  1. The flannel style jerseys aren't cool base. A lot of times(I know in the past) these one off jerseys aren't even Majestic brand. It's a Majestic Authentic Collection. I'd go take a picture, but its Sunday and I'm being lazy. Take my word for it. That is fine I am just saying a lot of them haven't been. There was one jersey(maybe a Bears one) that was made by some strange brand I had never heard of.
  2. Yah you would think his cheap control and production would be really attractive if a DH was put in place so fast. Suddenly 15 teams would need a DH suddenly. I am still skeptical it will be put in place in 2017. That seems too fast and 3 years seems more realistic.
  3. 1) Jonathan Lucroy 2) Will Smith 3) Jimmy Nelson 4) Khris Davis 5) Jeremy Jeffress 6) Wily Peralta 7) Ryan Braun 8) Taylor Jungmann 9) Zach Davies 10) Scooter Gennett Yes I left off all the prospect type guys...sorry. Regarding my list I have heard Will Smith could have a lot of value. More than a lot of people realize. A big drop after #5...after that they are only worth marginal prospects at most. I thought about dropping Ryan Braun entirely off this list. It sounds like with his entire contract he is pretty much unreadable. Though I like to think he may be worth something the the right team.

  5. The thing is we don't really have depth at SS. Outside of Arcia there is no guy who projects as a possible starter. Yes both Lata/Gatewood will move somewhere else. Villar really isn't a starter as far as anyone can see and Y. Rivera is nothing special. Why not acquire a guy a long way off or a player who could possibly do well at 2B?
  6. I don't think anyone would be moving in. A college team cannot pay the the money to lease Miller Park...AAA team is probably in the same boat. The stadiums upkeep would be too high with not enough revenue coming in. Miller Park would probably sit empty and dark until another MLB team decides to come here.
  7. You will probably be the only person to reverse and pat him on the back. Everyone else was already good with his moves. Personally I don't care for either signing. Let some young guys play CF and 3B. Both have pretty low upside as mid season trade guys.
  8. Yah I really wonder if he is just mad the Brewers had no interest in an extension. If winning was so important why was he asking the Brewers for an extension? Lucroy was hoping to cash in on his unrepeatable season, got denied, and followed it up with an average season. Now his chance to cash in big has passed if he can't bounce back. I don't know Jonathan Lucroy is a whole lot of talk. Wants to win, but was a major reason of the 2014 collapse July/August and last year in the first half. Sure wouldn't bother me as much if he was pulling his own weight.
  9. Trade for Lucroy and turn around and trade Cervelli for something else of need? Maybe trade for Lucroy and then trade Cervelli to recoup some of the prospects lost while gaining a year of a very good catcher? Lucroy has an extra year of control so there is that. They must have something in mind to call about Lucroy. Unlikely landing spot none the less.
  10. Ryan Braun's biggest concern is his health. Of the last 5 years he was only healthy in one of them(2012). He has now put together quite a lengthy injury history and has two long term concerns(back/thumb). His contract is pretty steep considering the injury concern and his age on the wrong side of 30. Honestly I think he would need a highly productive first half and no bad injuries(back/thumb specifically) to really bring back up his value. Possibly even a full year and I doubt he can do that at this point. *Please note I am considering 2011 a non healthy season because he admitted to taking PEDs for injuries. So in my mind he cheated to stay on the field. His words not mine*
  11. davis has two minor league options remaining. domingo santana has one minor league option remaining. if davis is kept optioned for most of the 2016 season, any major league club (including the brewers) would have an extra year of control of the player. that's an increase in value for any club. is it fair to davis to bury him in the minor leagues? probably not, but it may be in the brewers' best interests to do so. That would most certainly not be allowed. Khris Davis would win a grievance, probably cost us lots of money, and we would look absolutely horrible. If you floated this idea in the Brewers front office you would be launched off Bernies Terrace.
  12. I think I will side with the former MLB players who think these comments were bad and do not help his trade value. You guys are so sure they are harmless, but people who have actually been in a MLB clubhouse seem to think otherwise.
  13. Because not all of us are about offense offense and more offense. Letting pitchers hits adds something to the game. Strategizing around the pitchers spot is interesting. In the long run it is better for the game. No more rallies killed by the #9 guy etc. However there are aspects I will miss about pitchers hitting.
