  1. Don’t mind Lorenzo Cain with 36 walks this year. His career high is 54 in a season (last year). Before that he averaged about 33 a year.
  2. Sad day when your ballpark is guaranteed rate field (with a big red arrow pointing down) and the premium advertisement behind home is a credit reporting agency. Not to mention the actual on deck circles right next to homeplate. So unfortunate.
  3. No one is going to care because he made it, but that was a pretty questionable decision by Santana. You better make it a little easier than that when there is one out and a guy is about to be on third. That could have been very costly if he didn’t make it. That’s the kind of aggressiveness Villar used to have (still does to an extent) and everyone complained about.
  4. He will be gone soon regardless of the runs we score if he can’t find a strike zone.
  5. Brewers aren’t not going to move Villar back to SS nor does it making any sense.
  6. Lorenzo Cain and Josh Hader are essentially locks. Most places have Cain as a Top 5 MVP candidate. Being as he has been so good and we are winning like crazy wouldn’t shock me if he actually gets voted in. Christian Yelich is also having a hot start to the year (something he hasn’t always done) so he has a really good chance too. However he missed out in 2016 after a blazing start. And not to damper the mood, but not only is Hader making the roster he is also going to pitch. No way he doesn’t...sorry. That being said since he usually pitch him 2 innings or sometimes more I honestly don’t care if he pitches a single inning during the ASG. He will get plenty of rest.
  7. Considering the fact our current 2B is a bit of a question mark it probably isn’t very likely we trade Keston Hiura. Seems like he is on pace to be ready next year. He would have to be apart of a package for a major player who is controllable. We would also have to be confident in Villar long term.
  8. Cubs have the third best run differential in all of baseball. At 82 they blow us out of the water (+34). I mean we are +34 after a three game stretch where we scored an unreal amount of runs. Unfortunately we are due to stop getting lucky.
  9. What is going on and why is this in the Braun DL thread? Did Braun go to the DL or did we just fail to make a new thread? And now there is Aguilar trade talk...what the heck.
  10. @Chicago South (2-1) @Cleveland (0-2) @Philadelphia (1-2) vs Chicago North (1-2) vs Philadelphia (2-1) @ Pittsburgh (2-1) vs St. Louis (2-2) vs Kansas City (1-1) @ Cincinnati (2-1) Total 13-13 Overall 49-34 Cubs 19-9 over same stretch, Cubbies lead us by .5 game (I think). Cubs are flat out better than us so far...time for that to reflect in the record. They will dominate compared to us this month. The bullpen has been unreal so far...and it’s going to have to be a little more real eventually. Hopefully the offense warms up with the weather (hasn’t been great if we take out that three game stretch) and the starting pitching turns a corner. Then I can be wrong and we will sprint into July leading by a handful of games. Even worst case we should be right in the thick of it come July.
  11. Yah, kind of pointless to ask now. The IGT seems to lean Hader while this leans painfully Knebel. I’m calling BS.
  12. And to think an hour ago everyone was freaking out chalking up the end of the homestand/Series/end to month as a giant dissapointment.
  13. 4 strikeouts in 1.2 innings despite a minuscule zone isn't good? He was clearly gassed at the end.
  14. Fine with the move. Righty coming and Hader isn’t pitching well. Was lucky to not down the ball to avoid a blown save.
  15. As he sits in the dugout looking ready to come out and no one is warming up. Even no knowledge of us this year you should get the hint.
  16. They said Aguilar had a good AB...uh no. There is no such thing as a good AB when you bounce into a DP. I don’t care how many pitches you saw...that ain’t good.
  17. These announcers are idiots. They have said dozens of things incorrectly. They said Bader homered off Lyons...what??? Someone said Miller Field...then Miller Field Park.
  18. Doubt his approach actually changed any so I won’t get too excited. If anything maybe a little confidence with that hit.
  19. There are three innings left against a garbage bullpen. I think we can still turn it around.
  20. I get it, but that play to 2nd goes wrong way too much. Its why so many players pass on even trying to throw to 2nd. Usually on way easier plays that Carpenter attempted.
  21. Carpenter threw to 2nd and Munoz was dreaming. Kind of a fail on Carpenter too. Why play hero to get the guy at 2nd? Just get the 2nd out.
  22. Don’t blame the Brewers for not challenging. He was safe and likely it would be reviewed that way, but then you are wasting your challenge in the 2nd inning with straight trash coming up. I would have challenged personally...but that’s just me.
  23. That is really weird to mention Villar in your Mendoza comment when his average bottomed out at .265ish for a short period of time. Orlando Arcia needs to hit better. The Brewers are obviously not okay with how he was hitting. They have the worst SS depth imaginable and they still demoted him.
  24. Those aren't his numbers. Not sure where you are getting that. He's at. 280/.331/.387/.718 Villar’s last 28 days. Don’t know how I left that out. Regarding the lack of blunders mentioned by someone else I think the Brewers have changed something. I think before they encouraged him to be wrecklessly aggressive and now he is strictly told to follow the signs he gets. His defense has actually been pleasantly good. Even Fangraphs has him positive on defense.
