  1. I was about to say hang one to Thames...he won’t miss.
  2. That's what I was thinking. Why? Career vs. Cubs: 3.77 ERA, 1.116 WHIP, 12.2 K/9, 4.33 K/BB, .269 OBP, .618 OPS-A. Back when the Cubs where trash.
  3. Click bait article to fill space...that’s what it seemed to me.
  4. deGrom and Syndergaard are both not going anywhere according to reports. They don’t want to move anyone including Wheeler because they don’t want to rebuild.
  5. We aren’t doing C...I just can’t fathom rolling with what we have. It’s impossible for me to pick between 1 and 2. If we go with A I would want to see the plan for this winter. It’s possible we can recoup a lot of the prospect loss when we trade someone this winter. With B it just makes sense because we don’t really need another starter for next year.
  6. Well someone will have to likely be traded in the winter if we get a controllable guy. So some of the prospect loss would likely be recouped. I assume...at least that’s what I would do if I was in charge in the event a controllable starter is acquired.
  7. For some reason I have a hard time seeing Stearns go with 3 trades and all being rentals (hypothetically). That being said a starter that isn’t a rental doesn’t make a ton of sense unless it is a complete ace. Matt Harvey is the guess.
  8. If they barely use him in the pen is it really that likely they are going to move him to the rotation? If he was so dependable in their eyes you’d think he would see the field more. Regardless it just doesn’t make a ton of sense and incredibly unlikely. If there was a chance I doubt they would have ever move him to the pen in the minors and then promote him to the MLB level. If they wanted him to start he would probably already be in the rotation, would he not? It’s an extreme stretch in my opinion. Wouldn’t mind if it happened, but everything points to the Brewers have no interest in doing so.
  9. Well this update didn’t say if he was throwing off a mound. Last we knew he was sort of off a mound. Early September doesn’t seem out of the question...but who knows.
  10. Another good reliever could be picked up in August for peanuts. Give Burnes a shot. He struggles, then move him to the pen in September. Well it ain’t happening so might as well move onto a new idea. I’m guessing the Brewers are going to stick to their word unless multiple starters start dropping like flies. Burnes in the rotation is a solid recommendation to strengthen the rotation, but it’s pretty clear that isn’t an option in the Brewers mind.
  11. Anderson loves the Brewers...to say he would want them to lose if the game ended sooner is complete garbage and not true. I’m not sure about his tone as the game goes on...because honestly I don’t pay attention to that stuff, but questioning his fandom is pretty low. Not really the Brewers fault they get stuck on FS1 and Facebook often. That’s just how the dice rolls.
  12. Isn't Cain like second in the league in OF assists? I know that doesn't necessarily mean he's got a great arm, but he's made some good throws clearly. Yeah he’s probably fine. Just never looks good when making a throw. He also looks like an 80 year old man running the bases.
  13. Are you new here? As I've been told multiple times on IGTs, knee-jerk is kinda the norm. Yesterday was the excitement of the amazing offense and today it’s all about how we need this or this isn’t that good. Gotta love it.
  14. Yup, weakest arm should definitely snag the catch to throw it in.
  15. Robles is way better than Hiura...and that’s no insult to Hiura. Robles is just that great. For whatever it's worth, Baseball Prospectus has Hiura as the 5th and Robles as the 6th best prospect in baseball. They are higher on Hiura than most other rankings, though. Hiura plays the more premium position, but Robles is elite on both sides of the ball. Hiura also is still iffy at 2B and has the injury history. I can’t imagine a team not viewing Robles as notably better. Like a pretty good gap.
  16. Robles is way better than Hiura...and that’s no insult to Hiura. Robles is just that great.
  17. Realmuto, Arcia not being a total pile on offense, and a rental starter. I could get excited pretty quick.
  18. Lol Pina, what a pile. I’d love for Stearns to surprise us with a real catcher before Tuesday.
  19. Burnes is no assurance to be stable in the rotation and I’m not sure how we try him in the rotation in the next two days. They just need to go out and get a solid starter. It would be great if they were more midrotation and not backend...but we can’t depend on Miley and whoever wil leventually take the spot of Peralta. The pen is fine without Burnes, but it is even better with him. In a pen spot you know he can make a great impact. It’s pointless to argue as it is clear it isn’t happening.