  14. Maybe we can stick Braun there and he won't have a revolving door of injuries....wishful thinking. I prefer pitchers hitting, but I much insist on both leagues being the same. It seems the DH is the only realistic way so just get it over with.
  15. Still waiting for a link to this reliable source.
  16. That is because baseball teams are businesses. You typically want to make money and throwing your own money in doesn't achieve that. Typically you put in what you make from the team. Just because the owner is worth billions doesn't mean the team can carry a $200mil payroll. These guys became rich business men for a reason.
  17. Pretty much anyone's thoughts. Though I doubt Attanasio feels like doing such a thing and even if he did want to it is questionable if it is actually worth it. $12mil for a prospect in the lower top 100 is a lot of money.
  18. Bad example. Not saying the statement is right or wrong, but the Swanson trade is an outlier. Not to mention 95% of people think it was highway robbery. Actually good example, I too would like to commit highway robbery. Don't hold your breath.

  20. I'm going to stop you right there. Look I know JS is garbage for anything that takes knowledge to know(trade ideas etc, etc.), but in this case I think it is useful. They are fans and clearly many are not thrilled with the comments. Their conversations are the same there as here on the subject. FS Wisconsin also posted it on Facebook getting much of the same reaction. See the trend?
  21. I believe I posted it on this site at some point last season, but I looked up where he ranked on other stats(OBP, SLG%, etc.) and he was dead last as a SS in the majority of them and ranked bottom 5 in a lot more in MLB as a whole. Don't sugarcoat the 5 he is half decent in. The rest of his game is so bad it is almost amazing to watch. Last year Segura was the second worst SS only behind Alexei Ramirez.(Fangraphs) Last year he ranked 128/141 in all of MLB.(Fangraphs) *Both figures include defense* Jean Segura has been one of the leagues worst players for two years straight. Jean Segura is as much of a starter as Yuni B was for us in 2011. Only reason he is a starter is out of complete desperation and lack of a better option. Jean Segura the past two years has had the same overall performance as Yuni B did in 2011? Do you think Yuni B had starting SS caliber stuff back then?
  22. I read the JSonline comments for a better understanding of the view on this and it seems the majority weren't happy with his comments. Even the guys who agreed with him mostly though the comments probably weren't the best public comments to make. Also he did not demand a trade, but he made it quite clear he would like one badly. It was just a giant knock on the Brewers and their organization. No player should ever go into the season saying "We suck and have no chance." I can't even remember the last time I heard a player make such a comment. His comments coming out right when he decided to not to to go to Brewers On Deck was also a poor move. Possibly the top fan favorite and he opts not to take 2 days of his life to come to a very important event. Rubs a lot of people the wrong way and after his comments it makes him out to be a bad guy.
  23. With the amount of talent the Brewers will be pushing through the minors here in the coming years I imagine many teams will be interested in the Brewers for a AAA team.
  24. Sure most people know the Brewers aren't going to compete, but there is also a sliver that always have hope. There are also fans that are ticked because they think the team isn't going to try hard because they won't be competing. A comment like this supports that kind of thinking for them. If you aren't going out there and trying to win every game what does that say? Because from his comments he has no confidence in the rest of the team and that probably makes a lot of his teammates unhappy. He is insulting his teammates indirectly. I get it you don't care...most hardcore fans probably aren't going to care because we understand, but looking at the big picture these are comments any player shouldnt say. Sure they might lose 100 games this year, but no one in the organization needs to go around shouting it. No one needs to go around saying how much they want to be traded and go elsewhere either. This informed fans group you speak of is a pretty small section of the fanbase. You have to keep the uninformed as happy as possible too because they are a huge chunk of ticket sales.
  25. Geez, dude. They asked him a question and he answered it honestly. What do you want/expect him to say? The fact that he had a bad year last year doesn't negate the fact that his opinion carries weight on/with the Brewers. He doesn't have to answer every single question and saying your team won't compete in the upcoming season?...That takes one special person. All Lucroy is doing is hurting the Brewers with his comments. These kinds of comments hurt trade value and it makes fans not happy with the team etc. How many other Brewers have said the team is going to suck this year and stated how much the team should just trade him? Any?
