  1. I’m honestly a little shocked at how upset people still are about losing Durbin. Not as much here, but definitely on Brewers X. I get it. He was a fan favorite and a solid player for us, but his skill set became redundant once we added Jett Williams. Jett is, in all honesty, a better version of that player with stronger tools across the board. Durbin was likely close to maxed out. I would not be surprised if this past season ends up being the highest WAR year of his career. I will still root for him, but some fans and analysts seem apoplectic about selling high after his best season, especially when it brought back two potentially very good pitchers and a tools upgrade for our utility infield spot. I am also going to predict that at some point this year Jett becomes our everyday third baseman. I know he has not played there much, if at all, in the minors, but I do not think that will deter the Brewers. He has already shown he can handle shortstop adequately. Moving to the hot corner without much prior experience is not unprecedented for this organization. Ortiz and Durbin are recent examples. One thing you absolutely do not do, though, is move Ortiz to third base. His primary value to this team is his glove at shortstop. Taking him off that position would significantly diminish what he brings to the table.
  2. I am curious where do we think Zerpa fits into the equation now. Earlier in the offseason there was talk about stretching him out into a starter.
  3. This is a great argument, and I completely agree that there’s more than one way to score runs. The Brewers formula works. That said, I’ll play devil’s advocate for a moment. In the postseason, especially this past October, we saw a completely different level of pitching. By the time you get to October, hits and even quality contact are at a premium. When runs are harder to manufacture and rallies are tougher to string together, having legitimate power in the lineup becomes critical. You need hitters who can change a game with one swing. Guys who provide consistent thump and a reliable source of extra-base damage. That’s an area where the Brewers could still stand to improve.
  4. Damn I really was expecting/hoping for more. This era of prospect hugging by GMs is ANNOYING
  5. I'll defer to Arnold but on the surface meh
  6. I absolutely agree with this. However, I think Jett is a better prospect than you give him credit for. IF the package includes Myers especially. I would rather have another year of contention and the draft pick.
  7. We are all in on the pipsqueak archetype huh. Jett is very talented and has a lot of tools that would be a great get. I'm unsure on Sproat... the stuff is not great. Throwing in Myers too IDK not sure I love it. Seems basically equal to the Burnes package on the surface.
  8. Brandon Lockridge and Ortiz in the everyday lineup? ScreenRecording_08-01-2025 15-49-19_1.mov
  9. I’m still in awe that we had to send cash and a legit prospect along with Cortes for a bonafide scrub. What does Preller have on Arnold? He takes us to the woodshed every damn deal.
  10. That's not how any of this works and no not really.
  11. Oh so we're gonna have to see this scrub everyday in Chourio's absence
  12. Not Steward? Weird we have so many 4th/5th OF types it's an embarrassment of riches well not riches but you get the idea
  13. We can go back to calling Mark Attanasio cheap again but it was fun to feel like the Yankees for that hour.
  14. I truly believe the fans on Real GM myself included would draft better than the Milwaukee Bucks have the past decade.
  15. Ok yes deal from depth that is fine and smart. But to waste an asset (albeit a low tier one) in a salary dump is where I get confused and annoyed. Especially when Nestor is not a negative value guy. Lockridge is a zero. My opinion on him is not gonna change we just acquired another Drew Avans. So what about the depth of those 4th and 5th OF types because we are swimming in them.
  16. With how they churn them out the chances of this happening are decent lol
  17. Preller of all people fleeced us again. What a world. (OK not a complete fleece but an obvious L on the trade)
  18. My thoughts exactly. When you see what most rental arms went for it is puzzling to say the least. Especially when Preller is having a prospect fire sale. Very very annoying trade.
  19. Unfortunately yes. I feel the same odds of him contributing are low but he is 18 a switch hitter, and got the highest signing bonus from the ITNL class of Made and Pena. That is not nothing. Feels like a complete waste of an asset like you said. Even if you are really really low on him.
  20. Oh I assure you he is a nothing. Drew Avans makes him completely redundant and doesn't take a spot on the 40 man.
  21. He was experiencing a bit of a resurgence in the complex league. He is only 18. He is a below mid tier prospect. Still that is too much.
  22. I'll summarize his profile having watched a decent amount of plate appearances. He is a short scrub. He can run he can field. Not much else. Swings a wet noodle you'll be lucky to see 30 raw power.
  23. Having to add Quintana and Cash is terrible. TERRIBLE.
