia returns as the starter he likely becomes a wall of honor guy. lol...how sad. At least the Hardy/Weeks/Hart's of the world were somewhat relevant.
  4. I guess two people can be a cult. Of course, one of those two seriously wants to play Moustakas at SS, while the other predicts superstardom for David Freitas. Ha, I think there are four. I guess I don't see the "no risk" and why not idea here. Jordan Lyles is going to start the most games in his career this year. The last time he started over 10 games in a year was 2014 and that was only 22. He is the definition of a journeyman veteran who somehow gets a job every year. His ERA with any team not named Milwaukee is mid 5's. Is it just me or is every thread run by BC92 and one of his personal outside the box ideas? We must revolt!
  5. I am trying to figure out how there is a cult following to extend Jordan Lyles to a 2-3 year extension after 5 starts.
  6. This weather, it is definitely not bugging me.
  7. I think Gennett will be a great bounce back candidate for someone as a starting 2B and it is great people want to get such players for the Brewers....but sometimes you just gotta accept we don’t have room for them. Gennett, he just doesn’t fit.
  8. Lol I think you guys need to lighten up. I won’t even waste my time responding to posts that infer more than I even said and are mostly just putting words in my mouth. The first game is tomorrow, hopefully it will give more to talk about than overanalyzing one post.
  9. For now they have Arcia, Spangenberg, and Perez. Isn’t that enough? Gennett is a huge offensive upgrade over Perez and Spangenberg. And yes, he could play SS occasionally. Would I want him there for 140 games? no. Could he play there once or twice a month without ruining the team, yes. I’m confused are you vouching for him to be on the team in September at which point why is he playing SS ever? Or are you vouching for him to be the utility guy next year at which point he will be playing SS/3B/cOF a lot where he, yes, will be a big burden to the team with poor range and an absolutely horrid arm. Gennett couldn’t make a play in the hole at 2B...let alone SS. It would be simply terrifying to watch.
  10. I don’t get this at all. Grisham has had very sporadic playing time since he’s been up, sitting multiple days in a row, and you’re upset he’s not slashing like his AAA numbers? He’s shown himself capable of big league at bats already, which is all you can really ask from a rookie who’s sitting ~3 Days a week. I believe with regular playing time he would be very productive. Upset? No, not at all. I don’t expect much from a rookie but I also expect us to have an OF in a competitive year perform. That’s all my comment was about since some will do anything to move from Braun even though he’s been pretty great this season. I don’t think that last sentence is true at all. And as great as his season has been his defense really takes away from that making him a fine OFer, but not really anything highly valuable. He currently sits at 1.3/1.6 WAR depending on who you view as more accurate. 2 WAR isn’t a bad by any means, but I’d say 90% still didn’t care about Khris Davis because of bad defense after he left despite putting up 2.5 WAR each season after leaving. So I don’t see why Ryan Braun would be a tragic loss for people.
  11. I know Chacin is an easy target this year but please go look at his career compared to Lyles and try again. Do your homework a bit before posting sometimes. Lyles 3/$18mil That is the worst proposed deal I have seen since Clancy wanted to sign Hernan Pérez to a big extension.
  12. I would say Woodruff, Anderson, Houser, and Davies is fine...but he better find a good starter instead of Lyles. I would have absolutely no qualms with bringing Lyles back as a depth piece. If he doesn't make the rotation, that arm will play in the pen. The guy has been about as close to a revelation as you're going to get since coming back. Oh sure, I would fully support us bringing someone as a depth piece. Not as our #5 guy because that means the depth is likely our prospects once again...and that's not a promising plan.
  13. I would say Woodruff, Anderson, Houser, and Davies is fine...but he better find a good starter instead of Lyles.
  14. For now they have Arcia, Spangenberg, and Perez. Isn’t that enough? Not to mention in no universe is Scooter Gennett playing SS.
  15. I think he will get a nice one year deal for this reason. Just a rough year sitting a huge chunk of it out, got rushed back so the Reds could flip him (about 30ABs in the minors after a huge layoff), thrown into a new environment, and then just didn't get it going. He should be able to rebound.
  16. This made me think of that Lizzo chick, her song debuted on the Top 100 on May 18th....before then we were 27-21 in a WC spot. Since then we are 40-44 and 6.5 out of the division. Seems as though the fat lady has sang. Let's just say, the truth hurts.
  17. I love the optimism. I hope you're right. We're approaching a point where we need to seriously catch fire to have a chance. And I haven't seen much fire the last 2 days. Yah, they are starting to dig themselves into a hole that would require us to be the hottest team in baseball or close to it in September. Not impossible as much as some don't think it is. This team had a big run in the May (?) timeframe this year...so like any other team they could get hot. However, it is better to have good pitching and hope the offense gets hot...not hope our pitching can gets hot and be a bunch of Clayton Kershaw's.
  18. We are relaxed. The Brewers are sucking and burying themselves so badly these days I think everyone is expecting a sub .500 season without the postseason. So anything more than that will be gravy, not much stress anymore.
  19. I think you guys are spinning it negatively yourselves. Because really, I wasn't. For some reason you guys are making picking a school based on playing time as some kind of negative/insult to the selected school. In reality it is probably one of the main recruiting tactics a second tier school can use. When I saw said tweet my initial observation was "he picked playing time" because that is usually the case when someone ranked 10+ deep at their position goes for a second tier school. It isn't like when Mertz picked Wisconsin and he arguably could have gone to an elite school and eventually been "the guy". I don't really care though, I care more about how good a player is, not who the other 10+ teams willing to offer him a scholarship when some of those teams seem to toss out 100+ offers. In my opinion Ferguson and Rucci are both better than him. I nice pipeline of TE talent for years to come as it stands and that doesn't even consider a few less noteworthy guys they added in the 2019 class.
  20. Well, essentially a must win to stay in the divisional race. 7.5 down if we lose. This team is not coming back from that kind of deficit baring a complete miracle. Also pretty crippling to go down 4.5 in the WC race, potentially. Would put us closer to the Reds in the standings than the postseason.
  21. I have no interest in Gennett but I can assure you no one is paying him $1.5 million for the remainder of the season. I see they are flat out releasing him now, still, waste of space. On another note ironic Dubon is replacing him on the roster.
  22. I was kind of hoping Mertz could have attracted a notable WR, unfortunately that has not happened. Actually between 2019 and 2020 they only have one WR recruit and he is a Wisconsin native. Surprises me a touch. And for what it is worth when it comes to TEs I like 2019 recruit Hayden Rucci more. He has added a ton of weight in the offseason and I haven't seen him post that, but the video I saw from prior he looked really impressive and exactly what Wisco looks for. Also Cam Large quote:
  23. If you pay for my gas and the paper bag to put over my head, I will take them.
  24. Y’all are living in the year 3000.
  25. Easy to say bring him up when it isn’t your money. Pretty sure Gennett would cost a solid $1.5mil or so to take on. That’s a lot of money for a few weeks.
