  1. Are we overlooking this kid? He was one of those guys who "projects" to add velocity as he fills out. He's now listed as 6'3" and still only 165, but his numbers, including peripherals, look pretty solid. Who's made it to some Rattler games this summer? How does the young guy look? Where's his velocity?
  2. Who's the biggest Hader Homer? I am really excited about the kid. Hard to find a reason to "pump the brakes" on his potential.
  3. Any insight regarding his real velocity? I have read that he sits 89-92 and also that he sits in the mid-90s. Generally the truth tends to fall in the lower reported range, but with reports that he has increased velocity each year since being drafted, it could be very possibly we have a young, lanky lefty throwing 94-95 pretty consistently. Hopefully those secondary offerings keep developing. I've read the change-up has the potential to be a plus pitch.
  4. He's the most intriguing prospect we picked up before the deadline, IMO. When guys are drafted, especially out of HS, you always hear that they are expected to add velocity. From all I've read, this has been the case with Hader each year since being drafted. What type of velocity does he show and what are his secondary pitches?
  5. I like that he sounds nothing like Cory P or Jim P. Those guys sounded just alike to me. I don't listen to many radio broadcasts anymore, but occasionally I have to and I like quality. We've been lucky that Uecker has been our worst announcer for several years!
  6. I've heard this anger from others regarding Prince laughing at the end of that loss. What do people expect? For one, it is a series. The season wasn't over. They just did something that that had 70 other times over the previous 6 months. Do guys need to throw bats? Break stuff? Cry? Not speak to eachother when behind after the 7th? Come on. This is baseball.
  7. Bye Bye Yuni and Casey. Hart to 1b is interesting. I'd imagine he'd be at least average there, which is an upgrade over Prince defensively. I think Wolf (or possibly Marcum) gets traded. Improving our D makes our returning staff that much better. I wouldn't be excited, but wouldn't have issues with Marco Estrada going in as our #5. I like his stuff.
  8. We're impressed. Now let those who are interested in discussing the focus of the thread continue to do so. Kohls in Wausau has them out for sure.
  9. Yeah. I caught that right away too. Has to be poor wording. Must mean average of 53 seconds, and even that seems low.
  10. Rams..you know what ceiling means, right? You don't think Green could be an above average 3B? Gindl won't ever be even a platoon starter on the OF? I disagree with your assessment.
  11. I am now first becoming comfortable with the Axman again. It helps that he is throwing 97/98 again vs. 93 like he seemed to be earlier in the year. He looked absolutely overpowering in his saves vs StL last Sunday, and again yesterday.
  12. We went to a weekday afternoon game ~3 years ago and parked behind a Taco Bell for like $15-20. This was just a couple blocks away from Wrigley. That was in April, though, and I don't know how much the area has changed since then.
  13. I've been saying it all year. Gomez should bat 9th.
  14. I've been a fan of Rickie's since he was drafted. I been checking out Brewerfan since before the .com "incident" and have chosen my favorite prospects from before that time (Cristian Guerrero was supposed to by our Vlad!). Rickie was the first big-timer to make it up and after seeing the effort he played with consistently I hooked my wagon on him. Took some grief at times, but he has arrived! Keep working, 23!
  15. You guys are too uptight. You boo the other team because they are the other team. When a pitcher is worried about a runner, you boo him to rattle him a bit more. Is that a stupid thought? Maybe. But this isn't golf.
  16. This allows for 4 year deals with the pitchers before Braun's cost spikes, correct? That would make sense referring to pitching deals (if you can get guys like Greinke or Marcum to sign for 4 years).
  17. Starting seeing tiny flakes fall at about 4:20 here in Wausau. Schools cancelled all after school activities by 10:30 this morning. I thought they knew something that others didn't. I guess not.
  18. All clear in Wausau yet.
  19. That makes perfect sense actually. He is still building up his arm strength and endurance. His first start will be roughly 35 pitches. The second about 55. The third about 75. No reason to build short starts into your ML rotation.
  20. I have an extra preferred parking pass for the game this Friday night. We'll be taking 1 big van down rather than 2 vehicles so that opened up a pass. Let me know if anyone is interested.
  21. Plus I'll be at Friday's game and would really love to have Hart in the lineup.
  22. Oh yeah. It looks like we'll be taking one big van down now, and when I bought the tickets I ordered 2 preferred parking passes. Looks like 1 is available. Anyone heading to the game Friday?
  23. How about Wausau? Paper just updated and says 7" expected, but they've proven to be a bit unreliable.
  24. Website said it was .67 from the Park. Is that right? Is it walkable or would that not be an option. Also, what are the rules for exiting the parking area? We have preferred parking passes, and I know people often do some tailgating after games, as well. Is there a rule regarding when you have to be out of the lot? Couldn't find this info on the team's site. THANKS!
  25. Correction...after game bar options would be nice. Again, we don't need to go out downtown, but if there is something nearby if we choose to do that it would be a plus. Nothing fancy needed. Drinks, decent service, good people.
