Not sure where to put this random thought but... In 2006 the Brewers had a Turnbow bobblehead with hair...this is almost a needed thing next year with Hader.
Our offense has looked pretty sad this year...but the Cubs today, I don’t think we can compete with them. An infield hit and a ground ball hit to CF. That was it. Not a single hit made it more than like 5 feet in the air.
Plush is pretty anti Braun, but I do find it funny that Braun has as many HRs and more RBIs than Bryant in about 50 or so at bats. If you checked you would actually find I compliment Braun in LF...RF, not so much.
Yeah he's absolutely lost at the plate. It's like Villar last year only worse. He needs AAA at bats, we just need someone to replace him that can play good defense. Dubon injury was brutal...and then every other competent possibility did too. At least Villar showed occassional signs of life last year. I’m surprised they don’t have Arcia try to bunt and get on base. Clear Arcia isn’t going to figure it out at the MLB level and I bet they are just waiting for a replacement to be ready. That hit for Sogard might just get him the playing time. That is more than Arcia provides in a week it feels like.
Arcia needs to stop playing. It’s sad when he has gotten so bad I wonder if we should bat the pitcher 8th...because the pitcher looks better at the plate. I wish I was kidding.
I thought, “Arcia sucks so much and hit it so softly he actually almost got a hit.” Of course every time Contreras comes out the stooges have to relive Braun stealing a HR from him.... This time it was him 'climbing the wall to hall that in' If you jump at the wall I think it automatically classifies as a stolen HR. I swear someone could jump at the LF wall at Fenway and someone would say the outfielder brought one back.
The Cubs played it just the way you draw it up... run the guy back to occupied base. Unfortunately for them, Cain outsmarted them. Of course, but Cain never occupied the base...and no one was there to trail Cain. Bunch of guys sleeping at 2nd
But we have went over this, there are no options right now. There will be soon, but right now, there just isn’t. Right, I get that. It’s to the point where I’d let Nate Orf get a shot. I mean jeez. It is a level of suck unfathomable.
If Orlando Arcia gets out in his next two ABs his AVG. will drop below .200 and his OPS will be south of .500 I just can’t fathom how you trot that out when you are trying to compete. It’s been 2.5 months...hard to call it a slow start now.
Yuni B had a 0.5 dWAR in 2011 according to BR. Even Fangraphs rated him near average. How I don’t know, but I actually don’t remember him being all that bad. Errors were high, but as one knows that isn’t everything. Anyway back on topic.
That was just flat out an idiotic play on Lorenzo Cain's part. At some point you gotta look at the scoreboard and not fly into a wall when you have not chance to catch the ball
I think I take Thames there as well. I mean when you got Perez and then Pina...that's two guys you don't even need to throw a strike to. Turned out exactly how you would assume.
