  1. Why do you even care how others posts? It seems the only thing you do is make random reactionary posts in the IGTs...you don’t even need to read to do that. This is probably your biggest back and forth conversation you have had in a decade here...and all it involves in complaining. The only other one I could find is a conversation about people clapping for Josh Hader. Hardly about the game.
  2. Yup, are you unfamiliar with how they work? It’s essentially a live chat about anything you want. Been that way the entire time I have been on this forum. Get used to it because that is how it is ran.
  3. Admittedly I was pushing for Darvish a bit, but that turned out to be a disaster and would have been a huge mistake for the Brewers. To be fair it is year number one of the contract. You can’t call it a disaster yet...though certainly not a good way to start. It’s like Cain being a success already. He could fall off a cliff next year and be a liability for all we know.
  4. I get Yu Darvish hasn’t pitched since May (wasn’t pitching well anyway), but it is still Yu Darvish. I don’t know why the fact he hasn’t been a big part of the equation for so long means anything. Darvish would have been a nice addition for them to get back (potentially). Is not getting Jimmy Nelson this year not a big deal? Never played this year anyway. No, it sucks and makes our team worse.
  5. I mean it would be the offseason. There are many avenues they could go. If he continues the rest of the year hitting pretty poorly I’d really question them rendering him at such a price tag. Pretty sure we could find something decent elsewhere. Regardless I doubt they hand him the job and don’t give someone else decent to compete with. If they don’t...wow, hope it works out. I guess I find it at least questionable they would tender a guy quite similar to Villar (iffy history with the bat) at nearly twice what Villar would have costed after performing this poorly. Sounds like we might want to try and get something a bit more stable. You also have to wonder with Hiura almost here why we even want to pay a guy so much if Hiura might take said players spot after a few months.
  6. At this rate I bet they would. Why subject yourself to another year of suck at a cost pushing $10mil? Stearns may not be all that bright at that rate.
  7. I assume it wasn't planned that way? Indeed it was not.
  8. They have been better than us with out him. Oh, I forgot we never play the Cubs or Darvish. That surely wouldn’t even effect their wild card chase either then.
  9. I know this won’t help the Debbie downers, but Yu Darvish left his rehab start after one inning.
  10. Yeah, okay. Losing more means the team sucks more...and it would take way more than just not having Cain/Yelich to get to the draft pick you want. Not sure that is worth a higher draft pick that we will likely fail utilizing. You are talking maybe Ray and two other high draft picks. Is that really worth it? Pretty sure having Travis Shaw > Top 10 pick. You know? You don’t win big by collecting 2 WAR types. We need superstars like Braun and Fielder. It’s really tough to get them picking in the high teens and low 20’s. Travis Shaw was worth 4 last year and is already over 3 this year. Cain is at about 5.5 and Yelich is going to end up over 4. Our problem isn’t a lack of elite bats...it’s 4/9 of our line-up being a mega black hole daily. We actually need more 2-3 WAR players offensively. Then of course we need better pitching...but the Astros didn’t get good pitchers at the top of the draft so obviously you aren’t referring to that. Success at the tippy top of the draft is getting a bunch of hitters (higher success rate). 3-4 years of terrible teams and drafting pitchers would end up a disaster.
  11. Jonathan Schoop is not signed next season. We are highly unlikely to fall so far out we would start testing guys out.

  13. Our future is fine. Even with a garbage rotation we are still going to compete for the postseason. We aren’t a super team in the making...does that really shock you though? Small market don’t make super teams. We can’t have a bunch of super stars come up from the minors and spend half a billion dollars in FA at the same time. This team should improve greatly next year. The rotation should be greatly improved with Nelson returning (in any form) and some type of big acquisition.
  14. They want to bring charges after months of investigating. This isn’t like thi was claimed to have happened yesterday. Looks pretty bad for him.
  15. Yup, we had three black holes on offense and Stearns improved the best of the three. Then proceeded to double up and added another at the same position. He totally disregarded defense in doing so, but didn’t improve C and SS...because of...defense? Good thing we didn’t pick up a starter too! Even better: Jonathan Schoop has more ABs than Travis Shaw in August...what on earth are we doing? What a disaster...
  16. Except that the Cubs were not on his no-trade list, so the Rangers didn't have to ask him, and Hamels said earlier this year that he didn't have any specific objections going to a contender: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/05/al-west-notes-hamels-wood-ohtani-mccann-chapman.html Your first sentence...exactly. But once again...Cubs vs. Brewers...where do you think he wanted to go?
  17. Why would Hamels not have wanted to go to a team 1.5 games out of first place and leading the wild card? He'd rather stay in Texas and pitch for a last place team? (And I am sipping something good - Kona Brewing Company's Wailua Wheat. Brewed with tropical passionfruit. Highly recommend.) Players with no-trade clauses are usually well aware of who is going after them and their options. Like most players Cubs over Brewers is probably pretty simple. It’s also possible a team like the Rangers didn’t even want to screw around dealing with Hamels waiving his no-trade clause...because as we know that isn’t a simple process.
  18. The worst part is even when he explains his reasoning it still doesn’t make sense. First off he is determined not to use Hader or Jeffress when losing. Two problems: 1) First off that still doesn’t explain why you try to suck two innings out of Lyles. It doesn’t explain why no one else was ever warming up until the game was essentially over. 2) Sure, that was a decent bullpen strategy when we were winning a lot. Because we were leading in the late innings more than we could use either of them anyway. Now we are closer to .500 baseball and are going a week at a time without using these guys! Why?! At some point we can’t just wait for leads once a week!
  19. You are sipping something good if you think Hamels was going to waive his no-trade clause to come here. Worthless argument going on here.
  20. Yah this deadline was really questionable all around. Still time for it to play out, but what an epic disaster so far. Everyone assumed we were going to get a starter...like it wasn’t even a question. Understandable because it made so much sense. Instead he didn’t and now our pitching is a complete dumpster fire and sorely could have used an upgrade somewhere. It just felt like a half-butt job. Why go spend decent prospects to get a bunch of rentals, but ignore the glaring rotation? It was just...meh. I get not wanting to overpay...but at some point we will have to if we actually want to improve our team. It won’t all come from the minors unfortunately.
  21. Someone else should have been trotting in after the first batter of the inning.
  22. How we manage to find trash heap players to soak up innings and Counsell puts them into the biggest spots of the year is incredible.
  23. Why even warm someone up now? Why now? What is the point?
  24. There is no point even watching this team anymore. What a joke, what awful managerial decisions daily.
  25. Lyles comes out for a second inning even when we score 2 to make it a one run game. A normal person would think someone should already be warming up to start. If not you would think even a whiff of struggle would make you get someone warming up. Nope, not us, not the Brewers. Counsell is such an idiot with the bullpen it blows my mind. What on earth are we doing most days? I get not wanting to blow through your good guys every time you are losing...but good god. How does Lyles get an inning to himself no matter what happens?!? This is the stretch run man!!! What a joke.
