  1. I wouldn’t totally rule out the possibility of Arcia being sent back to AAA. They really didn’t want him back up and he is only back up because of the Saladino injury. Miller could give them someone they actually feel comfortable throwing out at SS everyday not named Arcia under the current roster construction. Of course someone mentioned Arcia surviving till Saladino returns which is quite possible too. In some way I feel the Brewers will actually send down Arcia to be there as long as they originally planned. We will see.
  2. I feel like it should be noted Nate Orf has always been old for his level (debuted in his 23 year old season). The only time he was not at the average age or higher was his short time at AAA in 2016 where he was complete garbage outside of Colorado. He is like a lot of other guys who start out as an old guy in rookie ball. He puts up solid numbers his entire career, but then again he probably should if you are 23 in rookie ball. I hope he eventually gets his chance, because many guys like him seem to get a shot. However, pretty understandable why he has not.
  3. Possibly. Guessing the Brewers see him being able to play more than 1B/2B.
  4. Lame Would have been cool if we would have not started the inning with two outs before it started.
  5. Ball was pretty shallow in left field. Wouldn’t taken much of a throw.
  6. There is no way we can not upgrade C or SS...it is just a terrifying black hole in our line up. Basically makes it where 1/3 of the game our offense hits like a pitcher.
  7. The sad reality is just getting someone on base here will be a mini win...
  8. I think we definitely see a pretty notable addition. Definitely something that says we want to win (not just a Neil Walker move). That being said we aren’t obvious division winners. Bad news I think the Cubs are way better than us, good news I think we have a really really good shot at a wild card. The competition is really weak, in my opinion, for the wild card spots. Really will depend on where we stand come mid-July. By then the Cubs could be easily leading the division by a nice margin. How aggressive will we be with a wild card spot up for grabs?
  9. So years of trash for him to maybe be a decent hitter for a few years? Sounds like a good argument to find a new SS. We need a good SS now...not in three years. We aren’t exactly rebuilding anymore. Draft and develop. If you’re going to just say screw it when your prospects struggle, this “rebuild” won’t last very long. This team is doing just fine with him starting as long as the rest keep producing. We are one of the tops in the league at saving runs. This is very un-brewers like but it’s s big reason also why we are winning games. Arcia is a big part of that. This is one of the problems with having this early rebuild success. It creates itches that probably shouldn’t be scratched. Don’t care who you are or what kind of prospect you were. If we are competing and said player is repping a 41 OPS+...bye. That is beyond pathetic. Of course we already know how the Brewers feel, Arcia’s current production at the plate isn’t acceptable and not worth the defense. He would be at AAA right now if not for every possible option walking past a black cat and breaking a mirror in the same day.

  11. I sure wouldn’t be making it my mission to find a long term replacement...I wouldn’t ignore the possibility if it came up. They definitely should be looking for someone short term for the rest of the year if they want to complete and make the team better though. No need to ride him out during the season trying to figure it out.
  12. Davis was traded a year too soon. We could have gotten a lot more for him the following season but apparently didn't believe he was for real. Scooter believe released was unfortunate. I don't have the details to know for sure but at the time it felt like they were doing him a favor rather than sticking him in the minors. Khris Davis was traded for quite a few reasons. Get Braun out of RF, open a spot for Santana, and the fact he was not a Stearns type of player. He isn’t an a really good player, but it is hard to find a 40+ homer guy who can keep an average near .250 and have an OBP that is near acceptable. I hated the trade back then and still do. It was just an unfortunate situation where another player (Santana) essentially nudged him off the roster. It is much like the Gennett scenario. I liked Gennett...but once again the roster pushed him out. I don’t necessarily really blame Stearns that much. When you start to get a talented roster and depth you will miss on these kinds of things. Much like the Red Sox has happen with Shaw.
  13. That's a 5.40 ERA. Right but he mixes in 5/2 as well. He give you a chance to win as a 5th starter. He’s not great but he competes. Something a few of these other guys should take notice of. A 5.40 ERA is terrible and overall he is terrible. He is not a 5th starter and definitely not on a team trying to compete with a very average rotation. If we have a couple aces... maybe he is okay.
  14. If you are the Phillies you can’t help but slam your head into a wall on how that turned out.
  15. [sarcasm]Peralta...Suter...or Woodruff?!? No way I give up Suter! Take Peralta![/sarcasm]
  16. I seem to remember this happening with Nyjer Morgan at the plate. Maybe against Washington or Chicago? Plush was pretty livid. .. Yah, but he blatantly put his elbow out to get hit.
  17. That was a total hanger to Braun. Knew that was gone the second he started to swing.
  18. Jonathan Villar has 6 WAR (and counting) while Cy Sneed has been rather unimpressive his entire minor league career. I think we got a pretty good head start.
  19. I’d say Stearns deserves little credit for that one. He essentially wanted to only be here. If I remember correctly we didn’t even offer the best contract, he came here for less.
  20. Turang is signing in my opinion, it makes no sense that he wouldn’t. The Brewers know Turang and have know him fairly closely for years. He sounds like he was #1 on their board of realistic players they had a chance at. I’m pretty confident they asked him what his asking price is. If he doesn’t sign he had a major change of heart post draft, in my opinion.
  21. I mean, sure, I guess you could. Easy to say that when it isn’t your money though. Waste some money on Miller and Sogard to not be on the MLB team in a month or so is kind of a waste of resources if you ask me. If we are that desperate just go call the Marlins on Castro or the A’s on Lowrie. Just force a deal there...or just wait. Not saying I personally advocate for acquiring either of those guys, but if we are trying to improve that seems more effective than Brad Miller.
  22. Seems like an utter desperation move just to improve one spot on the bench. Pretty confident we could find a way better improvement by giving up a little value. You know someone who could maybe start at SS among other positions. Brad Miller just seems pointless. Lets actually make a real improvement, not just getting a backup 2B who can’t play anywhere else. Miller is just a feel good type add that does essentially nothing in the big picture.
