  1. I went to opening day once. I want to say it was like 2015. They were losing 10-0 after 6 innings, I got up, and decided that was the last time I ever attend opening day. Have never had the urge since. I would rather just go the next two weeks straight for the same price...exaggerating of course, but you get the point.
  2. Also need to point out Yelich as an overrated regression candidate when he goes 1-4 with a K. Can't wait till the bullpen blows up a few times in one week. KIMBREL KIMBREL KIMBREL KIMBREL
  3. I will probably watch and sit in the IGT thread. When we start losing I will exclaimStearns and Co. are stupid for not doing something in the off-season and announce the season is over for us. All while scoping out potential additions for next winter that I will quickly propose in the rumor forum
  4. All I care about is the November Power Ranking with a big picture plastered of Braun hoisting the trophy on the thumbnail.
  5. Didn't Corey Knebel get referred for a second opinion 5 days ago? And still nothing? A bit interesting to some extent. I suppose there is no rush because he will be out awhile regardless, but I am guessing there is a reason they are delaying scheduling that or announcing it. You would think they would want to know ASAP if Knebel will be out all year or not with Kimbrel and other possible players to get out there.
  6. Yeah, Counsell's slide was about as blatant interference as you're going to see. But that was circa 2010, when interference wasn't on the rule books. Yah, that just flat out wasn't called back then. It was ridiculous it got called.
  7. I’m not Wisconsin basketball expert, but Wisconsin just seems to focus on defense over offense. At least in the few years I have marginally watched them. I suppose that may just be because everyone sucks at scoring and their recruiting has been terrible in recent years...but I feel they aren’t a fast tempo team regardless. Higher up recruits (especially elite ones) want fast tempo offenses that allow them to light up the stat sheet. Wisconsin wanting to win with 55 points a game isn’t really giving that opportunity. That really isn’t an excuse though. Many teams get successful guys who aren’t top recruits. It doesn’t help since Dekker Wisconsin has not landed any major WI recruit since. They have all gone to Marquette.
  8. 2019 Brewers Predictions Win-Loss Record: 100-62 Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes Highest Playoff Level Achieved: World Series Champions All-Star Game Representative(s): Christian Yelich, Josh Hader, and Yasmani Grandal Offensive Player of the Year: Yasmani Grandal (taking into consideration his position) Starting Pitcher of the Year: Jimmy Nelson Relief Pitcher of the Year: Josh Hader Most Surprising Player: Ryan Braun Most Disappointing Player: Keston Hiura Bold Prediction: Aguilar gets replaced mid-season
  9. Stearns cares if Attanasio spends money if it backs us into a wall come July. If Attanasio says yes, but says the budget will be tight come July Stearns probably isn’t making the move today. So money can be a problem in Stearns world if we haven’t even played a game and are maxing out the payroll.
  10. Yes, and yes. Okay then it is like 25 days...not nearly 3 months. It would still be problematic either way. I am sure it certainly is something in his past that would hurt his value on the open market. Now due to the circumstances I’d think that problem would be in his past...but that is an assumption. I’m not saying Jeffress is some terrible human or that the league should even be punishing players for things like marijuana...but as it stands those are the rules.
  11. How is it a low blow to mention the drug problems? I don’t care what drug or why. Last I checked the suspension punishment didn’t change for marijuana. Not sure what his next positive test would put him at. If I recall the previous times were in the minors....does it reset in the MLB? Regardless it is a past problem one would have to consider.
  12. We have the money? Are you in the Brewers finance department? Or is that...you Attanasio? None of us have even the slightest of a clue what the Brewers can or can’t spend and what specifically on.
  13. The only thing worse than the refs in that game was the Badgers. They stopped showing replays of the bad calls and they should have just discontinued the telecast entirely
  14. Guessing Kimbrels market is at a standstill with Knebel still up in the air. Huge leverage either way if Knebel is out for the year Not sure him being in Arizona vs. Florida means much other than I think we are pretty serious. I’d guess if Knebel is out for the year we sign him. And I think he will be. I don’t think Kimbrel’s arm is of any concern. Knebel is the problem and until that is figured out nothing will happen.
  15. This tourney has sucked so far. There has yet to be a single upset. Marquette and KSU losing are only shocking if you live under a rock. What has been the biggest upset by betting lines so far, the KSU game?
  16. Yes, I believe our 4th rounder. Next pick after whatever we lost for Grandal.
  17. Teams don't constantly buy insurance on players. It is insanely expensive and it only covers you if they get injured and it is deemed they can never player baseball again. Until then you are not getting any money from the insurance. Prince Fielder is the only one in recent memory that actually had that happen. If Kimbrel blows out his elbow we don't get a dime. He would have to hang them up and a doctor would have to say you can't attempt to come back. Unless we are paying Kimbrel $100mil we aren't getting insurance.
  18. I think NMSU has the opposite of a shining moment.
  19. In all honesty the Brewers could afford Arcia to hit just like his line was last year (horrendous). They couldn’t afford to have him AND Pina AND whatever hack was at 2B last year. That was brutal and a total rally killer. Now have a hack right before the pitcher is still bad, but the other 7 guys should be pretty solid making it palatable. That being said to not get replaced before August he needs to hit close to a .700 OPS. Now what all this has to do with Kimbrel I will never know.
  20. Disagree with your take on our young guns. Seamless no. There will be growing pains, I think we all know this, but these 3 are gonna be studs this year. Woody is slightly ahead of the other two because of experience. He’s ace material THIS year. Burnes also potential ace but maybe not this year. I think, like woody can pitch deep cause of his good command.peralta once he commands his FB could be the best of the bunch. But without the command right now will struggle to go deep. That is fine. Three pitchers with no proven experience starting. I will take the odds that one is a decent disappointment. Peralta seems the most likely to disappoint. Wouldn’t shock me if he struggles bad enough to get sent to the pen. I think they all have bright careers, but if you start that many guys that are not proven having all turn out to be good right away would be quite amazing. Not saying it can’t happen, I just highly doubt it.
  21. Will never understand people constantly bashing Chase Anderson just like I never understand why people despised Rickie Weeks. Chase Anderson is a solid pitcher and you could argue he was set up for failure fighting for a rotation spot with a new delivery. Pretty much assured he will start 10+ games this year due to injuries. Heck wouldn’t shock me if a young guy struggles so bad Anderson takes their spot. I think people are going to be massively disappointed in those young guys. Many were successful because of short stints. Going 6+ is a whole new ballgame and I am not too confident all three will make that transition seamlessly. Davies or Anderson...meh. Probably Davies after Anderson’s spring. I find them to be comparable though...Davies with some higher upside.
  22. Absolutely terrible... I picked NMSU and Belmont. I also have Murray Sate so cute another near lose for the underdog. I was really confident in those picks too...like 75% confident. Sigh
  23. Schoop wasn't a panic move, just a dumb move.
  24. Wow did anyone catch the end of the Auburn game? Reading the box score NMS got the ball down 2, got fouled on a three, missed free throw, made three throw, then missed a three throw, and lastly got a three off in one second after a rebound. I mean that can't possibly be accurate. UPDATE: Wow, that literally happened and he airballed the game winning three. I don't want to say they choked, but wow...what an absolute blown opportunity.
  25. I really like some huge cinderella story double digit seed making the Elite 8 this year...not sure why...but I could see it. There are a ton of 3-7 seeds that I just think are weak and should lead to lots of 10+ seed teams in the round of 32 and so on.
