  1. He catches the ball. He doesn't make Knebel have zero break on his curveball.
  2. What a sad sad joke. Stop swinging for the fences.
  3. So everyone hates the statistics on bunting over runners...how about all or nothing swings in walk-off situations?
  4. Terrible AB by Thames. Just worthless swinging like that. Get a hit other than a HR man.
  5. Last night's was basically a tie. It was impossible to tell. It was fairly easy to see he was safe on this one. Sigh. Yup that call was an absolute travesty. How do you not call him out after watching that. Wasn't even that close.
  6. What a play Neil Walker. Gutsy play. You botch that and disaster.
  7. Game 6 of the 2011 NLCS. I didn't even turn on the game. Shaun Marcum was just gassed for weeks and the Brewers refused to start (Gallardo?) on short rest. No way we were winning that game with Marcum. Not sure if being so sure of the outcome you don't turn on an NLCS game makes it better or that much more depressing.
  8. Three walks to start an inning and we have an out. Lol
  9. I mean wow. Just six months ago BleacherReport ran an article predicting us to go 62-100 and here we are just one game out of a playoff spot at 81-70. What a time to be alive.
  10. Maybe the bickering was the juju Anderson needed to get out of the jam. Keep bickering guys, all the way to the playoffs. You'll be the Brewers Waldorf and Statler. Maybe that's the secret to this shocking year. All the bickering, fighting, and negativity in the IGT.
  11. While you guys were bickering Chase Anderson just pitched out of a massive jam to keep it 1-0.
  12. He really hasn't been injured all too often when you think about it. Yeah, he missed a bit this season and in 2013 but every other season he has played 135 games or more. He has been banged up but still has managed to play quite a bit over his career. 135-140 is still quite a bit of time off. Not terrible, but certainly not just normal days off. This year abviously is going to be pretty brutal. He is a 135 game player best case scenario since he has so many planned off days. Any notable injury will just make that lower. Partial season player moving forward if you ask me. This season should be closer to the norm moving forward.
  13. He's carrying a 1.7 WAR this year in a partial season. If you're going to use that stat comparatively, you need to look at number of PA's. He is a partial season player. So I don't see a huge problem with that. Being injured all the time makes you a bit less special.
  14. The offense has been pretty respectable despite the unfortunate cold streaks he has been prone to this year. The most unfortunate thing is the fact he really hasn't carried this team at all and that is what one would expect out of him. He just rarely ever comes through when we need him to. Couple huge hits would make paying him so much a whole lot more forgettable. There is some hope he can rebound next year and that would be really nice. While it certainly has been very dissapointing this year at least he has still put up some numbers.
  15. For what it is worth in a tiebreaker situation the Rockies would host game 163 and we actually currently hold the rights to game 163 against the Cubs if need be.
  16. The only positive coming from this is the fact it pretty well sank the Cardinals season. So now when we play them at the end of this month they won't be hunting a postseason spot. Sure they have the motivation to make us miss too, but nowhere near the motivation to make it in themselves. Hopefully their fans stay home too. Would have been nice for them to win one so we could still be in the divisional race, but now we depend on 3/4 or better outcome in our series with them. Also doesn't help we have a better record than the Minnesota Twins who hold an AL Wildcard spot. Makes one want to punch a wall, but I guess it is what it is.
  17. Look at the Marlins this month...they are absolute trash.
  18. 2 back and this team is on fire. Get excited.
  19. At this point I just assume Nelson will be ready or close to ready. Of course that can change. I think they go out and get someone to tie down a spot.
  20. I'd have to think Suter will be long relief. He has been pretty decent this year and it will keep him stretched out enough to do spot starts too. Jeremy Jeffress will be in there somewhere too I would have to think. Andrew Swarzak will definitely be back in my opinion. He has pitched well, our bullpen was a hot mess before getting him, and we have all the cash in the world to make it happen. I also think Josh Hader is back in the bullpen. I think we will be set in the rotation where he will provide more for us as a late inning guy. He should be an interesting case in spring training.
  21. I like how you think.
