  1. Wow really another occasion with Lucroy talking bad about the team? Shocking. Get the loser off the team already. All he does is complain and tell the team what they should do with him like he is the almighty God. Maybe he should shut his mouth and focus on his on the field performance. He was one of the reasons we were so horrible last year.
  2. Arrogance much? Good to know that the "only" Brewers fans that have a clue about baseball are those that post on a blog site that the vast majority of fans haven't even heard of Did you look at the list? The alumni and Braun are the only ones your casual fan would really know. Scooter I suppose because he's got a funny name and the kids like him. Most of those guys were on the MLB roster at the end of the season, people know who Arcia is, and another big chunk are guys we recently traded for. Not to mention a few recent FA signings. If you don't know at least 75% of those names you aren't even a casual fan. You are the guy who wears a Brewers shirt because you found it at goodwill.
  3. Wasn't there last year...I believe Garza didn't go either.
  4. Padres get the normal sandwhich pick after the 1st and before the 2nd round. You may have forgotten but the days of actually getting the teams pick are long gone.
  5. Excuses Excuses Excuses. When is it just the fact that Jean Segura is a bad MLB player? Didn't he hit better after the tragedy of losing his son? Just watch him play. He has been brutal ever since his little hot start in 2013. Also are people seriously trying to compare him to Alcides Escobar? Escobar has been pretty inconsistent offensively, but he has put together three solid years while Jean Segura has zero throwing out his obvious 2013 fluke. Also Escobar's defense is way better. I'm sorry but Jean Segura has something like 1 WAR in his career outside of the first half in 2013. I don't care how low our payroll is that is a waste of money.
  6. That roster is going to beat the 2019 Cubs who'll have Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, Heyward, Russell all still in their primes and no doubt some major arms they'll simply buy on the open market? Dream on! Did you like read the article? Was that ever the claim? Umm no. Said 2019 the contention window should just be opening.
  7. Khris Davis is also an interesting miss. Wily Peralta has gone in the past, but not ever surprised if a foreign guy misses. There is a surplus of alumni if that is your thing though. Outside of that pretty typical.
  8. I doubt they will have any dramatic change like that. Most likely a new jersey(minor changes).
  9. Why? His fly balls will go 280 feet vs. 275 feet? When does he hit fly balls? Grounders galore. Well I was just saying the fly balls he hits won't get any help at Coors.
  10. Why? His fly balls will go 280 feet vs. 275 feet?
  11. This 1000x Thread should locked to save us all.
  12. I think you guys are underestimating the effect even the T-Rats have on the Brewers. With booming ticket prices the gap is beginning to be quite massive. Why should I spend a fortune to take my family to one Brewers game when I can go to 5+ T-Rats games for the same price? Not to mention pay a fraction of the price for beer, food, parking etc. You add in a AAA team to the mix and even 40,000 less fans costs $1mil in lost ticket revenue. Add in all the other extras and clearly you are talking about a huge chunk of cash. Or you know they could just keep them far away and have no negative effect. In their market that is most sensible.
  13. I really wish they would trade him and open the door for someone else. The upside/hope on Segura is pretty small at this point. We have some interesting guys to test out and Segura is just a near worthless roadblock. i think he is a waste of roster space and a waste of $2.6mil.
  14. Miller park has plenty of life left. Modern day ballparks are made to last a lot longer than they used to. I wouldn't be surprised to see Miller Park push past its 50-75 birthday. What have the most recent ballparks around MLB built that makes Miller Park feel outdated? Not really anything.
  15. You pay 30-45 days worth of the contract depending on when you cut them in Spring Training. However if you cut a player and they won their arby case MLBPA is coming at you hard. You would have to prove the player was cut for performance and not economic reasons. So if Segura has a big spring training better than our other SS options and we cut him we could possibly be on the hook for his entire salary figure. And you 100% can't drop him the next day or else you will be on the hook for the full arbitration price after MLBPA files a grievance. You would have to wait till the end of spring training(or close to it). MLBPA takes the arbitration process very seriously.
  16. Brewers wouldn't allow it that is the problem. We already talked about this once where, in the Brewers case, it would pull away from the MLB attendance etc. to where it wouldn't make sense for them to put the AAA team close to home.
  17. Actually if anything we overpaid. He was predicted to get $1.2mil.
  18. The problem is San Antonio isn't an obvious move for the better. I can see it being better. If you start losing in that market the games will start looking like Cleaveland Indian games. Even when you are winning good luck competing with to other teams that already control Texas. Not to mention what are the chances the Astros AND Rangers agree to such an idea? Probably between -100% and -200%. NEVER in a million years would I ever expect this to happen. Honestly a Charlotte team would make a lot more sense if you ask me. Maybe even an Indianapolis team would make more sense than San Antonio. Heck even a Mexico team is more likely than San Antonio.
  19. Are you seriously suggesting that the Brewers could move to San Antonio if the they build an NFL stadium and the rebuild takes too long? There are so many things wrong with that but I'll just start by saying MLB wouldn't allow a franchise to move into a football stadium, no matter how new it is. I thought he was talking about if they construct a AAA stadium they would leave room for expansion. Similar to another stadium(Portland) that allowed increase to temporarily hold an MLB team while a real stadium is built.
  20. Cubs...I hate them with a passion now and I want nothing but for them to suck because they are our rival. However, if the Brewers jumped ship I wouldn't care about the Brewers one bit. Cubs are probably my second favorite team...if they weren't in our division. I know...I know.
  21. Not so fast John...here is some food for thought: 1. San Antonio's TV market is no better and even slightly worse depending on where you get your info. 2. While the population is larger I bet you would have a bigger fan base in Milwaukee. In Milwaukee you can pull the entire state where in San Antonio you would struggle to get out of town fans. They would probably draw more staying put where they are with their devoted fans. Good luck competing with two other already solid fanbases. So a move to San Antonio would not make sense. There would be nothing to gain and much to lose.
  22. Obvious move. 0% chance we ever stayed longer. Only reason we were there is because Nashville kicked us to the curb so late.
  23. Time to trade Lucroy is slowly dwindling. If you ask me if a team wants him they will pay up before catchers/pitchers report. After that date passes the odds he gets traded will plummet. Once you get to spring training that is when you just roll with what you have.
  24. Are high school sports even suppose to be preparing kids for the real world? Is that why they exist? I don't really think so...so why is this such a tragedy? I really don't think we need to prepare kids through sports. That is what getting a part time job is for. I opened that article immediately closed it when I saw, "Ruining the fun". The games aren't about the crowd. That is just sad and I bet the rest of that article is a bigger joke past that.
  25. As mentioned multiple times the kids are probably the people that care the least about all these chants. Regardless chanting or no chanting has no effect on a child's future. Saying air ball is not going to make a person stronger for the future. But like I said I doubt many kids care either way. I really don't see the issue unless you are the type of person that likes sitting in the stands laughing at kids and making fun of their skills...if that is, well...that is unfortunate.
