  1. My memory might be off, but I feel like his problem wasn't fielding, it was throwing the ball to first base. Glad you don’t have to throw to first at second base!!
  2. Usually positional players surprise pitching...this guy...well....
  3. Nice start by Suter...real nice. That being said I don’t expect that often.
  4. Play him at 2B and really make sure Villar is good.
  5. Come on seriously. Arcia/Suter get hits and then Cain/Yelich K????
  6. Meh whatever. Grisham probably a little happy. Haha Ask a guy and he would probably tell you he would rather throw one pitch in the MLB vs. a MiLB perfect game.
  7. Hopefully if Suter is doing good we let him pitch a little. Not bail after 5 innings to kill the bullpen.
  8. I get the concept, but I think you take the second out of the inning and just give up the run. Aguilar can make it 3 runs instead of 1 real quick.
  9. With all due respect Eric Thames should be starting. A little surprised he is not.
  10. If you are making a trade for either of these guys and you are only including Hiura and lessers (like Ray and lower) you are living in a dream. It is taking Hiura plus Burnes/Peralta just to start a conversation.
  11. 2nd base is not a need, upgrading it would be a luxury. We would need quite the upgrade to really improve it. You have to be on something pretty good to think Hiura is going to play a big role this season or Villar will play a bunch of SS...let alone both. Only way I can even remotely imagine Hiura on this team is if he comes up in September as a pinch hitter o something. Even then you are adding him to the 40 man to do so...I really don’t see that happening.
  12. Thank god this series over. Cubs series bring out the worst in our fans. First game finishes and people act like the world is falling and Cain/Yelich ran into each other tearing their ACLs. All that and we win the series allowing not a single run the next two games. And now we all can breath.
  13. Seriously?! Hader only got 3 strikeouts in an inning?!? He never shows any improvement....
  14. If we had Perez bunt right here whoever’s idea it was would need to be fired. Perez kills lefties, no need to waste an out when we suck getting sac flies etc. Just my opinion there.
  15. If it is approaching July and your average is close to the starters average it might be time for a demotion.
  16. I saw 2-3 weeks and thought, “Thank God”. I know, terrible of me.
  17. Checking Fangraphs his velocity was way up yesterday. Fastball was more in line with 2017 and honestly for the first time all year. Hasn’t pitched nearly that hard all year. Before last night his velocity was steadily dropping three games in a row. Which isn’t unheard of throughout a season, but sure nice to see him revert back to throwing hard.
  18. The velocity did look like it was up. He has owned the Cubs all year though so I will hold off my excitement.
  19. I’m not sure where to peg Machado’s value or Arcia’s because both massively depend on the right situation coming up and the eye of the beholder. Of course every trade works that way, but with these two I think it really matters. Machado is a massive talent though at the premium position. He has cooled off big time, but if he carries near this kind of production into mid-July he is probably going to garner quite the premium for a rental. I don’t think Arcia could headline a deal, but I think you are really underselling Arcia. He was pretty good last year and pretty consistent from start to end (it wasn’t really carried by one month or anything). I really doubt Arcia has just suddenly lost it and last year was his career year. If he rebounds to be like last year or better that is a pretty fantastic get in a trade. The risk is if he doesn’t at least rebound to last years numbers...if not he isn’t that great of a get. If Jean Segura could have three good months, fall of the map for 2.5 years, and still get a nice package from Arizona I think Arcia still holds a good amount of the value he would have had before the season started.
  20. If the Orioles want to make him the centerpiece, sure. Doubt they would do that so pretty irrelevant. There is legit risk holding onto Arcia. This could be our last chance to extract decent value in a trade. We are a competitive team going into our “window”. If Arcia can’t figure something out in the next calendar year he probably will be shipped off or essentially replaced. We can’t wait three years to get a productive Arcia again. I’d rather give him a lengthy minor league stint and see if he figures it out. If Miller shines or we get someone at the deadline I would be tempted to just start fresh next year unless he hits his way back in a big way after his demotion. Just realized the thread this is in...holy off topic.
