  1. This thread just couldn't go away with the first 50+ inches of snow. We received some sleet last night and it is currently snowing in Wausau. Last I checked we could get 2-4 inches of snow today.
  2. But when will this end, will he just be able to maintain a 4-4.25 ERA until he is 55 years old? No, he will drop off at some point. Although there are no specific stats that point to this season being worse than usual for him, by watching this guy pitch I am of the opinion that he will be worse than last year, and by next year we will be regretting the huge contract he has which will keep him in the rotation until August of 2012. That is what I meant by Jeff Suppan 2.0, we will regret his contract and it will keep him in the rotation longer than he would if he was a young cheap guy we could just put in the pen. It'll end when we starts to lose his "stuff." It won't happen at 34 just because he is 34 and that is when it happens to pitchers. He's still touching 90 with a good curveball (which he still hasn't gotten command of yet) and a cutter.
  3. I really like that we have Gamel to fall back on at 1B next year. He won't fill Prince's shoes offensively, but he has the potential to be a major upgrade on defense. Keep him in AAA playing first base every day. Bring him up to DH when needed.
  4. So that lines up Yo to pitch next Friday, right? NICE! That'll be my first game for the year. When I bought the tickets I was hoping Greinke, but Yo is a good runner-up. That said, when Greinke is back there won't be one pitcher in the rotation that would really take the luster off of going to a Brewer game like Suppan or others used to.
  5. Tough to find a good reason to miss something like this. An "emergency" therapy session seems pretty atypical. Those things must be planned out days ahead of time at least. The biggest problem here was that nobody seemed to contact the place and let them know beforehand that he wasn't going to make it.
  6. I doubt if this is the same, but in the summer we often get heat lightning. Amazing light shows, but no booms. EDIT: After some research, I'm not so sure that what I'm talking about is officially "heat" lightning. That's what I've always called it, though.
  7. Uecker is far better when the team sucks. I find him frustrating to listen to (especially early on and middle innings) when I actually care about a game.
  8. So you get off your butt and go to the game! If it is a sell out...then it doesn't make sense.
  9. They've been doing this on DirecTV for a couple years now. Or are you talking about a different provider.
  10. Why are they waiting 1 year for that match? The Rock just brought back a ton of fans to the shows, and they are going to make them wait a year to see that match? They better do some great writing to keep everyone watching in that time.
  11. I'll be ordering a WWE pay per view for the first time in years this weekend along with a few other guys. The Rock being back really seems to elevate guys like The Miz and even Cena. If Jericho was still around I'd be completely ecstatic.
  12. Was GP Charlie Sheen before Charlie Sheen was? EDIT: Post of his from 2005. I'm sober right now, too. I'll make up for it.
  13. Killing in the Name of- Rage Against the Machine
  14. Crazy amount of lightning in Wausau! With the snow coming down as well it was extremely bright and flashy inside the house, as well. Fun storm when you don't have to drive anywhere.
  15. Actually T-BONE, the diet program has a built in calorie surplus if you choose according to their guidelines. If you want to cut weight you need to bump down a level or so in their recommended levels.
  16. Here is roughly what I eat in a day when I am doing P90X: Breakfast-High fiber cereal with skim milk and a whey protein shake (protein mix and water). (alternate meal-one egg with a few egg whites, 100 calorie 100% whole wheat sara lee flat bread bun, small protein shake) Snack (almonds or a fruit or small bowl of chicken noodle soup) Lunch-6" roasted chicken breast sub from Subway on honey oat (lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, pickles, onions, banana peppers and a bit of honey mustard) alternate-black ham sub w/similar toppings Snack Dinner other 6" sub Snack and Protein shake I rely heavily on Subway mostly because I don't trust myself to cook anything decent for me. I need to spend some time in the kitchen, I know. I mix in some steamed veggies with my meals on occasion, as well. Morning workouts are certainly an option.
  17. Do you have a gym membership? If not, what equipment do you have access to? I don't have a gym membership but as a teacher and coach I have access to the weight room/fitness center.Describe what you're currently doing for training. (any lifting, cardio, p90x, nothing, etc) If you are one of our p90xers, do you enjoy doing it or do you want to try something different? Are there certain parts you like, but doing it everyday sucks? P90Xer. I do enjoy it for the most part, but struggle fitting in the hour+ workouts each day. I've considered cutting each workout roughly in half. What days and times are you able to workout? (I'm not trying to sell you sessions) Varies. Do you drink coffee or take in any other caffeine? How much? Not a lot. Occasionally diet soda. Maybe averages out to a can a day.
  18. Alright SP. I'm looking to burn fat primarily. At 5'8" and 230 lbs I have a strong, thick build from the calves on up through the face. Obviously I am carrying around plenty of winter fat right now as well, mostly in the thighs, butt (which is "prominent" even at healthier weight) and midsection. I feel I'm pretty healthy at around 195 lbs, even though my optimal (great word!) BMI is much lower than that. I'm not concerned with maxing out strength and power, as my build naturally lends itself to maintaining those two attributes, but I do like to have something of a "built" look for summer. Ultimate short-term goal-I'd like to be around 200 lbs by early June. What do you have for me?
  19. Exactly hurricane. What is optimal for me isn't optimal for everybody. southpaw, what exactly is your expertise? Your last rant against P90X is a rant against exercise and improper nutrition as much as anything. If my ultimate goal was to build muscle and get stronger than I should be eating nearly protein-heavy 4000 calories per day according to the P90X nutrition plan!!! My body would not need to feed on my own muscle to fuel itself.
  20. What is optimal??? That's a pretty relative term to be throwing around like a blanket.
  21. Apples to oranges.
  22. Maybe Suppan gets cut from the Giants...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  23. How much snow/mixed crap are we looking at for the Wausau area, and when will it hit? I can't find this stuff anywhere else!
  24. Supposed to be an "interesting" storm moving across the state late Tuesday through Wednesday. No commentary from the resident weather man?
