  1. Congrats to Wisconsin native Gavin Lux. Went and watched him a few times...will definitely stick at SS. Highest pick for a Wisconsin player in a long long time.
  2. Oh good because that is all I need. Royals didn't have an Ace and did just fine last year. Also you can find Aces down in the lower minors before they get big. Teams do it all the time.
  3. Do you read? Guess not because he didn't say it would.
  4. Dang it if only we had the best trade chip of the summer or more picks in the top half of the first round in the future. Groome was our only chance to ever get an Ace.
  5. I am glad we picked one of the cornerstones for the next competitive team. Not only that but a great all around player. Not some player who strikes out a lot or horrid on defense that plagued us before.
  6. Nah because I understand why the Brewers and another good 10 teams passed on him. I am sure front office officials are the same way. I am not someone who looks in retrospect to grade everything. That's for the casual fan.
  7. Ray Lankford? I would be pretty happy if he puts up that kind of offense in today's game. Also he could play CF we don't know that yet. Don't jump to conclusions.
  8. He isn't really a tweener. Most think he can hit 15-20 homers a year on average. And honestly when he is hitting .280/.360 with 40+ stolen bases he will be good to play anywhere.
  9. From the reaction you would think Corey Ray was the 150 ranked draft prospect.
  10. No chance. These guys are going to get gobbled up somewhere between pick 20 and pick 44. When teams who have 3 picks before Milwaukee's #45 take them. Philly will probably have 5.5million when they start the 2nd round. Atlanta too has so much cash. San Diego or LA Dodgers. Even if one did it doesn't matter as we wouldn't have the money to give them what they want.
  11. Well at this point he has to be picked by someone who can underslot other selections to give him the $4mil he wants
  12. You guys are acting like this was our only shot to get an ace type pitcher. Honestly we could probably get a safer high ceiling pitcher in a Lucroy trade if we honestly want one badly.
  13. Should be noted he hit 15 HRs in about half the at-bats an MLB starter gets in a year. Obviously using a metal bat makes a difference too. Even though he is a college bat there is still room to grow.
  14. I think they picked Corey Ray because he was the best player on their board. Not because of how fast he would get to the majors.
  15. Yup I will never blame the Brewers for passing on him. He has the pitches, but man is he a massive risk. Groome was also a massive risk. I want an ace like the rest of you, but taking a huge risk like Puk/Groome could blow up in your face really fast. I understand some risk, but in my opinion those two might have been just too much of one. Also Corey Ray won't sign for that much underslot because he was a Top 5 talent.
  16. 5 years from now we will look back on passing on Puk/Groome. Hopefully glad we did passed on them.
  17. Not to mention pretty "ehh" guys.
  18. Just an FYI the draft is being streamed on MLB.com for anyone not by a TV or one who does not have MLB Network.
  19. Reading into that chat previously posted part of Groome's problem is his in game attitude. Teams are worried his emotions and the mental game will limit his success.
  20. And the guy thatcould fall all the way out of the first round if we don't take him might be willing to work out a deal to be taken at #5. I am shocked.
