  1. I thought the PTBNL ended up being Victor Castaneda. But he hasn't pitched this year, has that been nullified? I hope Javy clears waivers for us.
  2. Sign forest is Watson Lake so yep that tracks. I fly at Christmas and sometimes in summer but my preference is to drive it. It’s a haul but I like the road and the scenery. Plus the town I’m in is sort of a landlocked island so when I get the chance I’m always ready to watch the windshield.
  3. Oh no arguments from me on that. I use their website mainly because their box scores format and load decently. Sports center once in a while I’ll watch and usually come away with affirmation of why I seldom watch it. I do sometimes get pulled in if a Brewer makes a great play, to see If he’s in the top 10.
  4. I love how the article on espn said "The first-place Brewers haven't had much go wrong, but now they will move forward without the upbeat Mitchell" Let's see...Ashby, Taylor, Houser, Woodruff, Varland, Urias, Mitchell all on the IL who else am I missing? Oh yes, Burnes' pec strain. Yeah that's not much wrong at all.
  5. I'm guessing the area with all the animals you're referring to is that stretch between Muncho Lake and Liard Hot Springs? There's always a ton of bison along the road every time I pass through there, not to mention all the other wildlife you're apt to see.
  6. I just wish the Brewers had gotten a chance to shellac the madbum during the AZ series.
  7. For a split second I got excited thinking that was Chi Chi going for the Ms tonight, until I saw LHP. I took a quick look on bref. In case you're wondering (and you're probably not) Chi Chi is with Miami's AAA club with a very Chi Chi like 1.5 WHIP this season so far.
  8. Not surprising based on this photograph alone...
  9. I could be misremembering things here but I thought Lincecum's career was ended by problems with his hips not his labrum.
  10. Jean Segura is one that comes to mind as far as former Brewers comps goes.
  11. For sure. Didn't expect that in game 2 already, obviously, but expected him at some point not too far down the road with Taylor on IL. Hopefully Milwaukee handles the youth on this club, in terms of service time and development/playing time, in a way that we all are in agreement with. 😃
  12. Stinks. I was looking forward to a really good season, possibly career season, for Urias this year. The one silver lining to it is, it makes Turang pretty much a regular player to start out his MLB career. He seems like a someone who could really take that opportunity and do well with it. Here's hoping!
  13. You don't? I do. C'mon Brock, you telling us you didn't like watching David Cone argue with the 1B ump with the ball in his hand while everyone ran free and scored? 🙂
  14. Looking into it more, I'm wondering if the Ghostery extension I run used to block the ads on mlb.tv for me so I could skip ahead, and now it no longer is able to do that. I will try to experiment some more.
  15. Speaking of MLB.tv, anyone else notice anything different (and very annoying) yesterday? Admittedly, I'm also hoping someone more savvy than myself has figured out a work around for what I'm about to talk about. Here goes... I always found it annoying for non-live game streaming, that it still would say "commercial break in progress" between half-innings instead of it just going to the next half-inning, but whatever. At least you could click on the next half inning and go right to it. Now, you're stuck with commercials from MLB.tv and cannot skip them. At least that was the case yesterday. Plus the commercials seemed to be higher res than the game or something, because they would lag to buffer on my less than ideal internet I get, so the commercial breaks were longer. It actually took longer to watch the game last night than it would have live on cable. So I'm not a fan of that this year, not whatsoever.
  16. Eh, it's one game. It wasn't a particularly good game but there were some good things. I thought Burnes was really in deep trouble after the 3rd inning catastrophe and he was right back out there after the offense lasted about 15 seconds in the top of the 4th. He responded really well to at least get through 5. Good debuts for Turang and Varland, I was so happy for Gus to get out of that jam. I really liked what I saw of Guerra. I was happy to see Contreras look a lot better than what I thought he might show behind the plate. Certainly looked better than Gomes yesterday anyways.
  17. Worse than Johnny Estrada? I hope not. That's a mighty low bar to belly crawl under.
  18. Hope it's a victory waiting for me to watch after work today. The Usinger's I'll be grilling are not meant to be the sausages of defeat.
  19. MVP: Co MVPs Adames and Urias CY: Woodruff ROY: Frelick BA Leader: Yelich HR Leader: Rowdy ERA Leader: Woodruff K Leader: Burnes WAR Leader: Woodruff Breakouts: Frelick, Varland, Uribe, Weimer Disappointments: Houser, Contreras, Bush, Anderson Bold predictions: Woodruff in top 5 for NL CY, receives MVP votes as well. Bullpen scuffles early, becomes a force in 2nd half. Record: 89-73 Playoffs: Yes, win the central, get hot, make it to WS with a little help from our enemies. Champions.
  20. I'm glad I missed it yesterday (working) as that 2nd half had to be pretty hard to watch. I was looking forward to Thursday grilling some Usinger's, watching the Badgers in the NIT and then streaming the Brewers off MLB.tv, and an NIT championship would have been a pretty cool way for this team to finish the season. Oh well. Brats and baseball it is.
  21. Hah by the time I got done with work and some other things and remembered to turn the game on, there was 2.2 seconds left. I had no single doubt in my mind Oregon was going to make a heave and win in OT because that's about how it's gone for them whenever there's been a game I was able to watch this season.
  22. I wanted to go with Greinke, but just can't do that over Freddy. I can see why he wouldn't have gotten through the first round, if I'd voted that round I'd likely have taken Capuano. No upsets for me in either bracket this round.
  23. I read the McCalvy article, I didn't get angry at it though. I think Keston and Counsell both acknowledged Hiura's struggles. It went on to discuss what he's working on with a swing revamp, adding a timing mechanism (toe tap) that hasn't worked for him yet. And it very well may not work for him at all. At this point, I'm fine with it if the Brewers decide it's time to move on from him, but I'm not mad at the guy about it. I don't get the impression that he's not trying.
  24. Not to mention, one of the more hilarious postgame interview moments when, I believe Marcum, got both Nori and his interpreter with shaving cream after he hit a walk off.
  25. Agree I hope Varland at least gets a shot. I'd be lying if I said part of that feeling is just that I don't want to give him back to LAD. Agree with Tim that "arm fatigue" could be something that just happens to pop up in the bullpen from time to time here.
